Thanks Cliff, another great video, very informative! Coincidentally my wife just made an appointment for me for 12/18 with a local hearing professional and they offer the Unitron as part of what's now accepted on our Medicare supplemental United Healthcare policy. I'm currently using Resounds (from COSTCO bite my tongue), and prior to this I was using STARKEY's Halo, so I'm a long time user of Bluetooth enabled hearing aids. Just not sure if the rechargeables will suffice due to the short battery life, so i might just go with the 312 batteries. Hey, it's the same size I'm using now! Thanks as always for your GREAT Content! Hoping one day to add some RUclips hearing videos to my channel!
Hi. Not sure if I am soon enough here but I just got a pair of these. They must have fixed the battery issue since this video because I have mine in over 12 hours and there is still 60% charge left. I am happy with them.
I'm in the trial mode. Have trialed two models of Phonak Marvel (top and one level below - both very good - can hear voices quite well but both had issues with Iphone - I could hear but the person on the other end could not hear me. I've been told today that this has now been corrected and needs to be fixed by the audiologist. However today I received my trial Unitron Discover. They are good also. Have only had them one day and haven't had any problems yet. I would really like to see a comparison of these TWO as they are definitely not cheap so it would be nice to see what each has compared to the other. I have searched the internet but these two models are not yet compared to each other. (I also had trialed another brand which were horrible, all voices were distorted and I couldn't hear them properly anyhow and everyone I spoke to had to repeat themselves and were as frustrated as I was). I have to make a decision within the next two weeks probably so would really appreciate knowing if there is a comparison between the Phonak Marvel and the Unitron Discover available anywhere (behind the ear but using batteries - not rechargeable).
Dr. Cliff...I am currently wearing a set of Unitron T-Moxi Fits on a 1 month trial basis...after watching many of your videos you convinced this 63 yr old retired south Louisiana firefighter to go to a audiologist before any purchase...Thanks and I did!!! my audiologist diagnosed my hearing loss has atypical moderate to severe mid range hearing loss...I have to admit my wife and family were right...i have been missing alot with my hearing loss... my question to you...this is my first time to wear hearing aids and Im looking for your recommendations and comments as to the devices I'm wearing now...battery operated 312...not looking for devices with all the bugs and whistles...just a solid pair for a very active senior citizen...my wife and I love to hunt fish and play lots of pickleball...and travel as much as possible... sorry its so long ...but i really do like your videos and look forward to hearing from you soon... Could you do a video on Frequency Therapeutics and the new drug they are coming out with (hopefully it pasts tests) it’s supposed to stimulate dead hair cells
Hi Dr Cliff, and thanks for the informative videos! You do a great job. I have the Moxi Jump R hearing aids, this morning after charging them all night, when I opened the charger 1 of my aids was flashing green, and the other didn't have any lights on? Recently I took the aids on holiday with me and now I'm not sure now if I mixed up the original usb wall plug and usb cable for the charger, is this important to have the original usb cable and wall plug for the charger to operate correctly?
I bought it from 富聆. This is the most trash hearing aid I ever had. I am not sure if this the problem from my new audiologist or it is about the hearing aid itself. The sound is loud but I totally cannot understand the conversation.
Dear Dr Clifford, Great in depth reviews and you are very knowledgeable. Keep it up! Question: How long is the warranty on the device and what if the rechargeable battery stops working? Any likelihood of having remote assist or tinnitus suppression? Is R9 significantly better than the R7? Mahendra Mehta, MD.
Thanks Mahendra, the warranty usually depends on the level of technology. The higher the tech level, the longer the warranty. Usually 3 years for the highest level devices. Not sure about the future of remote assist or tinnitus. R9 vs R7 depends on if you are okay with your hearing care provider being limited on how they can custom program your devices.
Thank you for a timely response! I guess R9 moxi jump has the highest technology. And adds clarity when in a crowd that discover 7- that has lower technology! Thank you!!
I was so unhappy with the very limited battery life on my ReSounds that I took then back to Costco and had them removed! They we’re not lasting 12 hours between charges! Much happier changing #312 batteries every 3 -4 days!
They told me that it should last at least 18 plus hours, but depended upon how much streaming I'd be doing. I'm on my I phone and other streaming all the time. They only gave me one set of rechargeable batteries, so I was always running out of power. @@DrCliffAuD
I love my Unitron aids, but the charging station sucks , . some times it makes contact and more times I have to remove it and reinsert and watch it for 15 min. to make sure it is charging. My aid suplyer said I needed to clean it with a dry cotton swab , no help at all,any suggestions?
I like that you can upgrade the teir later down the line. Am I right in thinking that even though the marvel r is the same chip upgrading later isn't an option.
Can these be connected to two bluetooth devices at the same time, like a phone and a laptop? Or must the user disconnect from the phone to connect to a laptop? Thanks.
Hi, rechargeble lithium ion technology in hearing aid is the new trend, So is it possible to recharge this hearing aid Safely with "Power Banks" that we normaly use to recharge Mobiles.
Phonak do a battery that clips onto the larger style charging case. Not sure if using a 3rd party power bank would void any warranty if something was to go wrong.
let me see if I have this right. If I have resound quattro 5 and I want it upgraded to a 9, I dont have to buy new hearing aids, just get new software? And if so who would do that? Thank you
@@DrCliffAuD Thank you.I dont know what to buy my hearing aids are Unitron and have worked well for years people I bought them from have the quattro and thats ok but there are others I know. I use a battery but recharge would be ok.

bluetideuk wow i didn’t know that you could get the mini charger in place of the standard. I will have both as of 8pm tonight. I could not dream of not having the standard charger since it has the dryer tab
I'm tired of videos on BTE, why is this form factor being pushed by hearing aid companies and providers? Isn't there other options? I guess we'll have to wait for them to tell us IIC or other form factors are the future again... Not everyone wants to wear hearing aids over and behind the ear. It is like having eyeglasses vs contacts.

I have the marvel r30. I'm finding the battery is just about right it lasts me all day though if I have done allot of streaming I have them die in the evening so couldn't imagine having something with a smaller battery. The Bluetooth is hit and miss, streaming music works most the time though keep cutting out is in my right pocket( I only wear one in my left ear.) Also I'm finding with only wearing in one ear is some parts of songs go unheard as they are on the right stream which I don't have!. Bluetooth calls unless I'm in a silent room people complain of a bad line and can't hear me over background noise. I had a checkup today an had some reprogramming done(which I hope improves my hearing of speech) and my audiologist tried to suggest the reason the person on the other end can't hear me well is I need to hold my phone directly Infront of my face this can't be right.
bluetideuk the one thing I learned is to make it so audio only plays off on side in your phone system settings. That seems to fix the dual channel to mono problem
The hearing aids work, the software is crap. They will not connect Bluetooth on my Samsung S21 phone. Installed and re-installed several times. Comments on play store show I am not the only one with this issue. Upgrade your video to show software and connectivity issues. Bad user experience can't use for calls or streaming.
