That one train going from vladivostok to support the defence of moscow in hoi4:
Artillery train goes brrrt
I love how this sounds just like a train taking more and more speed
You are right)
This song is about the the troops being called to war, leaving by train and saying bye to the don river. It then talks about their time in war and it ends saying that their enemies can not wash away the blood of the workers and villagers.
I'm fairly sure it's about train warfare (called echelon warfare in Russian) during the battle of Tsaritsyn where Stalin and Voroshilov (his name is mentioned in this) met for the first time during the civil war.
*INSERT* *A* *COMMUNIST* *JOKE* *OF* *THOMAS* *THE* *TANK* *ENGINE* *HERE!*
its the gulag theme song
Exactly, metaphorical and literal power of the train for the modern age.
I absolutely love this music, but is anyone going to say how the percussionist on the snare drum is keeping perfect tempo at those crazy high speeds? Holy shit that’s amazing.
Matthew Timm sounds like a train no?
@@CarmellaJelenVanDeLeur it expresses train sound with drum or maracas but i think it sounds more like drum
Well they were soviets.
@@luhar0202 it's using brush sticks (they look like miniature rakes) on a snare drum and dragging them across
If he didn't it would have been Gulag for him.
Echelon after echelon,
Echelon after echelon:
The road is wide.
The commander gave the order - and off we go!
His hand waves with a white handkerchief
to the blue Don.
Camp life made us friends
with you, Voroshilov,
We rushed together into the battle:
The enemy recalls with anguish
The Battle for Belaya Kalitva,
The Battle for Kalach Station.
For Tsaritsyn, for Tsaritsyn
Day and night we'll be fighting,
Crossing pikes with pikes
And the rain doesn't wash away
It can't be dried/destroyed by the wind,
the blood of the workers and peasants
The commander gave the order - and off we go!
His hand waves with a white handkerchief
to the blue Don.
Echelon after echelon
Echelon after echelon:
The road is wide.
don refers to the don river
Siberia is very wide.
I would like to know the history of this Song.
Much Thanks.
@@timothywilliamson3152 During the battle of Tsaritsyn in the Russian Civil War in 1920, a lot of armored trains were used, Echelon after Echelon refers to armored train warfare, it is also dedicated to Vorshilov (commander of the offensive). Tsaritsyn later became Stalingrad, and is now called Volgograd
The echelon's song was written by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov and Osip Kolychev in 1933. The song is about the railway warfare(also called echelon warfare) in the Battle for Tsaritsyn(Volgograd) where Stalin and Voroshilov became friends.

Communism will prevail
Most of the songs the communists wrote are inspiring and powerful. It's not only the lyrics, some people dont understand the lyrics, but it's in the way the song is sung and the sounds and instruments they use. It's really cool.
This song is so beautiful. I love how they've made it like a locomotive, accelerating from a slow, quiet pace to a loud, thundering one. Its a great example of how amazing these composers were with musical techniques.
Good observation, closer to ending it gets quieter too, as if train got to speed and pressure have been lovered to only maintain it.
The union may no longer stand but it's legacy shall continue forever

***** It felt like it was going for that, but there were so many characters it was impossible to care about any of them.
Sometimes life is like that. That there are so many people, it's hard to care about any of them. We pick those few we love and get on with our lives. I'll be nice to as many people I can, but not everybody. I will try to invest myself in the lives of others, but there are so many people, and some we could go through life never having known of them and we'd still sleep soundly at night. Those few we choose to love and we get on with our lives. I'm not saying some people don't have large, caring families (or support systems) in their lives, either.

This song feels like the euphoria of fighting for a dignified society
An eight-hour working day, a decent salary, a boss who does not yell at you or offend you, and if he does so, you can file a complaint against him and he will be punished for it, housing for everyone, the opportunity to go on vacation at a convenient time for you, prices are not rising skyward every day, a decent education for every member of society, medicine is free and universal, even in the most remote village, the transformation of reality for the better.

Among all the communist nations that existed, the Soviets make the best music.
The Soviet Union was a union of nations...the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was made up of a number of nations, who became "Soviets", supposedly equals, but mostly run by Russia. The "Soviets" were not a nation. And since there are only a few choices to pick from as far as Communists, most of which are Asian societies, it's not surprising that to Westerners, music from the USSR sounds best. Although, to be honest, I've never heard much Communist-era music from China or Vietnam to compare, so I can't really say for sure. How about you?
justforever96 Communist China's songs are noisy at best. In particular I can't stand their obsession with high-ptich female vocals. Since their political doctrine emphasises peasant revolution instead of the Leninist elitist approach, their musical taste focuses on uncontrolled yelling that imitates rural folk songs. The North Korean tries to copy from the Soviets but the quality is not as impressive - after all they are not as war-like as the slavs. The Vietnamese didn't try to imitate from the Soviets whatsoever, their musical style is mostly loyal to their national traditions. Can't say much for Cuba though.
I really like Chinas "Ode to the Motherland", though I have no idea what they are singing about. Then again, it's the same with Russian songs lol.
North Korean's communist music is a close second to Soviet music.
I´d put East Germany at nr. 2
Seriously made me tap my feet super rapidly, and I was in a very relaxed and tired state. The tempo is amazing.
