One of only a few guitars that I’ve heard plugged in that I thought sounded great. A beautiful sounding 12. Appreciate you taking the time to upload this one, Ms Cindy 👍🏻
That guitar is unbelievably beautiful and sounds awesome, both plugged and unplugged! The only other negative (in addition to the strap button position) may be changing the strings. 😆
That is a gorgeous sounding 12 string. The electonics are very nice. Recording sounds sweet. Thanks for sharing. I might get out my Yammy 12 string tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration...😊
Nice. I looked up the wood data on the Pau Ferro. Very similar to Madagascar RW and Osage Orange. Not always indicative of sound quality or characteristics , but the PF seems to be more available (sustainable?)at a cheaper price. The sound for that price is fantastic (and the pickup as a no cost option!).
A beautiful sound ,plugged in,thanks so much ,for the videos Cindy,I tuned my 12 string down a full step ,and play with a capo on the second fret, which brings it to normal tuning, many thanks
@@krisverding3908 that’s a good question. Definitely it will give some tension relief to the neck and top but unless your tuners are worn out and slipping I would say it should not make a difference to how well it stays in tune. Best way to know for sure is test it out. Maybe another subscriber has thoughts on this. 😀
I have been looking for a new 12 string and really couldn't find anything I must have...and after getting my Riverboat it only made sense to order there 12 string for what you get for the $$$.. you couldn't go wrong. Your videos just made the choice soooo 4 much easier.
Thank you Cindy, I use the new Fendar 15 watt acusticsonic....if you ever get a chance try it.... half the price, but not battery operated. I bought the Riverboat... used...love it!..... great price. Also don't give up on Eastman, try a Anna. Spuce top....with the flamed mahogany back and sides, sounds better that sikta, rosewood. I think you will like it... love it when you travel to different shops! ❤❤
I'm on my 4th twelve string. Your playing a style I use to play. You give me inspiration to use elements I forgot about. I'm curious to know how many guitars do you have in you arsenal?
I was so curious about the guitar weight and found my 12 string MacMarr to be approximately 5.5 lbs. my builders edition Taylor 12 string (12fret) around 5.25 lbs. my vintage Takamine 12 string is the lightest at 4.75. It has a pickup too 😀. So I think the weight is probably typical of a 12 string guitar. Thanks for making a note on this❤️
Beautiful 12 string :) I have an Epiphone 12 string I purchased at the Gibson Garage a few years ago when they had recently opened up. The low E, A and D strings always sound odd to me though with the octaves when I’m playing it so I removed the nut and made one from a bone blank to cut the slots a little differently. I basically went down to 2 sets of 10 gauge strings and strung it up with each pair of strings I guess in unison? Anyhow, now it simply sounds like a 12 string perhaps with a chorus pedal lol. I used 10 gauge so the tension wouldn’t be too rough on the neck if I were to use 2 sets of 12’s, I also dropped the tuning on it a half step as well. Anyhow, yours does sound very nice going through the 5 watt and nice playing too! Have a great day 😊
Is the neck wider than the Taylor 12 string? The Taylor seems smaller overall to me though I’ve not played one (12 string Taylor). I have very small hands and it seems like it might not be the easiest to play (the neck of the MM). Sounds great though and nice looking guitar ❤ I do also have the Baby Boat and love it!
Bothe the Taylor and the macmarr use 1.88 It’s common neck for a 12 string. Guild is known for booming 12 strings… they use 1.88. It is a bit of a stretch but even with small hands it’s doable once you get use to it. ❤️
I never use a capodastro on my double-six ... It does something to the sound I do not prefer and it is far more harder to stay in tune ... I tune all my guitars mostly in standard D# or D that makes the bassline much intenser

Good Lord, why do 99% of 12-string models have the heaviest tuners on them? This set of tuners is 400-500 grams, while it could easily be 250-300 without sacrificing quality, but improving the tone and ergonomics. Great axe nevertheless.
I weighed the Mac Marr and it’s approximately 5.5 lbs. I weighed my Taylor (12 fret) 5.2 lbs. I weighed my old vintage Takamine 12 string it was 4.75. So it’s not unusually heavy. In fact the Grovers on the Mac Marr don’t look like the old super heavy Grovers. I remember those. 😀 thanks.
@@guitarnotions Of course it's not unusually heavy, since all the other guitars you speak of use heavy tuners as well.😛 Yes, these are mini rotomatics or something like that.
@@guitarnotions Thank you! Did you ever play 9-string guitars? They're like 12-strings but 6th, 5th, 4th strings are single. Furch makes such guitars. I played a couple of 12-strings, and it always bothered me they had no low-end, cause strings are veeery thing and each one is doubled. I imagine a 9-string is a perfect hybrid!
@@LegsON I have not played a 9 string. I have played a Baritone 8 string it was awesome love those Furch guitars. I will have to watch for a 9 string❤️

Does tuning down a full step make a 12 string stay better in tune ?

a lot of weight is in the tuners ... and since you have twelve on this one ...
@@rik_mr.aap866 I suppose you might be able to she a few oz with other tuners. But 5.5 lbs. I am good the way it is 😀❤️

Now that I'm older, I'm gravitating to smaller bodied guitars. I started out liking jumbo guitars.
I love small body guitars. I played my baby boat together with a jumbo player. It definitely kept up and added to the mix❤️
Downturning to D on a 12 string helps the neck enormously and also requires a capo most of the time
not if you know how to transpose your chords
It’s good when you find ways to capture the sound that inspires you😀

Hi what capo are you using on the 12 string? The one I have is useless. Thanks
