The Quickest Way to Replace Shifter Bushings on a Nissan 300zx

  • The title says it all. In this video we will be replacing our old and worn oem shifter bushings with the z1 motorsports brass bushings. If you need help with interior removal check out our previous videos on how to remove the interior components.

    I've replaced my Z's bushings from the top by removing the center console and remove the shifter from the top.

    Did it in 2008 and it still felt good when I sold it. I also welded the pivoting brackets because they were worn out as well and got rid of the shifter rubber mount that bolts to the body. Solid for dayzzz.

    can you do this without disconnecting the a-arm from the underside? like can you replace the bushings from the center console?

      @mattkins752 you won't be able to get your hands in there and press the bushings in unfortunately

    Do you need to support the transmission with a jack when you do this?

      No you do not need to do that.

    Is the automatic the same as manual?

      For the shifter no, two different setups

    Do you need to remove drive shaft?

      If you can get to them no, if you can't then yes. Depends on hand size tbh
