Palmetto State Armory Krink - Addressing Major Concerns

- Hey everyone! So I got my hands on the Krink, and what a blast it's been. Right off the bat, there has been an emergence of issues coming out from the community, mostly concerning stuck casings and the accuracy. I specifically addressed these concerns, and the video will reveal all results. Overall, great buy, but do test to ensure you don't have same issues seen elsewhere. I do have an affiliate link with PSA, so please check out my linktree as it helps out a ton. My socials are listed here:

people are harshing the Krink for issues the Russians have known about since like...the 80's. the Krink was widely reviled by EVERYONE in the russian military for the same problems the PSA version has. it was loud, hard to control, flashy, and inaccurate. you buy the krink for the drip and thats it.
Originally, it was to defend your butt if your Mi-24 Hind went down in Afghanistan til help 'might' arrive. Then Spetsnaz realised a tiny AK74 existed haah...
No idea on any of the krinks other than my zastava m85. After 3800 rounds its been flawless, onlything i changed was the factory booster with a russian 4 piece booster, other than that all stock it kills the flash and the loudness for the shooter. And out to 300 yards I can with no problem hit a man size torso with about a papper palate size groups at that range.
Nobody ever said it was hard to control recoil is almost non existent
I feel youuuu that’s why bin Laden had one with a fatty Bakelite in all his pics for the drippppppp
the drip is unmatched
I spent less than 10 bucks at harbor freight for some bronze pipe cleaner type brushes and some 0000 steel wool and 45 min of my time to polish the chamber after watching HTownWerewolfs vid and I've yet to have a stuck case
good idea!
It's so strange that short AK goes so popular nowdays. When I served in RUAF back in 90s everyone considered it a joke or last chance weapon for tank crewmen. It was actually hated for it was unruly, loud and flashy. Nowdays, if you throw in some mods, silencer and stuff, the thing shines, but bone-stock Krink? Nah
bone stock, agreed, but look at my match video and youll see that i placed 32nd out of over 200 shooters and the match included several stages with shots out to 200 yards
Now you know how us GWOT boys feel about the AR platform lmao. MP5 all day.
its popular because of its icon status, not because its the best gun in the world.
I am SOOOOOO tempted for the 556 because of ammo price and availability compared to the 5.45
I think that's a good idea
If im going to get a psa krink it'll probably be the 300 blk version. 556 on a 8-9 inch barrel never felt right to me but with 300 blk, that might be really nice if psa qc delivers
brother is a certified veteran prestige master yapper
🙏🙏🙏
I personally think AKs are easier to reload, probably because I've run AKs for a very long time. But I find that AKs lock back while ARs lock up, and I find that very audible click when the AK locks back into place as very satisfying, whereas the muffled inside click of pressing the AR mag up kind of dubious. But, again, I don't run ARs much, so the controls are weird to me. I only recently purchased an Armalite.
For home defense, the Krink conquers all ! 😂
haha
Sounds like the cicadas are going crazy in the background
They sure are haha
Let me guess your in SC

Mine runs like a champ! Already over 1500 rounds it eats brass no problem and wolf steel 223 it even eats it just fine had some FTF when in the first 200 after that it’s eating steel and brass
hell yeah, glad yours is running great!
All the fan boys gobbled these up.
The real ones know to wait for .300 Blackout.
Y’all better get that twist rate right maybe talk to Kevin over at Q or something.
No way you just said this… 300blk? Seriously ? No the REAL ones are waiting for 5.45…
@@cjcullar well ya’ll gonna wait til next year and hopefully AAC can supply you with some 5.45 by then.
Just saying .300 blackout should do better at “Krink” length barrel more justice as opposed to 5.45 of which I don’t believe was designed for short barrels.
It’s like when the AKS-74u was conceived it knew one day it would have a distant third cousin that was born and raised in America that would get the perfect caliber and be that Top dog family member that everyone hates but yet they secretly all want to be.
@@cjcullarwhen’s it coming? Screw 5.56 and blackout
@@AKking530 not sure psa said it would be coming next but they are dragging their feet
@@cjcullarstill waiting
I want to get one of these in 300bo!
Save your money.
I bought mine and have put 530 rds through it. At 320 I had a real scare when I mag dumped 60 rds and took the dust cover off and bolt carrier out. So I could cool off the gun. When I went back to put it together the firing pin came out and the firing pin retaining pin. Luckily I found the retaining pin on the ground. At 320 that should not happen. It all comes down to QC at PSA they need to be on top of these things. Luckily when I got home I diagnosed the problem through the firing pin back in the bolt and hammered that retaining pin hard so hopefully it won’t come back out reached out to PSA and they where right back. So I’m a fan so far no malfunctions except that one thing that happened. My Krink is #606
I ran only brass cased stuff don’t have steel to try. With the surplus Russian 5.45 Plum mags with the pod arms conversion. It’s a Vibe
i have 210 rounds thru mine, 60 of those are steel case with no problem, gonna put a red dot on it and test accuracy, i tried 50 yds iron sites and it was all over the place. My krink is in the 800's (REDWOOD) also ran several different mags thru, no issues, it throws a heck of a flame and the percussion is intense!
glad you got yours up and running!
hell yeah!
@@Naumets1 U 🤡. Krink doesn't like fast shooting. Just RUclips search: разрушители оружия АК 74у. Russian Krink detonated at 290 rounds
I wonder if there will be a .300 Blackout version?
That is correct
Yes later this year
yes, theyve said one is coming
Looks real nice. But I'm not buying an PSA AK's until they address the issues with the rivets that M26 Lemon Grenade has exposed.
understandable. ive had 10+ of their AKs and rivets have never been an issue for me
@@taskforce316I just got one of this GF5? Would love some feedback
@@Gator69420 from what I hear, those are some extremely nice builds. Those CHF barrels are good to go
@@taskforce316 it’s a very well built AK this GF5! The fit and finish is about damn near perfect! Front sight wasn’t canted, the furniture is tight no wiggle, I checked headspace it looks good, ALG TRIGGER, FN chromed barrel 🤷🏼♂️ some people online guilt trip me about how they’re junk but I’m just not seeing it! All hammer forged parts
On this GF5 it says the trunnion is 4340 aircraft blended hammer forged 🤷🏼♂️
I think I’ll get a zastava next but I wanted to support an American 🇺🇸 company and I’ve been watching PSA for about 3 years! This GF5 is right there with Zastava in my opinion.
PSA had some issues earlier on and there’s been some lemons but I definitely got a good one
The mini beryl is hands down the best 556 shorty out there.
Yeah, if you can find one.
@@one-metallica4156 I held out for a while on getting one. But when they went on sale for $999 it was no brainer, they were on sale for a while.
Nobody wanted them when they were in stock.. oh well. Glad I got mine😂
yeeah, i think these are more for the nostalgia aspect and for the guys that want a chance to own the krink platform
Mini Beryl is my favorite I want one still
Do they all have a “CA” marking on the trunnion because mine does? You would have to lift up the dust cover to see it on the trunnion. Not sure if it means “California” for California compliance.
I live in Florida, and I didn’t remember seeing any options on the website for a CA version but it did ship with a 30 round mag. 🤷♂️
Just checked mine. There is a CA on the front trunion and bolt carrier. Bought it directly from PSA and had it shipped here to Montana. The description said nothing about Commifornia compliant. I think it means something else.
Unlikely, this firearm is not compliant in California no matter what without any options for fixed 5.56 ak 10 round mags and also the pistol roster also makes it hard to sell in ca
i dont think they made a CA compliant version
Genuine question. I live in san diego. You said this is a pistol. Legally can you have this on your ccw? It is a'pistol' after all
Has anyone taken these things to high round counts yet?
This is making me anxious to get the 7.62 version, really sucks how thatll be the 4th and last caliber iteration of the krink
They still didn't come out with the 5.45x39 yet.
Subscribed great video brother. Thanks for the shout out!
Thank you and thanks for initial information!
Is their version of Fakelite polymer or is it wood here?
its wood
is it good for short term combat or special operations
Will they ever make a version for 300 blackout?
Yes it's coming
@@taskforce316 yeah I think I’d rather have that than the 556 version
Good news, looks like it drops later today or tomorrow
Link for the optic mount?
Can't link unfortunately but it's the AK master mount rear biased version
Where is the 5.45?
Not out yet
They dimple the receivers into the trunnions yet and using swell neck rivets? Seems like their AKs start falling apart after 2k-3k rounds
No but at the NRA convention they said they are planning on doing it in the future
cant speak to everyones but for me, mine has been great so far
TULA AMMO WAS EVERYBODY PROBLEM NOT THE FIREARM 🤷♂️
i need to test some proper tula but i dont have any lol
Mine ran 4 or 5 mags of steel with not single hick up.
hell yeah
Do you have a link to the exact master mount you purchased? I just ordered a PSA krink.

@@taskforce316 AKM or Yugo? I apologize I’ve been out of the game for a while.
I’ve seen ARs run thousands a rounds of steel cased with no issues, they just need to be lubed properly
i think it came down to more of the type of material used and expanding when fired, causing it to get stuck
It's such a sexy gun, but I can't bring myself to purchase anything in 556 with less than an 11" barrel. Not even a mk18. Unpopular opinion I know.
Feel you on that, prefer the Colt commando over the DD MK18
look at my match video and youll see that even with the shorter 5.56 barrel, i placed 32nd out of over 200 shooters and the match included several stages with shots out to 200 yards
@@taskforce316 Yea I'm sure you can still hit your target(s), it's just that the 556/223 relies on velocity to fragment and when you drop below the 11" mark you lose a ton of velocity. No bueno.
How do the internals look?
good so far, pics at the end of the video
i gotta say this is kind of a dream gun concept for me damn
as for alot of people, which is why i am making the argument to buy this gun.
Mine eats steel or brass, it doesn't discriminate 😂. Got 1k as I counted on this particular carbine. Don't like that I had to sand the pivot pin to add my Russian 4.5mm triangle but besides that it's been perfect!
glad to hear!
You’ve got improper riveting and a shit bolt.
How so?
@@taskforce316 they don’t dimple the receiver to the trunnion and use swell neck rivets in appropriate places. They’ve had issues with excessive bolt wear in part the firing pin will migrate towards the chamber causing popped primers and broken firing pins. It’s not just a Krink issue, all their AKs are built improperly.
No biggie, just need to work out the krinks.
🤣
Zastava pretty much cornered and perfected the market on this gun.
i'd like to try one out
I really like the 556 mags but 25 bucks a pop aint worth it with the new Bulgarian polymer 556 mags for like 14 on gun mag wearhouse
same bulgarian mags is what I got for my zastava and they have been flawless.
agreed
Pull the PSA apart. It has a metal spine on the front and back, Around the bottom and top. And metal feed lips and lugs. Its an exact copy of true 100 series mags for 5-% the cost and made in the usa. They are very good.
@@elijahanderson6736 Like I said, I do like them. But you get the same quality reinforced mag with the bulgarians for half the cost,, and the come in three colors. Why would I pay 25-26 for a psa when I could get 2 bulgarian mags in green that have the same quality, are combat proven, and look better. If PSA would bring them down to around 16 each I would consider grabbing a few dozen.
@@elijahanderson6736 I may have to get a couple to try out then.

thank you!
The Russian army didn't like the AK74U it was loud , inaccurate and not that reliable either. They would ditch them for AK74s whenever they got the chance. Cyka was its nickname. It wasnt good at anything. The Americans are just going through their russian experience lol. Its a cool gun and its a vibe...thats really about it.
I just bought it for the drip…
look at my match video and youll see that i placed 32nd out of over 200 shooters and the match included several stages with shots out to 200 yards, but thats AFTER modding it with the Sureshot USA chassis
Heat expands steel. You're stuck case test is backwards. That's not low ready. Point the gun at the ground. Otherwise I like the video.
traditionally, low ready is at the base of the target, which is where i was aiming
is it atf safe?
yes, has a pistol brace
The GayTF 😂😂😂
subtle haha
Buying this makes zero sense to almost anyone. Zastava pistol in 556 (if that is what you want) is around $1,000. You could put a CNC warrior brace on it and still have 100 cash.
The ZPAP85 is not an AKS74u
@@sandwichartist5053 true, yet that setup is superior and you have 100 bucks and have one less psa
@@savageinstitute9569 this gun is for people who want an Aks74u. I had a zpap85 and did everything I could to make it as similar to an Aks74u as possible but I wasn’t satisfied so I sold it and I plan to buy this instead
I have an SBRd zpap85. It’s a great gun no doubt, but it’s not a krink. It doesn’t even begin to scratch the krink itch. I’m in process of getting one of these and SBRing it as well. Gimme all the AKs.
Looks good to me.
I’ll buy one.
GGG is Lithuanian made ammo not turkish. Also, wear eye protection
You're absolutely right, good call on the ammo
Bad PDW, bad infantry rifle, and middling at CQB but on top of all the gun smoke, frags and bullets coming in through the walls you can now blow out your buddies ear drums even faster.
Though to be fair we had the same issue with Mk18s...unsuppressed. Which is why youre not suppose to see them without cans otherwise same issue.
Funnily enough the AKS74U was supposed to be an experimental weapon, they put the booster on because of the horrible cycling and had to move the sights back which made them rivet the rear sights to the dust cover which made them further add a pivot point to it.
The Russians learned this in the Chechen Wars and even during the trials pretty quickly, buttttt...who gives a crap about any of them because I personally dig Krink drip, one piece FSBGBs, and the Eargensplitten Loudenboomer AK is great to make friends and enemies at the range
Guess our algorithm must be the same, seeing you here.
Not too surprised though
haha good information! again, all about the aesthetic
friends everywhere
They should offer one in 22lr
not sure it would do so well to meet PSA's threshold for development
I’d go with the Zastava m92 or m85 instead.
they dont hold the same nostalgia that the krink platform does
@@taskforce316 true. But I trust Zastava more than PSA.
@@one-metallica4156I’ve seen some pretty good reviews on them so far. But I get your point, if they would get their quality control sorted out so everyone gets as good of a gun as a lot of the reviews say. I have a 101 and just bought a krink from them. My 101 is doing great with 1500 rds so far
@@one-metallica4156this is a drip gun, pure and simple lol but I wanna get one nonetheless

this dude makes me extremely nervous
Why lol
Stupid gun. I love the PSA answered the call, but they brought on the crit knowing what a stupid platform this is...8" 5.56 has such little utility which means this gun is for the people who worship guns and decorate and play with them like toys.
you must be a youngster? I can remember seeing these first in the early 80's and have been wanting one ever since! same with the vityaz, two iconic Russian weapons from the past!
PSA made this in the besttway possible. the krink is iconic, and i dont think people are buying for any other reason than to just have one, and given ammo availability, they made it shootable too. they made the right idea
exactly, they are so iconic!
Pay a cheap price get a cheaply built weapon.
nothing about this rifle is cheaply built. i am very happy with the build quality
A couple years ago an “expensive” AK was still way cheaper then this Krink
