I watched your vid, I then went to iMovie to do subtitles, worked great. Came back to give you a YT shout out and dangit- now there's an easier way! Thanks for this vid... and the next one I'm going to watch.
So the kapwing subtitler doesn't seem to like lyrics to music. So I have to use this method manually. I'd like more than one line of subtitles per slide.....the background transparencies are only one line tall.....
Thank you, this is really helpful! Since having to start putting many things available for digital consumption, I've had a steep learning curve. Following your tutorials has been extremely useful!
This was great. I couldn't resize the downloadable background to exact dimensions as I needed two lines of subtitles. But your proof of concept was perfectly clear, and I was able to make my own and use it as you suggested. Thanks for the great hack.
What happened to the Subtitles Graphic Pack that was linked in the notes? I hit the link which led me to Dropbox and that indicated that the files were deleted. What's the point of showing this video if the files you are recommending to use are not available?
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! These tools super helped and I am just so grateful to have found your video and your channel!! Subscribed and will definitely recommend to friends! Keep up the GREAT work!
@@VideoZeus thanks! I was just trying out the graphics and trying to figure out if there's a way to change the black line to white? Or do you have the graphic in white?
@@VideoZeus thank you! The black just doesn't go well with my video but I was trying to find another way to add white and couldn't figure it out to do something like you did. If you do add white that would be amazing, if not I totally understand. Thanks for the communication, so appreciate it!
Subscribed...Wow thanks for sharing. I have been struggling with my subtitles in imovies using the titles only but this black box helps a lot. Thanks for the trick. I’ll be implementing this on my new channel vlogs ;)
Thank you very much for sharing - both the graphics - and the tutorial! GREAT HELP 🙏 One problem though.. how can I make it work when I choose a SPLIT SCREEN setting?
Hi, in your option, is that better to use Final Cut Pro rather than iMovie, especially on the add subtitles task, is that any ways to custom the size of the text ? thanks
Hi there! I downloaded the graphic from the link in the description but when I'm trying to import it to iMovie, the png does not appear where it should. Has anyone else had this problem????
Thanks for this and the downloads. I was able to follow your instructions easily. One problem I have - maybe I talk too fast - is that I can't create a two-line subtitle. Instead I'm cutting my sentences in two to keep them to one line, but the text changes are about every 1-1.5 seconds, which as a viewer I find distracting. Taking the font lower than 50 would reduce readability, I'm guessing.
Hi Brian, Thanks for sharing the template, I used the faded strip for two videos i made in I movie, however I can't drag and drop the faded strips in project media. Could you please suggest what could possibly cause this?
amazing, thank you this is very clear!!! I'm curious though as to how RUclips does their subtitles? like if you turn on subtitles for any RUclips video, the black that contrasts against the white subtitle text is almost transparent
RUclips will automatically transcribe your videos into captions if you tell it to during upload. You can also edit the captions yourself after uploading. In addition, check out Kapwing.com for an easy free captions tool.
Hey, I have downloaded the Free Subtitle Graphic Pack from your link, but I just can't import the pictures into iMovie. I have no problem in importing jpg. Can you help? thanks!
Very helpful, thank you so much! I did what you suggested, but then I cannot add the black bar over a picture. I have to chose between the picture or the bar since they are both pictures. Is there a way to overlay the bar over a picture? Thank you in advance!
@@VideoZeus I just saw the video you mentioned and it is not what I am asking. Maybe it is not the right video? ruclips.net/video/IbbqmPoK_Cc/видео.html I have a video where I insert an image for a short time just to illustrate what I am saying. I want the subtitles to still be on the picture because my audio is still going. But I don't know how to merge/overlay the bar (with text) within the image. Do you think I will have to merge the images outside imovie (together with the text) and then import them as one image?
Hi Brian, just what I was looking for! Are all the downloads that you soundly provide on black stripe or are there ones with only white text? I didn't want to mess with testing as I followed you tutorial:)
@@VideoZeus Thanks for your quick reply! I want simple white text like you are using, I just don't want them on black. Like it looks in the video before you add your template. Don't like the fade(like you) that iMovie has, but like the lay out.
@@VideoZeus Thanks for being such a hero! What I am trying to get, is the text not to fade and when I insert your template pic-in-pic, that helps. If I only use iMovies features, it fades. I guess I have to build my own captions on transparent and use pic-in-pic to insert. Sorry to trouble you with this.
Is there an updated Subtitle Graphic Pack? When I try to download the current one it says error and I'm having the most troubling time getting subtitle backgrounds elsewhere.
Instead try this. It’s much easier. It’s free but only applies to videos under 7 minutes in length or under 250mb in size. ruclips.net/video/9uAneQxhnW4/видео.html
