With a bike like this, I would only need to turn it on for some help on the climbs. I bet it would go much farther than 50 miles based on that. The lava color is great. I'd cover the blue with black.

Nice bike in a great color. I love bold colors on bikes. I was looking for a lightweight, low-powered city ebike. I didn't want to hurt myself on my first ebike 😂 But I ended up getting an Electra Loft Go 7D. It's a bit more pricey, but I wanted to buy local and there are a lot of bike shops in its brand network for service. Treks are beloved here!
Hard to find reviews for the 7D though, maybe because of the lower powered battery. Already got the bike, but I would appreciate a review as a new rider 😊

My first impression with Velotric is not good I bought this Velotric T1 the 27th of April 2024 so many problems I change the IOT module thinking the bike will be repair still problem with pairing, the technician are not the capable. This is my first buy online e-bike and I will not do it again so disappointed. • @MissGoElectricRideReviews

T1 ST is lighter, higher tech, better components and can often be found on sale at a lower price.
Soltera.2 has the built in screen for which some riders will prefer and it has Aventon's big network with Best Buy and hundreds of service locations.
Rider height is also a consideration when evaluating these bikes and their height ranges.
The choice belongs to the rider.

Velotric markets this as a lightweight bike for athletes. Some might say commuter bikes have comfortable seats and front suspension, built to take abuse from curbs.

My T1 had a battery fire. Velotrec did not honor warranty.

    • @MissGoElectricRideReviews
      @MissGoElectricRideReviews  2 месяца назад +1

The cause is crucial. The UL 2271 listed batteries which Velotric uses meet the highest safety standards in the land.
Usually battery fires are the consequence of tampering or damage. This battery is not made to be removed from the frame and is protected by metal in all sides. What happened?
Charging with third party or damaged adapters, storage in hot sheds or other very hot places (130F+), or lightning strikes are among the situations which are not related to the manufacturing.

I am a Veteran who sustained a crush injury. I have a Specialized Dolce Sport road bike and a Cannondale Tango MTB. I am only 5.2 so my standover clearance on my size 48 road bike is not great and even worse on my C'Dale Tango MTB. I am used to having little clearance but as a Roadie I can't bring myself to buy a step thru bike. I don't have the finances for a vehicle thus my bike is both my muse and sole means of transportation. Due to my injuries, I shouldn't stand out of the saddle to climb a hill. I have to worker twice as hard as other cyclists on group rides to keep up when hills are involved. I also live on a hill so no matter how tired my quads aren't, I will have to climb with loaded panniers of groceries. For a multitude of reasons I should get an e bike but as you know the MSRP for non step thru e bikes starts out around $3,000. I fell in love when I took a Specialized e road bike out but then my heart sank when I was on their smallest frame.
As a veteran I feel it is important to support local LBSs. Today I stopped in a shop to buy spare tubes, I could have purchased some online but I am so glad I didn't. There sitting in a corner was the lava bike. I didn't recognize it as an e bike, the bottom tube isn't huge like most lower priced e bikes. The geometry wasn't the best for a small rider but the best so far, even with more expensive brands.
Long explanation of my cycling needs and preferences, apologies. I ride with traditional Roadies who will bike shame me no matter what brand of E bike I buy but this model doesn't scream, E bike. I also like doing charity rides like The MS150 and this bike would allow me to do back to back centuries if I just used the battery for hills.
People keep commenting that this model without a display is a NO for them? As a Roadie, I have a bike computer, my smart watch pairs with my Android phone or if I really want more metrics I can use Map My Ride or a similar app.
Can you explain the rejection of this bike for not having a display? Is this populous unfamiliar with a bike computer and similar apps? I think I really want this bike but maybe there is something about an E bike's built in display that I don't understand?
With the settings in the top tube where a top tube bag would traditionally go, do you think you would miss it? I place a power bank in my top tube bag and charge my phone as I ride so I can use GPS or music. Do you think the handlebars have enough "cockpit space" to add a workout since a top tube bag would cover the settings?
Last question, since I prefer a less knobby tire like a Gator tire, could this bike be comfortable with it? Maybe the suspension complaints are from people who aren't wearing padded gloves, cycling bibs and chamois cream? Would I notice it? I often lock out my suspension on the MTB so I don't loose so much travel/momentum. I really use it when it snows, other than that my preference is a road bike.

Thank you for sharing your story.
We usually do not use the phone as the computer on here, though the system works well. We prefer the simplicity of riding without it. There are hundreds of options on the market for those who like a display and we have reviewed many at deals.missgoelectric.com
Surely there are some pouches which could work on this bike for a power bank. This is not a comfort bike, but it is nimble and lightweight. Those looking for comfort should see our eBike Buying Guide to learn about other categories.
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing our work with others.

I like the lack of display. Displays are really unnecessary and just take away your options. This bike comes with a phone mount in the center - no display in the way.

I'm a 74 yr old guy looking for my 1st Ebike to replace a Specialized carbon fiber gravel bike. My priorities are comfort, light weight (under 50 lbs), will fit into the back of my Kia Niro (already tried the Soltera - it fit ), stability and price under $1,800. My riding is 70% pavement and 30% urban gravel trails. At this point I'm interested in the Aventon Soltera 2.0 & the Velotric T1 ST. Leaning towards the Soltera due to lighting, computer, & throttle. I'd probably upgrade the saddle and go to a larger tire (40 or 42). Your thoughts? Are there any other bikes you think I should consider?

    • @MissGoElectricRideReviews
      @MissGoElectricRideReviews  10 месяцев назад +1

We have created detailed reviews of both bikes you've mentioned. The T1ST is 10lb lighter, has superior hydraulic brakes, and offers cleaner design. It offers a phone mount on the handlebars. We generally ride it without any kind of display. This eBike is not suitable for riders over 6ft.
On the other hand, the turn signals on the Soltera.2 offer extra safety for city riders and the built-in display is among the best in the business. It is 30% heavier than the T1ST (10lbs) and that is obvious when riding it...especially for somebody like you who is accustomed to a lightweight carbon fiber bicycle.
We have reviewed many other eBikes in this category but most do not have torque sensors for super smooth power delivery. At $999 right now for Black Friday...these are both an incredible value. There are no other ebikes in this category which we have reviewed and consider close competition.
Both bikes are on sale right now for $999. Our Velotric coupon code (MISSGOE60) makes the T1ST $60 less expensive. We do not have an active coupon code for the Aventon.

I spent many months researching for a lightweight (under 45 lbs), dual purpose (road, trails) ebike under $2,000 that I could fit into the back of my Kia Niro. After riding 4 bikes (Aventon Soltera.2, Trek Dual Sport +2, Velotric T1 ST & Propella C9 V2 Pro). All had similar specs in terms of weight and power, were nimble and easy to ride. Honestly, I like them all but I narrowed it down to the T1 ST & C9. Yes, a Vado SL undoubtedly would meet and perhaps exceed my requirements but it also exceeded how much I was willing to spend.
The Velotric T1-S1 is a very nice bike but had the shifting felt a bit clunky, there was some resistance while coasting, I wanted wider tires, and I preferred having a screen (rather than using my phone).
The Propella C9 V2 Pro was the only bike of five that I found no fault in for my wants and needs; plus the company store is less than 30 miles from my home. So I bought on of the last C9s V2s Propella had in stock - their May shipment sold out almost immediately.
Given the rough local roads and desire to ride trails, and wanting to minimize fatigue and discomfort, I added a Kinect suspension seatpost & stem.
I now have about 90 miles on the bike, mostly on paved surfaces but also 8 miles on single track. So far, the bike feels very solid. I'm amazed how well it handles both the pavement and "easy" single track (dry dirt with short but steep hills, moderate amounts of roots, & some rock). This 75 year old had not problem with either although I could have used a bit more "oomph" from the motor going up one of Seattle's steeper hills.
My only quibble thus far is that if I'm going uphill with no assist and then go into Pedal Assist, it seems that I need to increase my cadence a bit and it may take a full revolution for the PAS to kick in and when it does, there is a noticeable surge. I'm not sure ,but suspect this may be typical for a torque sensor system. Under most circumstance the Peddle Assist mode kicks in smoothly with a subtle surge of power.
To be sure, the addition of the Kinect Suspension Seatpost and Stem have significantly smoothed out the bumps making it very comfortable while only adding about 3 lbs to the total weight. I thought I might want to change the tires from the street focused CST OEM "cargo bike" tires but they roll really well, and had no problem on the single track so I'm gonna stick with them, at last for now.
So far I'm very pleased with my choice, hopefully it will meet my needs for the next few years and hold up well.
