4:36 The 3 strongholds under villages aren't always the closest but they usually are. Non village strongholds can be closer if the game has trouble finding villages to put them under. Nice video though, it's good to see the bedrock runners recognised for their amazing runs.

Its also good to mention that structures in Bedrock aren't guaranteed to show up in any given quadrant. Great video and glad to see Bedrock is getting some new world records!
I'm pretty sure it's the same on java, iirc its like 40% chance for fortress and 50% for bastion or vice versa. Could be wrong though because it's been a long time since I've checked
Okay so i see a lot of people questioning the dragon fight as a glitch, so here is the explanation as to why it is neither a glitch nor bug.
What Mojang had in mind when coding the dragon was that head shots with a bow and arrow would do extra damage. So the way that they did that was to have all the dragon's armor points despawn when any projectile hits the head hitbox, and respawn when when it comes into contact with an end crystal's healing beam. However the is nothing in the code that explicitly says that the dragon needs to take damage from said projectile or that the projectile has to be an arrow. This mechanic can be exploited by throwing any projectile to the dragon's head while it is perched and removing its armor points, then do ≤25 hearts of dame to keep it perched, then build up and make a lava tower and blow up the beds. When the first be is exploded the dragon will try to leave and on the 2nd explosion the dragon will continue to leave But on the 3rd explosion, the dragon will be in range of end crystal beams and will regain its armor points. So the lava flow will slow it down so that when the 3rd bed explodes, the dragon won't be able to regain its armor points, thus killing it.
edit: BTW the armor points just coincidentally 4x damage because of the amount so it's not a "4x bug/glitch" it's just an arbitrary number Mojang chose for the number of armor points.

It's an exploit, not a glitch. It actually fixes a bug where the dragon doesn't take the proper amount of damage.

It's generally agreed that glitchless actually means "no major glitches" like duping or xray. Some glitches are allowed.
To be clear, EVERY known glitch is categorized by the community and wether or not it's allowed. This is acceptable and technically an exploit, because it's triggers the dragon to take as much damage as it SHOULD, it's bugged otherwise

A lot of games have "armor" on boss monsters and Minecraft is no exception (by armor I mean a value which decreases damage taken during calculation - it does not need to have a visual aspect).
When you hit the dragon's neck with a projectile the armor effect it has is removed. Intentionally.
You can consider this an exploit to some extent because realistically it probably should only activate this effect when you use an arrow, but neither the damage it takes normally nor the ability to increase damage done to it is an error.
Everything about how the dragon takes damage is intended functionality with the exception of maybe what things you are able to activate the effect with.

many "glitchless" categories actually allow glitches, just very few specific ones, it's also not even a glitch as it works exactly as intended. It's an "exploit" at best

the funny thing is 1.18+ is faster due to spawning above stronghold but java players don't want to deal with the more RNG that bedrock players have been living with... (there they can spawn above strongholds, getting faster times).
you spend like 2 minutes mining to the stronghold alone, not to mention pearl rates

1. villages in java don't spawn a sh under them
2. in bedrock 1.16 the starter staircase spawns at like y level 56-18 but mostly high enough that it doesn't take long to dig into
@@HassanIQ777 1. java has f3 tricks to scan for strongholds (could be improved I will say) 2. RNG % shifted from it under village to depth
@@mooing_cowmilk if you mean pie-dar (or pie-ray), there is no chance you could use that to find a stronghold from the surface, due to dungeons and mineshafts messing up the reading.
That's awesome, I hope we get to the point Java soeedrunners needs to go to bedrock, cause a the addons in java feels like cheats.
First, java edition don't have addons, only Data Packs or World Generation rules (you can get any kind of world generation even the old beta or alpha one)
And The debug menus and the pie chart aren't cheat by the way

@@joelhodoborgas The main "addons" are an external script to multi instance, and the stronghold calculator. Don't personally see any issue with either, the calculators were a bit controversial at first but it makes sense why they legalized them (people were getting twitch chat or a friend in a vc to do the math for them, or memorizing big lists of numbers). I feel like legalizing calculators also made the category more accessible for people, as you no longer need to know how to triangulate.
That's just my opinion though. If you feel like java speedruns are a bit cheaty, then just don't watch/support them lol.
