I start my journey through the Tower Campaign "Dragon Slayers" for the Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Board Game.
playing on Normal difficulty.
I have to say it's great to watch your board games videos, the handheld shots in my opinion make it easier to concentrate on the content as opposed to an overhead view. Cool that I came across your channel, Keep up the good work Derek!
@zekron8450 Thank you. That is why I do the handheld shots for sure. I also am a bit too cheap to get a nice rig. . .🤣 I am glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for taking the time to watch me play.
Epic-looking game, Derek. That miniature sculpt with the horse with only front hooves on the ground is really nice!
@jonanjello yeah, very fun game so far. I will get back to it soon! Maybe I will make that one my "Main Hero" sculpt next game.
Instead of making the gameplay immersive and entertaining-especially important for solo mode-they position the player as the operator of the game. The player spends 90% of the time calculating, resolving, and laying out numerous components on the table. It seems that the game designers have lost their understanding of what a board game is. And it's not only about the Heroes of Might and Magic BG.
@dimaleoniv7987 I had not thought of it that way. I am enjoying the game quite a bit, more so now that I have learned more. It is a great point, though, that I am managing too many pieces and parts at once. I have now made over 6 of these videos and still make "little mistakes" every video because of something I forgot to manage instead of a continuous flow of the game.
I do still like the game and it drives me to play it more, I am going to stick with it, but it does feel I am juggling too much at once sometimes.
Just off the bat I noticed you gained a full level for that first combat when it would of only been 1/2 a level you only get the full level if the encounter is a higher level then your hero.
you also don’t get the spell power discarding cards that don’t have the + spell power symbol so your arrows were hitting to hard.
I think with those two things you’ll find the challenge raises quite a bit

@@derekvash no worries great vid! I’m really enjoying this game, I loved the computer game as a kid. And there’s definetly a lot of small rules that are hard to remember at times. I tend to always forget the ai deck against enemy heroes.
@qtherage7536 you may notice some skipping frames in battles against AI. . . that is often me re-filming because I forgot the AI cards! Haha. Yes. I loved this game as a kid, too. It's such a fantastic game.
Great video. Looking forward to see the fight against the Rust Dragons. I started with Solmyr and failed on my first attempt. You did well regarding the secondary hero retreat! However when you get to search the articact deck, you can either take the discarded top artifact OR you can draw 2 artifacts and pick one. You just picked the top one instead. :)
And a question: where did you read that you only get to keep 5 cards from your deck? I read the core rulebook, the rewritten rulebook and the campaign book but did not find this rule.

Seconds, as I state to everyone who reminds me of mistakes I make, thank you, ot helps me do better next time. 3rd, check the Mission Book in the Core Box, it is in the "Campaign Setup", I am not 100% sure which page at the moment, but it is the bottom of the page with the Mummy art.
