@@trucksouteast Do you have any more information on the Duplex? I would love to locate a mid 80’s Autocar. One of the OO’s had one where I worked in the late 80’s. It had a 3406 cat 15 speed and a 60” bunk. Looked a lot like a Western Star at the time.
There isn’t a whole lot of information out there, but I did talk to the owner at last year’s Macungie ATCA show. It’s a Duplex body (registered 1951), but completely modernized underneath to keep it running. Cat 3406 powered. I believe it’s on Freightliner suspension/air ride units. Unsure what trans and rear it’s running As for the Autocar, I know of one running around pretty locally. 80s DS64 dump truck. I never got a response to a letter I mailed him and I haven’t met anyone who knows the guy, so I wouldn’t know all too much about that one
@@trucksouteast Thank you for the update. It is a cool truck for sure. I have only seen 3 of the Autocars like I’m looking for. I have been trucking since the early 80’s.
wish they were still made. need to start making them again
Lost mine due to a drunk driver back in 1994. Got hit head on and it was totaled. Had a sloped hood one somewhat like a T800 KW.
One of the later models?
@@trucksouteast It was a 1986
They’d be totally hideous and full of bullshit if they were made again
