Did my 2020 last week. Hands down, now feels like a real truck. So thankful and highly recommend. Do both front and back folks. The front TRD is 15 lbs more weight than original. All you have to ask yourself when deciding is do you 4x4 off road more than 51% of your drive time. If so don’t do it. If not do it ASAP. God Bless. USMC/USAF Ret.
I see this was 5 years ago but I recently purchased 2016 tundra trd pro and was looking forward to installing the rear sway bar but since you mentioned if you only had to pick one it would be the front. I have now ordered the front and will get to the rear sway bar at a later time. I love this truck very much. Thank you.
You put out some great videos just enough humor to keep it lite but not overbearing. Good to see a dad teaching his son how to work with his hands, making memories. Keep it up.
If I lived in a city I would get the sway bars. Since I live in the desert and the roads are rough I’m running King’s and no front sway bar and it is smooth little bit more body roll but I got use to it. Like the color of your pro!
Just bought my 2nd tundra, The first 2011 trd rock warrior was perfect no sway just an awesome machine. then i bought a 2021 xsp addition. which my boat handles better corners. feels like i'm going to flip the truck if i hit a pebble.. trd front and rear sway bars in the near future. thanks for the heads up
Nice work and truck. I too prefer trd sway bars except I had the opposite reaction. The rear was instantly better the front bar felt like it added 10% less sway.
I did my rear on my 2021 limited but was hesitant due to this video. However I don’t have the trd pro suspension so id probably do the front as well. My limited rides bouncy which I don’t like. I was told the trd bilstien 4600 off of the trd off road model will fix the bouncy. I’m thinking about it since the shocks aren’t too bad at $100 a piece.
WrongwayUp don’t get me wrong if you never go off-roading then it’s fine I guess but the sway bars limits the articulation of your suspension. Enjoy your vids tho
Why get a pro if not off roading? I got the same voodoo and & keeping it all stock. It’s made for off road. I don’t get guys who get the pro and change out all the fox suspensions. Get a regular box tundra and build your own. The pro has already been tested for its specs to maximize the capabilities but people are changing things that make it a pro 🤦🏽♂️
The rear sway bar doesnt impede the travel of the rear axle. I have the trd suspension and I've gone over snowbanks and into my ditch and doesnt bind or impede axle or shock travel.
A little rigid might be good for hauling all the overland gear, racks and what not. I have similar plans as you but for a 2020 army green. Rack with storage and maybe a tent. Was troubleshooting the sag that will inevitably happen with the soft fox shox. I was thinking maybe airbags in the back.
Hi.. I've been wanting to get feedback on these two TRD sway bars and you hit it dead on. I would like to install the two in phases so based on your experience you are suggesting the front first, right? Great looking truck.. Cheers..
yes..front first... doing both whill make the truck a little juddery . i did it and will not go back. ..i will have another video or a series of videos on the sway bars and other suspension add-ons soon.
@@AndreiDoroftei I installed the trd front sway bar today on my 2020 trd pro. First impression driving it, I think it has changed the way the truck rides, for the better. I'm happy so far. Definitely hardest part was reinstalling the trd skid plate.
You literally just newtered your truck by severely restricting the movement of your front and rear suspension. It will ride much rougher down the highway now. Those are for non-trd pro trucks. For people that want it to ride like a rigid car on cornering.
99% of people don't off road and don't need the chassis to twist. On road it will make it stay flatter in the twisties making for more corner speed, not what this truck was intended for but it works.

Awesome job keeping your son involved with you and the install process 👏 👍 that's worth more than the sway bars.
You put out some great videos just enough humor to keep it lite but not overbearing.

thank you ....thats exactly my goal
You where right, like the old Lincoln boats Our grandfather used to drive. Nice job
the front sway bar compliments the red springs. i like.
This is my third truck. And my first tundra trd sport it as the front and rear sway bar. It’s like night and day. It rides awesome. Totally Wicked!
I agree, I need 4WD for the occasional snow but want less truck-like handling. I got a 2019 TRD Sport.

That young lad needs to wear some safety glasses. He has a lot of years ahead of him. 😀

Love my Trd front sway bar
I’m curious how the TRD Sport package is now, since they have the front and rear sway bars standard.
Now this is weird since on ALL the Tundra forums they recommend the REAR and not the front. Ugh, subjective opinions, Ugh.
I can understand doing this to a regular Tundra but not a TRD Pro. Isn’t that why you buy a TRD PRO to get full use of the Fox suspension?
Ya..I see your point....I will re-evaluate it in the months to come. Overall it has not changed the way it handles or feels
Yeah front sway bar kills articulation. I’d go with just the rear to help with body roll.

if your drive is jittery try changing the tires to less aggresive tread
It does make the underbody look good wonder what you will get out of it @ max performance

Heavy Arms so far I like it. And yes bags is what I was thinking as well
Super cool!

I thought those trd sway bars were standard on the trd pro trim?
No they are not, different suspension and shocks than standard tundra models
So since this video is a year old, do you still like the front sway bar?
absolutely...i like then both...will have a new video in a week or so on the suspension

@@joejr9653 most excellent... if u do the back sway bar install shackles . like in the video i posted 2 weeks ago.
Did your front sway bar hit your coilovers?
no
Whats the clearance on the links? Do they hit your shock body?
You don't sound like you're sold on these.
Why buy an off road truck....just to make it a not off road truck?

i will do an update on this later this summer...
You took the words right out of my mouth. The TRD PRO is NOT recommended to use the TRD Sway Bars. They destroy the travel of the PRO suspension.
That is what I have read as well TRD pro = no sway bars!
