Hello! For this class, does it make a difference whether you have it on Monday (before PHYS 158 lectures) lectures or on Friday (after the PHYS 158 lectures)? Does this class build off of what is learned in PHYS 158 lectures making it easier to take after you've had the lectures? (The tutorials are easier to do later in the week after the lectures so I'm wondering if that is the case for this class and PHYS 158)
To be honest, while there is a slight correlation in content between PHYS 158 and PHYS 159, it doesn't correlate that well so you don't need to worry about it too much.
Hello! How long do the pre-lab activities take each week? Side question: Also how much is the late deduction? Is it x% per minute late? Or is the lab capped at a certain percent? What if you submit on time but your partner submits late? If your partner's labs note is the one being graded, does the late penalty apply to you too?
Pre-labs are pretty simple and don't take more than 30-60 minutes per week. If you or your partner submit your lab notes late but have a somewhat decent reason for it, you can write it in the "Comments" section in the Canvas assignment after you submit it so the TA that marks your lab knows. Most of the time, they'll be understanding of it and mark it as normal. They probably won't penalize you for submitting it a minute late, but you'll need a good reason if you're submitting more than 5-10 minutes late. But everyone is usually able to submit on time (might not be the best quality, but better done than perfect). Hope that helps!
Hey Avery, I just came out of my lab and that was the most intense 3 hours of my life. any thoughts on how to I don't know be faster. How much does this course affect the overall average? Thanks
Dont' worry man, it WILL get better from now and you'll start to get used to what you have to do. I'd suggest having a template that you can copy and use for most of your labs (it'll save you a little bit of time). Not really much else more you can do since pretty much everything is done in-lab. Because this is a one-credit course, it doesn't weigh as heavily in your overall average compared to all your other courses, so it won't affect your grade too much if you don't do as well as you hoped
I'm gonna be in PBME so how hard do you think the workload will be for me? I already have credits for math 100 ( AP Calc AB) and have completed math 101 independently
I was not in the PBME stream, so I can't really give the most accurate info. But pretty much it's around the same as the regular engineering stream. You don't take a few of the core courses, but you do take two CHEM courses in Science and two BMEG courses. Again, that's all I know about the PBME program because I wasn't in it and can't speak much to it 😂
I wonder if anyone noticed a difference in the camera quality...😉
more sharp and clear
Woah, you're channel's seriously grown last time I checked, along with your quality of videos. Impressive stuff. Keep up the A+ content!
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
i dont want to ever see the inside of HEBB216 ever again
Bruh I had my PHYS 170 tutorial in the same room as my PHYS 159 lab and it gave me PTSD seeing all the oscilloscopes and stuff in there
