Holy ****!!! I love you for this quilt design. I have a "ton" of charm packs that I was given and now I know how I am going to Zip through them! I can also see how using your method could be used for various sizes of blocks sewn together in this way. I can also see that maybe this could grow into a larger quilt by adding more backing after the center baby quilt is completed. What do you think?💓💓💓
Oh Janelle .....I LOVE how you think❣️ YES yes...and YES you are totally on the right track❣️ Woo hoo🎉🎊😍
Great idea Janelle Embree. I am thinking of using layer cake sized squares instead of charm sized. Love your passion and talent Tracy! -- Ru
😍
I meant thumbs up👍❣️ Chris
I love the fabric on MY LEFT behind you!
I love QAYG, thanks for these tips ❤
Awesome method for a quick quilt!
I am a Quilt As you Go Quilter. All of my quilts are made this way. Another method that you can use is Fun and Done. [you can make your templates with cardboard or dollar store cutting boards. [ your quilt will have a sashing. ]. I love to piece my blocks first. [ I have discovered that I can design my backs too using this method. I usually make the back a more simple block because I am too excited to se the finished designs. ]. My quilting tip use a pattern for size and design because of the quilting math. I have learned not to wing it. Thanks for listening if you have a Facebook page, I’ll post some of my quilts there to inspire you. I know you have definitely inspired me. Godspeed.
Thanks for all of your quilt as you go info Diane❣️ I don't have a facebook but you can always email your pics to thesewingchannel33@gmail.com 🤩
Super timely! I've seen so many folks asking for a QAYG tutorial! Nicely done, Tracy!
Yay🎉thank you so much Becca❣️
Love, Love, Love this💕💕💕💕
That is simply a brilliant idea. Wow.
Thank you Katty❣️
Love it. I’ve never seen this version of Quilt as You Go Quilt. Very nice.
A twin sized quilt made with 5” squares is about 14 over and 18 down and has 31 pieces to quilt together
I plan to make this soon and might do 17 squares down instead of 18
I love your video “working 9-5”. So adorable. I love Dolly Parton.
I love that crumb quilt behind you and the scrap one.. such an inspiring idea.
Here's the video on it ✅ ruclips.net/video/_z_W4dpTzzw/видео.html
Great plan! Thanks for sharing!
Now I understand Quilt as you go. Thanks
Awesome Esther❣️
Thank you for your great video explanation for this lovely quilt!!!!!!
You are so welcome❣️🤩
I like this, no assembling after. How smart you are!
You made the "sew-as-you-go" so much simpler and so very understanding. I have always wanted to know, understand, how to do this and I finally get. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Just wonderful you are!!
You are so kind❣️
I want to try this with Trip Around the World pattern
Love this idea. I am definitely going to try this. Thanks for sharing
Awesome Carla❣️
Thank you, I have learned so much by watching your videos. May God bless you!
Thank you for teaching me about those color dots on the salvage! Great info
You are so welcome Heather!❣️
😮 Oh Tracy!!!! You are brilliant! You have just opened my eyes to a completely different way of doing Quilt as you go with many different types of things! The seam measurements are key! I adore you! You not only are the Quilting Rock Star 💫, you are my mentor & hero of new ideas! I love to create, okay so I really don’t buy patterns......I am a completely visual quilter! When folks say it is all in your head ( like a bad thing) I smile 😊!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Going to do this one today!
You are so sweet Glenda❣️
I am a visual quilter too...I have already thought of yet another way to use this technique...so stay tuned🤩
❤️
This would be a great one to add some BIG STITCH hand quilting diagonally.❤
Great idea!🤩
My machine has the big stitch as a stich selection which would be even faster 😊
@@ceciliaschleicher278 Awesome❣
Such a pretty quilt and I Love learning this style of QAYG. I have never seen it before! Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you Sky! 😊
Brilliant! Thanks for this😊
This is genius, now I can see how to finish my medallion style tops. I could just surround them with strips of background fabric. Will work great for the Linus size quilts. Thanks.
What a fantastic way to do a quilt as you go. I’m going to use your technique from now on. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video and share it with us. 😊❤🎉
Glad it was helpful!🤩
I’m currently trimming some disappearing 9 patch blocks that had the original cut into 4 and then were stitched into a new block by some big brother helpers making a quilt for their baby brother. I’m trimming them all to 6”. I think if I use your method of drawing the grid on the batting and write a number in each section they can pick up sections sewn together and labeled with a number they can follow the numbers like you did and be done by the end of the weekend. So far we have been working on this for 4 months. Thanks for the inspiration and the fantastically helpful video.
YOU can do it❣️
I have never understood quilt-as-you-go before. Thank you for the information. 😊
You are so welcome!❣️
Great tips! Thank you!
Wow!! Seriously I needed this! I haven't seen this before and it makes SO much sense! Thank you for sharing this!!
I think i might like to try this as an actual log cabin. A single, large block may be a great baby quilt! I love that there are no sashing strips!
This is so brilliant. Thank you for sharing your talents and your time.
Going to try this for sure. Thanks for the demo.
Lol I remember back in 80s when we used surger to do quilt as you go in less than a day. Maybe Elanore Burns ?? Not sure.
I remember that❣️
Love this idea, amazing.
Great video! I want to try it with supersized blocks. 🙂April
OH YES!!! Great idea with SUPER Sized blocks...can't wait to see what you do❣️
I’m trying this method! So far, so good!!!! Ty
NICE! Your tips are a great bonus. Thanks, Tracey!
My goodness, how very clever , thankyou xx
🤩
Thanks for this.
Thanks for sharing. Love the tip about stitching around quilt when it's finished. Could have used that on my last quilt. Love seeing different ways to do QAYG!
I learned that tip the hard way...lol🤣
I have done a lot of QAYG techniques but have not seen this method. Love the possibilities useful for any size quilt. My first will be a baby quilt I need to get done! Thank you for all you bring to us!
Glad it was helpful Betty....I've never seen this technique before either...I figured if it works on a placemat then surely it would work on a small type quilt🤷🏻♀️ Once you figure out the placement on the graph paper then you should be good to go❣️
Love this idea. Thanks
What a great way to QAYG! My favorite quilts are patchwork, oh I cant wait to try this. Thanks Tracy 😊
Have fun with it April🎉
brilliant. i've been looking for a fast and easy , i have arthritis in my hands, pattern for charity quilts.and now i've found it. thank you
I make pot holders like this! it's like pot holders on super juice - love it! you are so creative! thank you
Thank you! 😊 (I love your name...I'm a "Mimi" to my grandkids❤️)
Just wonderfully clever. Thanks
Thank you for watching Sue❣️
Absolutely awesome technique!
Thanks so much!🤩
I always enjoy watching how you do things. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Linda...I really do appreciate your support❤️
Gasp! I absolutely love that crumb quilt behind you!! It’s beautiful.
❤️Here's the link to that quilt ruclips.net/video/_z_W4dpTzzw/видео.html
You could use your same grid method but cut your batt and backing to the grid strip sizes and use a serger. There are videos on serger quilt as you go.
Thank you for the tip Suzanne...I've wanted to try that with a serger but haven't yet🤩

Me too! I bought all the stuff to make a two sided strip quilt, but hvnt gotten to it yet. So many ideas, so little time!
Dots of colors!!! I have seen them before but never knew the purpose. after watching your video >>> I was hooked! I have so many block shapes, I'm ready to put them together. I will keep watching from Chicago
Thank you for this quilt pattern I can’t wait to make it
❤️
Love the way you teach step by step!
I loved this video!
❤️
I have done QAYG before but I love how you show that pre-organization could make this SO fast! I want to try a giant log cabin like this.
Awesome! You can do it❣️
QAyG
This one just WOWED me! I can’t wait to try this! You have so inspired me to try new techniques and arthritis friendly tools!!!!
Awe..thank you Jennifer for the kind feedback❣️ I appreciate it❤️
Very clever😊
Excellent video 👏👏 And who doesn’t have fat quarters 🤣🤣 Thanks for figuring this out for us 👍🇬🇧
Thank you Glynis❣️🤩 you know my brain never stops LOL🤣
Fantastic technique! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome Linda🤩
Brilliant idea again!I always avoided QAYG because I did not like the construction of the sashing bringing the squares together. I think this can be applied to any quilt of any size blocks.
You are absolutely right....any size pattern with any size block....✅
BRILLIANT!!! TFS! 💖🤗
Thank you! 😊
You are a genius! I would have never thought of this. I love, love your tutorials and think you are the best❤!
Thank you Sharon...you are so kind❣️
Genius level thinking!!! Your explanation really got the gears in my head spinning. TFS!
Glad it was helpful!❤️
I recently started watching your channel and subscribed. I have been watching your oldet videos and a lightbulb came on. I am going to try this QAYG method for a gingham quilt. I think planning it on paper will be fun. I cannot wait to see it come togethet... hmmmm now what colors? 😊
Wow!! I just realized yesterday why I'm a visual learner. My mom was an expert cook and seamstress but she couldn't teach me how to do anything. I watched her do it all and I guess I absorbed it through osmosis. That's one reason YT video tutorials really appeal to me. I wonder if this would work for log cabin style flying geese? Thanks for your generous sharing and imagination!!
I am a visual learner too🤩
As long as you are working with squares....You are good to go❣️
Thanks for sharing this was wonderful
Glad you enjoyed it❤️
Thank you for this. It works perfectly for the trip around the world quilts I'm making for my grandbabies.
Thank you so much for this technique! Quilting the entire project in this manner simplifies and saves time the quilting process.
Glad it was helpful!🤩
Awesome!!
Great video! Love this method. So smart! Great tips at the end, especially with the stray stitch. ❤
Yes, learned to take a picture and stay stitch the outside edges the hard way. Great video, thank, you!
Thanks so much Kris! 😊❤️❣️🤩
I learned the hard way too Julia❣️
Great video! Thanks for all of the tips!
You are so welcome!❣️
Love this. Think I will try making a place mat at first. Maybe use 2.5 inch squares. Happy playtime for the weekend!
Great technique! I have some quarter-square triangles that am sure I can use the same process…once they are squared up! Thanks!
great quilt, love this method, thank you
Awesome🤩

Just did a baby quilt last night and saw your video today. Great ideas. Thanks
@@flameshakk670Enjoy Florida for me to Bestie!
@@glendacrouch1877 Thank you Glenda!🥰
4-1/2” squares? Can you use 5” squares? Charm packs? The tip about sewing all the way around your finished quilt before binding is EXCELLENT! 👏👏👏👏
Sure...❣You can use any size block...I probably should have mentioned that in the video...🤷🏻♀
Great job. Please explain the stay stitch concept
It’s a simple 1/8” stitch from edge of quilt top. It holds the edges down for easier binding attachment✅
@@TheSewingChannel Thank you. Is it stitched after quilting and trimming the quilt top?
Stitched prior to trimming ✅
Thank you for this! You have such great ideas and are a good teacher. Love your videos. ❤
You are so welcome Rachel❣️
Wow that is a fast way to put it together
Much faster this way..perfect for a baby quilt....❤️
