Engine system service required is basically engine malfunction lamp just in case someone here is wondering, service light comes up as "book time for service" or "book time for maintenance"
Is it serious? How do I get rid of or fix the Engine System Service Required message?

Hi, not with anti skid, I think that will be the ABS so have it looked at..
What does Volvo ABS Anti Skid Service Required Mean? ... Volvo anti-lock brake system (ABS) light will come on when the ABS module detects a problem with the ABS pump, ABS wheel speed sensors, steering angle sensor or the ABS control module. Your wheels may lock up during braking and lose tractive contact with the road.

@@Cloud007. You know fuc* all pal. EGR valve my arse. He mentioned "Anti Skid Warning" which is a traction control issue, NOTHING to do with the EGR you twonk!
Does anyone know how to change the language without updating a new software?
My car c30 2010 model shows the same error. Volvo garage charged me a fortune to read n fix it, but the error comes back again and this time engine light is still on after ignition and stays on with the error message. I didn't had problem driving with the error before..now I cannot speed in highway. It takes long time to pick up speed never reaches above 100km/hr. I will try your method to reset the error..hope it fixes the problem

@@Cloud007. Now that COULD be an EGR valve issue.
Your EGR could be clogged with soot. Removal and cleaning may solve the issue of poor performance. I took mine off, and removed nearly 1kg of soot from the EGR valve, and the air intake (wide plastic pipe) that is connected to it. This solved the problem for me, as it kept going into limp mode when I put my foot down.
Also, older diesel engines may need to have the swirl flaps replaced. But this job requires the removal of the overhead fuel lines and injectors, so a bit of a ball ache. You will also need a specialist injector removal tool.
I squirted EGR cleaner into the intake, in an attempt to clean the swirl flaps, as I did not have the injector removal tool. But so far so good. Cleaning the EGR valve is recommended though, and can be done on your driveway, with normal tools.

But your engine service light is still on, so it's not just an oil and filter change your car needs.

@@Cloud007. What is incorrect about that? If the YELLOW or AMBER engine warning light is on, that is showing an unresolved issue.
The service due indicator is a text message that is displayed on the info display, so what are you wittering on about?
@@hermanmunster3358 no, if you follow the steps in the video and reset the service interval, you need to pull the key out and then start the car again and the service light will go off. When you reset a service message you always need to stop and restart the car.
I had the same issue probably did it say engine system urgent on the display.i have a fix and it takes seconds and you can do it yourself you just need to get the part from a breakers

@tombegley2011 I just fixed mine today myself..if it happens again..if it says engine system service urgent on the display..pull the passenger rear seat up and under the carpet is a little plastic additve module that needs to be replaced its aquick fix less than a minute picked one up for €30 in a scrap yard
