Hey Saffy - I do so many motorbike events and travel solo. It's all good, part of the exploration, recharge, etc. I always end up meeting and socializing with people along the way! Perfect combo of freedom and socializing.
Really wanted to got to ABR this year but going alone is what put me off going as none of my riding mates would be interesting in camping! Think next year I will just go for it 😊
I saw the ABR festival for the first time last year thru your videos it looks like a TON of fun and you gave a great talk! Looking forward to seeing it again with your unique Sprocket spin!
Did you see the "Heroes wearing Helmets. The riders and bikes of the 2024 Longest Day Challenge. Cancer Research UK"? It was was on Obsession Engineering's channel. happens every year. Hopefully you'll be able to do it next year 🤞
Almost packed! Just need to load and check things off. Mmm have a 20,000 battery but now thinking should have got another. Got a free 2hr lesson and am looking forward to hearing the Welsh choir😂 P.s oh and thank God its not going to be as hot as the last few days.
A handheld fan is a great idea! Night temps can definitely drop, so even if you skip the sleeping bag, having a light layer or blanket might come in handy. Hope your trip is cool and comfortable! 😄🌙
@@SaffySprocket Was freezing with no sleeping bag. My anti freeze blood not as effective as I thought😂. Lucky had taken a thick jumper or would have been sleeping in the Mbike jacket. Fell asleep on sat turned into a roasted prune😂
Had every intention to come over this year but unfortunately, work commitments prevent me from doing so...if you have time why not pop over to Stratford upon Avon, home of William Shakespeare, hope your weekend goes well Saff, ride safe, stay safe 😊
Great advice Saffy 👍. First time for me this year and going solo. Fairly new rider and not an ADV bike rider...yet! So I'll be 'that guy' on the non ADV bike 😂 but really looking forward to it
@SaffySprocket Loved it!!! Atmosphere was really friendly, no one cared what I was riding we just all had the same Interest...Bikes!! Certainly made my decision that my next upgrade will be to the ADV bike. Looking forward to next year and anyone thinking of going solo and doesn't own an adventure bike yet...do it, it's the best experience and you learn a lot before you dive into that world
About the DVLA code. As a Belgian visitor, whe do not have such a thing. Manufacturers do NOT allow any foreign biker to test ride their bikes. Most European countries do not use DVLA codes. After visiting ABR for the 3rd year, this issue still has not changed. Test ride all you want, as long as you are from the UK
That’s a shame about the testing restrictions. 😔 It can be frustrating when there are barriers like this. I’m hoping things will become more inclusive in the future. Thanks for sharing your experience, and I hope you still had a great time at ABR! 🏍️🌍
I've done so many music festivals and bike rallies on my own, never felt lonely because soon after arriving, even when pitching your tent, you'll be talking to a whole new group of people. Always found that happens throughout the whole weekend. If it's something I want to do I just pack and go,even if I have to go on my own. I'm happy with my own company and as long as I have a good book ,maybe a small radio. I'm happy. It's a chance to get away from modern life,so I don't need mobile phones, laptops and any other of life's new gizmo's
Skimilar, .... Sure, that works for me, ..... after about 5 or 6 grog, we can talk about what and what's not skimilar about our bikes Saffy, lol. Stay Safe.
@@SaffySprocket I plan to attend vicariously again - via the vids of others, so I’m hoping for some good content. I hear there’s a lost keys tent this year. 👀🧐😎😜 Peace 🏴

1st time and going alone. Hadn't planned to go this year but thanks to winning some tickets from Dave on the motoeuro RUclips channel I'm very much looking forward to it. Thanks for the tips Saffy.
Excellent thanks Saffy, I did spot you on the Yamaha ride out. Looked like you were having last minute GoPro and glove issues as the rest of the girls rode out lol
How not to lose a tent at festivals. buy some different coloured glow sticks, choose your colour coding (2 or 3 work best) and tape them to your guide ropes at the front. make sure you have enough for the whole weekend.simple things work the best
I’m the type of guy who 100% prefers to travel alone, never in groups, and never been into laddish nonsense. But adventure type bikers are generally friendly types. @@G58 No one used apostrophes. An ellipsis (three dots) shows passage of time or a dramatic pause, in order for the reader to fill in the thoughts. That said any group with a shared activity and an event that brings them together in recreation (read "not working") tends to put everyone in a good mood and acting their best. Nicely done Saffy we don't get any of those here on Vancouver Island . That would be sooooo much fun !!!!
Ah that's a shame! Bike festivals are ace!
Excelent video ❤ I love the green Background
