- I think I'm becoming the $5 a Day Investing Guy - and I love it! But...what happens when the stock market DROPS and you end up NEGATIVE. Was the $5 a Day Investing even worth it? How do you do that? My brokerage (Charles Scwab) requires that buying ETFs must be in full shares and no dollar cost averaging. ???

@@bonanzatime if you buy their mutual funds like swppx (which is schwab's voo) you can buy partial shares

The market was hell bent on rate cuts and now the Fed said “nah.” Of course theres gonna be a pull back.
Those rate cuts are priced in at the beginning of the year which they said was A. I. Bull trap rally. There’s definitely a 10%-20% panic sell off when JPow announced a rate hike of 100 Basis points.
The more you invest the more you appreciate downturns. Just lowers your average dollar cost. 👍
Don’t view it as down, look at it as if the stock was on sale.
I’ve been doing the $5 a day challenge since July. And it’s probably the best thing I’ve done on a consistent basis. It might not seem like the gains are much but it has gotten me to start to focus more on investing and saving for my future. I’m super happy that I stubble on to your videos.

I know the market is down, so as an Aussie thinking of doing the $5 a day ($8 aus) in SCHD lol. It's easier to buy US at the moment as Australian stock market needs a $500 min buy in.
Is there any others that might be worth looking at? The SCHD is roughly 5.3% returns in $aud. Mix that with our all index S&P 200 with a 4% returns and that to me seems pretty strong.

Can't have higher lows without an occasional leg down.
I could not agree more its really about how many shares u have in VOO or any stock to see massive long term growth .And here is why lets just say u have 100k Just into VOO when the stock market does good those gains are going to be so massive in 1 day that u will thank yourself u still invested money into the stock market.because people might not think its possible but that 5,000 u have now in just too 30 to 40 years from now for me it could be 1 million plus in reward.

So is the market about to drop like in 2022? Because I lumped summed 3.5k into SCHD and 6k into qqq, so far I’ve lost 600 and if it’s just going to keep going down I might as well sell and buy when it’s low like in 2022, there’s no point in waiting over a year just to break even again
Because of your video im investing $5 per day in a brokerage account and an ira. Yeah its not a lot of money right now but i plan on putting more in each month in a couple of years. Thanks for the push Bob.
During these long slides when I was just getting started, I made it a game to try and make sure with every monthly statement that my portfolio value did not reduce. In other words, if it dropped, I put in more money. Eventually the portfolio got large enough I couldn't win at the "don't let it drop" game. But that means I won at the investing long game.
We are lucky for gaining cheaper price spots. 😁🙏🏾

I have subscribed to your channel and your discord channel just because of your honesty, I think that I am going to give up my Starbucks Coffee for $5.00 a day towards a solid dividend stock SBUX. Get it? SBUX is Starbucks. I'm using myself as my market analyst. I love Starbucks just like you and many, many more. So, instead of drinking away my $5.00 I am investing it in SBUX. Let's see where this goes in a year.
I started buying Bitcoin & Ethereum since 2018, not much just $50 a month alternating between BTC & ETH. My portfolio was in the negative for 5 years. However, my portfolio is up 73% as of today.

We are putting a lot into FXAIX and SCHD and a few others. The thing is we have no debt no mortgage and a decent emergency fund. If our investments went to zero we still will own our home and feed our faces. But still I think we all need to hear the old saying, invest what you can afford and buy low sell high.

Imagine you invested 5 a day for the past 2 years just to find out you gained 17% and all is worthless because inflation is running high and keeps going higher, and literally, you avoid buying that coffee and didn't enjoy life because you locked your money for year for nothing or very little gain. 😊

Invest in education, increase your income, start a business, invest at least 1000 a month, that’s the very minimum so you really see wealth growth, no miserable 5 a day lmao

17% return will obviously be higher if you have a $1m portfolio instead of a $2,000 portfolio…but a return is still a positive thing

@@BobSharpe it’s not that i dislike the video, your idea and inspiration is what made me start investing 2 years ago. But i started investing with 100k Money that i saved for 3 years. All throughout hard work Saving paycheck after paycheck living below my means.
I’m an immigrant that started making 7 dollars an hour back in 2001. Today i make over 197k a year.
