Totally agree I enjoy the highs and lows of a few other youtubers as well... it's more I generally have zero motivation to film lol... I'm sure I'll get lots more heading into winter

I'm enjoying following you guys. This episode was in my old playground. I grew up in Edgecumbe & used to go fishing at Matata & Pikowai. You're right about being in the city. I find it depressing. 😊
They city is just so intense aye, from towing in, the the NZMCA I had about 3 cars trying to overtake me so dangerously, to going to the shops and having no idea how to get back to the caravan without my phone lol... Give me the small towns any day.

It's all part of it, I don't think the bad days make you appreciate the good days but to many bad days in a row really sucks the start of this video was the 6th day of wind and rain in a row and it was another week till it improved, just doesn't feel like anything to exciting to share in a video bad weather and sitting around... but definintley got the camera out for the half decent days

Yea man, holding down the fort in the wind and rain in a caravan def can be a challenge, but all part of it. I was pretty happy with how the video turned out, bit of a mish mash, but seemed to work out. Hope the South Island is delivering some goods for Ya'll.

Hey guys. Long time no see! I've been working some pretty brutal hours, so it's been kinda work, sleep, repeat. Can't believe it's been 19 months you guys have been on the road. Historical fact. Our family stayed at Tui Glen Motor Camp I think in 1967. I would have been about 6 or 7 years old. We had one of those little cabins as well as a tent site. Nice little view of the marina where my boat is when you were crossing the Tauranga Harbour Bridge.

We've spent a lot of time on couches and visiting people recently, currently parked up with Trevor and his family for a few nights, we'll wait for this southerly to bust it's way through. Thats cool you stayed at Tui Glen back in the day, That area must have changed so much in the last 5? years.
I grow up in Massey/Henderson and we use Togo to Tūī Glen as kids in the 60s. Shame we didn’t catch up when you were at Kawerau. Think we were at Hamilton. Team Kawerau Brian and Anna and GD Flynn.oh gee thanks for showing what wonderful pools we have.
the wind sucks... I feel like you never notice it more than when your camping... I've worked in it, gone to school in it... But 100% of your day outside trying to have fun in it, it's the worst... but 1st world problems...
Thats my favourite Dutch shop. Hagelslag is part of my stable diet😍 used to live in Titirangi. I agree terrible dumpstaion. There are not many in Auckland😕
Best bet for a dumpstation in Auckland is a holiday park I reckon... was def a good send off from Auckland, a dump station about 40% of people can use effectively lol... Kids are hooked on Hagelslag, they love it.
Wonderful video as always. I predict you won't stay in Rotorua for more than a few weeks. Accept the challenge. Go back to the South Island and have fun in the snow.
ha ha... Another comment who doesn't follow the facebook ha ha... Well and truely out of the BOP and into the Hawkes Bay now... We did last over a week in Rotorua though... Was a nice time to be back in our home town, a reminder of why we moved there in the first place.
Our kids are pretty awesome they don't mind the weather if there are other kids to play with. Looking forward to getting off the main road and into the wild again
yea mate, the West Coast is a Gem, it's nice to have the time to travel it, Imagine just having a few days on the west coast and it rained the whole time... I was well and truly over the wind and rain when we were on the coast during August and Sept. We did have some really nice days, but also some of the worst.
Oh Chur brother Charles, hope ya'll are doing good down in Rotovegas. Getting cold up there now... We're down in Hawkes Bay and 20 degress and warm... Getting cold at night though.
Auckland ! 😩a good place to keep away from, or get away from. Unless of course, you enjoy looking at ugly graffiti everywhere, being stuck in traffic jams, or living in a shoe box home surrounded by an increasing number of other shoe box homes.😭
Yea I don't handle it any longer than a day... Some good spots out at the Manaukau Harbour but thats ages from the CBD... Traffic oh man, so much worse when ya towing.
@@cedricsmith8821 My comment is about as bad as saying buying groceries in Twizel is really expensive. Auckland is a really busy place, and horrible to tow a caravan though, not only the congestion, but the amount of people who cut you off because your a slower vehicle. There are plenty of people who love Auckland and I've got plenty of friends who live there... your right Rotorua isn't that flash, it also has it's issues and good points like all places in NZ.
@@cedricsmith8821 that theme goes through the whole video of all the places we stayed. The Bream bay, normally a stunning beach, Auckland, Waihi... The video is titled when living in a caravan is hard, and this one's messy.... I think we show cased Piha beach well, and a bit of the Waitak ranges but the video was about the challenges and not so good times of full time travel.

20 metres Whakatane side of that Norfolk pine is a hole Ive hauled a few snap out of there this week 2 nights ago was a 54 cm snap

Was just in Whakatane last weekend catching up with family. Very chilled stay at Awakeri.
We would have been in Vegas... Awakeri would have been busy I imagine??? How were the wasps shocking when we were there 3 years ago

I think life on the road with three kids but get hard at times but your kids are amazing! We are currently at Totaranui so no complaints from us.
Our kids are pretty awesome they don't mind the weather if there are other kids to play with. Looking forward to getting off the main road and into the wild again
