I never use triggers in Intronaut, However I did in Exhumed and Phobia. I also use them in Murder Construct, but that's because the music is incredibly faster and requires more clarity in the kick patterns.
On the table is a cell phone which I'm running a click application called "Frozen Ape" Next to it is a sample machine to play intros and clips in between songs.
Love it. Seen them with animals as leaders, and meshuggah (without lead singet) in Charlotte NC earlier in the year i think or end of last. They are amazing live and caught me by surprise. Love you guys. Never stop playing!
Just because he isn't playing a lot of fills, blast beats, or double bass, doesn't mean that he doesn't have chops or skill; Danny's timekeeping is insane, and he plays some really tasteful grooves, especially considering a lot the stuff he does is polyrhythmic.
There are no signs of him over playing, perfect dynamics and groove. Played what the song asked, much like Tomas Haake or Danny Carrey. Too much brutality with pieces like this can ruin the feel or vibe. Thank you for bringing me back to this video.
Thak you for finally positing a real 'sick drummer'! Hopefully you have more footage like this rather than the ad nauseatum blastbeat crap that I learned how to play on day 1.
I have to lol when people have entirely overlooked skill and ability and judge things in terms of black and white. It's not fast enough or brutal enough. It's that type of limited perception that many people still think metal is just about screaming, hyperspeed and random noise. Open your fuckin' ears!
When will people realizing that being a solid drummer isn't about playing as crazy as you can; this guy could probably play 20 times better than this too. The song didn't call for it, this isn't a drum solo. Think you can play better? Make a song that better matches this track. I bet you the band would think you're trying too hard.

Just recently got a Samsung S4...started using frozen ape's Tempo for Android, it works beautifully! Thanks man!!!
Awesome song, love sick drummer for discovering new groups!
How refreshing to see a drummer that isnt blastbeating for 3 minutes
Yes! I was getting tired of all the damn blast beats throughout all the songs. Love it
Nice mixing sickdrummer! I love that you include the bass, guitar and singing more.

Intronaut is the fucking best, their show was sick, saw them in Santa Fe. Really cool guys. Buy their new album it's perfect.
Gotta love that you see his phone meteronome
Wow, that's like, almost 100 good!
Concetrated and powerful. That's how sick drumming is supposed to be
Why didn't they the other half of the song?!?! That's my favorite part !

Nice, very unordinary.
Anyone know what that thing is on the throne next to him, in-ears? click?
his cellphone, in case his mom calls
Does anyone know what ride he is using?
No random stuff... Really good play. +1
that cat killed it.
what kind of "mixer" he's using?

Thats good fucking drumming period!

Finally a non-generic "sick" drummer
Reminds me of Animals as leaders.

That keypad might have something to do with triggers, other than that, I don't know... :b
Dude this shit reminds me of Isis.
a little too fancy schmancy for me, needs more brutality
too much brutality? no such thing
