  • Dear Viewers, Today we will design the 'Radial Engine Assembly' in Autodesk Inventor 2018 version. This Assembly tutorial covers topics from Inventor Basics like 2-D sketching, and Part/Assembly modelling. This assembly contains 10 parts Radial Engine Master Rod, Radial Engine Articulated Rod, Radial Engine Piston etc. First, we create the Radial Engine Master Rod part then later each component is created individually with no relation to each other which you can term the Bottom-up designing process. In this process, the ten parts are designed individually, and afterwards, the entire parts are inserted into the main assembly by using the assembly constraints. When the parts have been modified the changes also appear in the assembly.
    This Video will cover:-
    1. Create basic 2D sketches on different work planes like XY, YZ and XZ with the help of Lines, Circles, Rectangles, 3 Point Arc, etc.
    2. Create a solid feature by using the Extrude, Extruded with the cut option, Revolve, Fillet, and Mirror Feature, commands.
    3. Place the part in Assembly by using the Place Components command.
    4. Use the 'Mate' command to position two components relative to one another by using such as Mate/Flush, and Insert mate.

First of all, I welcome you to my channel and thank you very much for watching my videos first.
Now I am going to answer you as if you have asked me this question.
(1). I have to Apply the Mate constraint between the hole axis of the Piston Head Subassembly_2 & the vertical Axis of the Cylindrical surface of the Link Pin and afterwards
      (2) Apply the Flush mate between the YZ Plane of Piston Head Subassembly_2 & XY Plane “Four Cylinder Radial Engine Assembly” (Main Assembly).
When you apply both these mates then only it will rotate properly. If you can download its file, the file is totally free for available, you can download it. Please check the video description.
