Great to the Point tutorial! Definitely the best video for using VocAlign in Pro tools. Plug-in understanding and workflow were super helpful. Cheers!

curious how this goes up against the old Vocalign Pro. I want Ultra but at almost $300 i dunno

Depends what you want out of it. Sonically, they are the same. I never found Vocaligh Pro's extra features that helpful, so for me this worked amazingly (and VAP5 is now miles better then VAP3 as well). That being said, you can adjust things better with Ultra, and use the tuning feature in Ultra as well, which this does not have.

Just got VocAlign on sale, for some reason when I capture the audio I can’t see a waveform and can’t listen to a preview. It still renders an aligned output but not being able to see the waveforms is a tad annoying. Any idea why this might be happening?

Oh no! So, first thought is the zoom setting, is it zoomed in to far and are you viewing the scilence before the track actually starts. On the plugin you can move around on the view to see the waveforms. It doesn't automatically show you just where the audio actually is, you have have to scroll over and find it. You can use the scrolling bars to do that and the + - buttons, or I believe it's Shift + Scroll wheel to scroll along the VA timeline as well. Hope that helps!

When I use this I can no longer hear the guide. I thought bouncing it in place might help, but it doesn’t. I’m not tech savvy at all so I’m sure I’m doing something stupid (or not doing something obvious.) Any help would be appreciated. Keep in mind I know very little tech lingo and I use Logic Pro. I also don’t have a “render” button for some reason.

No problem! The process between Pro Tools and Logic is actually a bit different, and I have a video on this exact same thing but using Logic, have you checked that one out? See if that helps clarify some things, and it will also explain why there's no render button, because it's a different workflow there that "automatically" renders things until you bounce in place. That video should be fairly easy for you to follow along, so let me know if that helps!

yesterday I bought project v5 and can't get it to work in PT. I can capture guide, but as soon as I try to capture dub my session crashes.....

Hmmm very strange! I’m guessing it’s the latest update for VocAlight, but what version of PT are you running on what OS? Try consolidating the selection you are going to alight before you do the captures, and see if that helps, VocAlight had a glitch for a while where it would do that if it wasn’t single files that it was capturing.
