  • I was left some material from another project and felt it was a good time to make some of the first real parts on this thing!
This turned out to be a great beginner mini lathe project. It provides a lot of opportunities to test out the precision you can get out of thing thing if you’re willing to put in the setup.

Successfully made it past the “random guy in my house” category and firmly in the “friend” category!

    Dude, that's really lovely!
My one bit of advice (only from a hobbyist about a year or two further into this sort of thing) is to try not to rely on putting centre drills and other cutting tools directly in the 3 jaw. It's kind of what people do with mini lathes, but any drill or milling cutter will be much harder than your chuck jaws, so the grip won't be that good because the clamping area is pretty small. I'm not saying don't do it, because you clearly got away with it in ally, but for other materials, it's not great.
I'm loving your channel so far and looking forward to seeing your next projects.

Hah, you have dad jokes. Referring to the drilling operation as "the boring part" lol!

The only problem I noticed was at the end. You used the wrong hand to demonstrate the pen.😂😂😂
