I lived alone since 18.
I taught myself to live below my means because I grew up poor, and struggling unfortunately. Now at 35 I'm so grateful for having the adult real life experiences from 18 until today.
Having no financial and physical support system always since 18 keeps one very humble along with trusting God!👏🏾
I have had the same at 19 years old I never had money 💰 growing up and I had to learn everything myself and no help at all. and still struggling but I would rather do things on my own

@@elenasekulovski2962 same here I left home at 19 too I went through my share of issues but it taught me the life lessons I needed to grow so I can be an example to my daughters I want them to know they are my greatest accomplishments although I didn't truly get to where I desired to be just yet .
@@elenasekulovski2962 it makes you stronger I didn't grow up with money but I had a hard working mother who did show me that you can do it whether you're alone or married you have to look out for you before you can help anyone else sometimes we neglect and pour ourselves into others so much we don't take time to have some me time it's nothing wrong with needing time alone to reflect and soul search.

I am still learning how to budget and save. I'm continuing with building a great credit score, creating goals as it relates to life changing purchases. I was married for 9 years and I've been divorced for a year. Starting over has been a challenge. I'm 40 years old with two young kids with my oldest being on the spectrum. When I tell you that God has been our provider and protector!? My God has kept me through it all despite the storm. I get weary and feel uncertain sometimes but my kids and my relationship with God has gotten me through. I pray everyday for strength. Thank you Letoya for this video. I'm enjoying your channel.

Money is the seed that God places in our hands to be steward over. We can do what makes it grow and take care of our responsibilities or it can seep through your fingers. I was raised to take care of bills 1st and have GOOD credit. I learned to save something each check and utilize some investment options, 401k, IRA, etc, for your emergency needs and my retirement future. Discernment is required for any relationship, God will have to be my choser going forward and reveal all of that person's character and flags, I am divorced too. I can’t help you on budgeting, it’s still a struggle for me too. But I do know that you can’t be a man’s peace, only God can do that. We are not designed to be their peace, nor are they designed to be ours, that’s a God shaped hole to be filled by God alone. So if a man or a woman is asking you to be their peace, that’s the wrong person for you, they must find their peace in God alone. Psalms 62:1-2. God bless sis.

LeToya I heard about your story with DC today and it's really inspired me what you've overcome and how you kept going. I totally agree about how important it is to leave the wrong man rather than stay when you're miserable. I think a lot of women stay and put up with all sorts of nonsense. My ex was abusive and I've been single since I left 6 years ago, I couldn't bare to deal with that kind of behaviour again. I'm currently out of work so my goal is to return to work and buy a house. I'm good at being frugal but my struggle has always been low income due to managing some health conditions. Glad to have found your videos, I wish you much continued success.

Toya thats the hardest thing to not be able to have you kids in the same roof everyday. Its been 11 years and its still hard because thats not what I wanted for my child either but what I have just starting to submit to is casting all my cares, burdens, weights that easily beset me(specifically this one) to the Lord. Love this!!! The part about the kids, had me almost shed a tear. I don't have any kids but I have raised a family member, and he's almost 30. One day, the kids will choose will choose you. Permanently. No worries. As for dating, I feel you! I had to laugh about the red flag. I always say, "They're not purple, blue nor green but red and it means stop!" I have been divorced for almost 20 years, and I am ok. Too many guys with issues.

Toya when you speak about your kids & broken home it speaks to my spirit! When plans are derailed in that manner it's so disheartening. Single parenting days are still tough for me as well, even in another relationship but filling the original void is so hard. I guess God will have to step in for us. ❤❤

Thanks for sharing your truth. I've been pretty frugal all my life from an early age. I said if I don't have the cash to pay for something or pay something off immediately (not talking about major purchases like homes, cars) then I don't need it....I simplified it as needs vs wants. But it's ok to treat myself every now & again which I struggle with from time to time lol♥️
