Hello, how do you rate “kalour” brand, please ? I’m considering getting the 520 tin

Hi :) i have the kalour 72 set... they are good (similar feel to faber castell the red classic line for kids) i personally prefer the brutfuner set over the kalour (smoother) but the problem with all these budget friendly brands is there is no quality control... like you can have good and bad batches...and you can have a lot of pencils that have broken led or scratchy.... they are not consistent in their production....
you can buy the prismacolor scholar set...they are fantastic... i have the premiere and the scholar ,and they are pretty similar (of course the premiere are just a little but softer and some colors are more vibrant but over all they are very similar)...
      i hope that help :)

Usually I have noticed that when I try to put so many layers, the paper does not take so many layers .....why does that happen?

I am not Gemma of course, but in my experience, it comes down to a variety of reasons. There are two really big ones though. One could be that you are not using enough of a light pressure. If that isn’t the issue, then another major issue would be, the paper itself, not having enough tooth to handle many layers.

@FernCurtis thanks for your help....will try to reduce the amount of pressure. If it does not work, will change the paper and check out.

@@rajanig4421 You are welcome! Also, remember what Gemma did in the video, so that she could lay down light layers. She held the pencil back on the barrel a ways and didn’t hold the pencil close to lead until she already had many layers down and was ready to start filling that tooth. Holding the pencil further back on the barrel like that, it is impossible to use heavier pressure.
