I wish they covered more about the partnership formed with farmers in Mexico. Supporting farmers by creating a market for them to pre-sell their entire harvest as a way of preserving local traditions is a business model that I support wholeheartedly.

I'm late to the party, but I have to say that Rancho Gordo beans are not some gimmick. I thought I didn't like beans, but these are a game changer. I'm a newbie and I'm already addicted. I've introduced other people to these beans and everyone is sold.

One of my favorite places to buy heirloom variety of beans (we eat a lot of beans) is Rancho Gordo over in Napa. Was overjoyed to see todays CBS Sunday Morning show had this nice segment on them.

Well cooked legumes only give you gas when you aren’t use to taking in that much fiber. After around 8 weeks it should go away

If you cook beans with epazote which is the traditional way for thousands of years, you don’t have as much gas or digestive issues. Epazote is an herb, really easy to grow and can find it often in Mexican markets sold as dried and sometimes sold as frozen larger leaves. I don’t eat beans without epazote.

Maybe, someday I will be able to enjoy those beans?... I felt the same way about the adverb choice. I think, it was magical because of the nursery story, "Jack in the Bean Stalk." Flatulence was giggley amusement to our ears. Plus, beans are healthy! I still find food exciting and fun, because of child like wonder, which never fades, through I do age. #methanefuntimesofyore

Taste is clearly a subjective thing. I've been a bean club member for a few years now, and in that entire time, I've only come across one variety that didn't appeal to me.
