Apparently Rogues voice actor lost her niece just a few days before recording. That was real pain she was bringing up.

@@juniorgunter7123idk how soon it was before recording but the VA did conf on her IG thar she lost her niece recently and that was part of what made that recording so authentic

In X-Men The Animated Series in the 90s, Cable went back in time and kidnapped Wolverine and managed to make an antidote to destroy a virus that Apocalypse made. Before destroying the virus, Cable said : “The names Cable, remember it, Apocalypse!” Coincidently, Cable's first appearance in X-Men the animated series was in Genosha when he first met Gambit who escaped from the Slave Island. Cable helped Gambit unlock his collar which allowed him to rescue Storm and Jubilee and the other mutants as well. And now, Cable is voiced by Chris Potter, the original voice actor of Gambit.

Gambit solidified his position as one of the greatest xman ever
This episode had so many jaw dropping moments I couldn't believe.
From Jean and Wolverine kissing,to Cyclops snapping on the reporter,to the reveal of Madeline and Cyclops's psychic Affair,to seeing Nightcrawler and Dazzler,Rogue and Gambit breaking up,Rogue and Magneto's dance and finally that final attack by the sentinels.
This 1 episode surpassed the entire Fox Adaptation of the Xmen.

The lines, so many magnificent lines!
A lot of people forget Gambit is an omega level mutant but he had mister sinister lobotomize him so that his power wouldn't spin out of control..in an alternate universe he's one of the more powerful entities in existence
In return Gambit had to lead a raid against the Morlocks where many were killed. He always regretted that.
And Black Son was the alternate version of Gambit where he became so powerful, he destroyed everything. This is one of the things I truly love about his character though, he could easily be top tier power wise but he keeps himself debuffed for a reason.

That was cable sending a psychic warning to his moms from the future.
You start with "Oh hey is that the Watcher..."
Then you think "IS THAT THE WATCHER!?!?!"
"I can't feel you" then fade to black and the sad theme music, they were definitely trying to pull at the heart strings. My man Remy LeBeau getting his flowers, doing things in an epic way
The guy in gray running in the beginning on the bad guys side is Avalanche , also the blonde human supposed ,,that's Mystique for sure, she's giving little hints throughout the episode
1) Magneto having flashbacks to the Holocaust while the mutants were dying and screaming around him and then screaming "They shall be avenged!" was heart wrenching.
2) I think Jean and Madelin were having mental flashes of Cabal.. the "Don't tell me, show me!" makes me believe that was Madeline talking to Cabal in the future
The episode was fire from start to finish, and that moment when Magneto looks down at Leech who is looking up at his savior who is faltering in strength still reassures him not to be afraid...wow...
This is the millionth reaction video to this episode I’ve watched; I can’t re-experience it for the first time BUT I can watch other people react to it
that scene with Erik's eyes and Rogue's eyes. that whole "don't you dare, Erik!"; the "i'm sorry mom" .....

This is the E is for Extinction story arc with the Wild Sentinel directing the smaller normal Sentinels attacking Genosha.
Early in the ep: oh neat, it's one of those soap opera ones. I actually loved those as a kid. This should be fun.

10:47 The Mutant Massacre is what's happening. I'm FLOORED they actually had the guts to do this story. Next to M-Day, the Genosha genocide is one of the worst things to happen to mutants in the MARVEL universe.

Gambit wasn't a Morlock but his ties to them in the comics are a bit sinister. In the comics, it was revealed that Gambit helped Mr. Sinister recruit the mutants for his Marauders team. The Marauders are the team that Mr. Sinister sent to slaughter the Morlocks in the Mutant Massacre story arc.

This episode was insane!! I was balling like a baby. So hopefully Cable can try to come back again a bit earlier to prevent this much of a catastrophe. He did say"not again" and finally acknowledged his mom. OMG I just can't with Magneto and Remi...nooooo!!!

It’s been almost 2 days and I’m still aggressively not okay
Right after the scene Gambit tells Rouge we can be just friends, at the transition before the fireworks go off, you see the silhouette of the Watcher.

Seeing cable again was cool as hell but man this episode hit hard Gambit is one of my favorite xmen and hes a hero through and through .

The bad guy in gray in the opening credits is Avalanche. Mystique recruits him and Pyro for a mission in the 90s iteration of the show.

They keep referencing the Phoenix in the show. And I believe that it will show up sooner, rather than later. But for _Scott._
As for Maddie and Jean’s psychic shock - it’s hard to tell, but I speculate that Cable entering the timeline is what triggered the shock. Maddie is his mother, but since she and Jean are identical, the shock was shared by both.
We see Maddie in episode 1 using Cerebro and having a vision of the future, where she stands in a barren wasteland (of Genosha) before a face in the wind rushes at her, whispering “not again” before she is attacked by sentinels. The chanting from the song “Happy Nation” is present in the vision, and plays in full in this episode. This was a memory from Cable, and everything that happened in the vision took place this episode.
At least before she was killed, Maddie’s last thought was that her son had survived and returned to her.
Gambit definitely wasn't a Morlock. He was responsible for a lot of Morlock deaths though

When the Watcher is there .. be prepared for chaos.. and it was .. the former showrunner said he wanted you to feel The Holocaust, the Tulsa Race Massacre, 9/11 all in one. And he did it. I cried my eyes out

For a guy who's channels name COMIC PLUS doesn't seem to read a lot of the X-Men comics huh! Anyways the kaiju Sentinel especially from it's design could be reference to the issue of the X-Men comics E for Extinction where Xavier's(Professor X) sister was responsible for the genocide of Genosha, tho I'm not 100% sure if she'll appear in this series tho.

The reason i watched X-men 97 is because of Gambit. Since he no longer in the picture for future episodes, it's the end of my journey. I'll just read the spoilers from YT from now on.
While i know this episode will probably be undone in a futire event, I hope they dont reverse it in the next few episodes. Let the events of this episode breath a bit.

The hypocrisy that folks are hating on Magneto/ Rogue pairing due to age gap but they WANT Wolverine with Jean yet Wolverine is several decades OLDER than Magneto.
Make it make sense😂
NOTE: I am not pro- Rogue/Magneto relationship but that hyper-hypocrisy is astounding to say the least.

"Gambit was a morlock, right?"
No, but he cares deeply for them due to his past before he was a xman. When he was younger he couldn't control his power. He went to Sinister for help. Sinister offered to do a surgery on Gambit's brain that would allow Gambit control........BUT Gambit would have to do a favor for Sinister. He was to lead a group of unsavory characters, including Sabretooth, through the tunnels to the Morlocks. Gambit didn't know what was going to happen...........and was horrified that the Morlocks were being slaughtered. He saved one Morlock child (Marrow) while sustaining wounds from Sabretooth and the other characters.
He felt immense guilt for being a part of that situation for a very long time and it was a secret he kept close to his chest, even from the xmen, until is was revealed later on.
Fyi, in an alternate timeline, when gambit did not get Sinister's help. He eventually accesses his full power and becomes known as New Sun. He blew up his earth and destroyed the Phoenix Force.

this tri-sentinel was enhanced by the inspiration of the final titan, on the 'attack on titan" series finale.
this tri-sentinel was too enhanced for it to be constructed by humans... during this time period.
either it was from an alt. future or someone like apocalypse created it, to start a final war btwn mutants & humans.
this would explain cable's appearance.
