Wow you make some great points, I have done a free wedding this year and parade photos, prom photos, all free and more. Truth be told I am just now good enough to call my self a pro: now I need to learn the business end to help fund my passion
I've rented a couple lenses a few times, and it was a great experience. But I wasn't expecting this to be a masterclass in pricing work. Man, I'm charging waaaay less than I should for my jobs 😅
Yes! I have a rental coming up in a couple of weeks to try a new (to me) lens, one of the 1.4 Panasonic Leica wide angles. If it's good, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. If not, well, I learned something, and got to drive what is by all accounts, a great lens.
Great video and so true for anybody in business trying to price their work. It's easy to forget the value of equipmnet and overhead once it's paid for.
Your knowledge and expertise is amazing. You are helping photographers know their worth. Understanding cost is imperative to running a successful business.
Daniel thx for the insight, I have not thought about rental as a gage as a starting point for pricing. I have some of the same gear and use it in different situations and as I can see undercharging myself and customers. I learned from this video not knowing your baseline stop you from getting the top-line. Thanks for the information and inspiration, last I am in the market for a large bag I saw yours and wonder what the name is?
Pricing is so difficult. I am so glad that it was helpful! The bag in the video is Prvke Lite, but they do have larger bags. Also, I would check out the Shimoda bags. They are excellent too.
I def rent gear for several diff reasons its a great option to have.
It sure is!

Yes, the business is an art just like the photography.
Nice touch with the Spider-man tee🔥💯
@Uncl3Fac3 thanks. Gotta show the Spidey love!

Getting over the mental block of pricing is so important. I’m still working on it.
It it flies, floats, or focuses. Rent it. Do not buy depreciating assets. The "focuses" is another f from another quote.
Nice video buddy keep it up
Thank you so much!!!

I know the R3 is calling my name..
It was calling my name too, and then I realized that I don’t need it.
