Fascinating! My late mother used to holiday at Cashlieve House when her Aunt and Uncle (Lewis’s) lived there in the 1930s/40s. She had fond memories of that time. Great to see it lives on!
Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too,
investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.

My ❤️ is in Ireland, my grandad is originally from Wexford, I had family in Fermoy near Cork and I’ve always known Ireland is where I’m supposed to be. My dream will never be reality but there is a part of me that belongs there.
I agree about the benefit of the house being in the middle of the land. When I visited my brother in Ireland, I wanted to view a lovely manor house with land. Unfortunetly, the house was near the main road, with all the land behind it!!
You are my soul sister! I look at and love old houses and land too!! Living in Texas on 20 acres of bad soil and BEGGING grass to fill in we love Ireland!!
Oh my days, I would LOVE to buy and work on this property and land 😍. My mum was from Co Cork and my father in law is from Dublin. I spent most of my younger years with family holidays travelling around Ireland and visiting family. I hope to live in Ireland with my hubby one day. Love your blog and what you show.
You are just like me. Excited about a bit of old architecture. Not far from me.. I will be taking an interest. I live a few miles away.. The area is fab. the lakes are fab. The antiquity is fab. I bought an old one and Im still working on it. I couldnt agree with this lady more.
It would be interesting to see a follow up video. Did it sell? For how much? Who bought it and what they intend to do with it? Has it been restored to its former beauty? We need to know 🙂
the link to the real estate agent above has it set as 'Sale Agreed' at the original price - presuming it was indeed sold. Probably a private sale, so it would be difficult to determine what the new owner is planning to do with it unfortunately....
Think of the people living in tiny apartments in Blackrock or Castleknock in Dublin. This would be a nice change of lifestyle, especially with it being so easy to work and communicate through Zoom or whatever. Plenty of peace and quiet.
City rats do unbelievable damage to the countryside when they move there. their way of life is disgustingly destructive to natural habitats and animals. I've witnessed this myself too many times
I love these videos! You are giving me a glimpse into my dream of retiring to a cottage in Ireland. Now to the important questions: did you make your sweater? I LOVE it!
Yes, Please - Maggie - Its a great bargain, what a gem!! I share your enthusiasm - love, love old Houses. Bring this old Lady back to life, share her beauty & if I do buy it, I will invite you up for afternoon tea once She's renovated

I LOVE your vlog! Question how hard is it to do construction in Ireland? We were looking into Italy but it’s a nightmare. Want to keep the charm but with a few wee updates.
Oh that video! "Last night I dreamed I went to Manderley again..." (Don't know if you've read Rebecca, but I feel you'd make it through the opening description, not care at all about the characters, but just start pulling out maps to find the house.)
Your videos are so informative. I follow you on Instagram and your page is great! Myself and husband are desperately looking for a house for the past year, we have a baby on the way. So hard to find anything we like for around 100K. We would like a nice bit of space also for the future. So confusing as here in Mayo there's a good bit of property advertised but when you ring the agents they're nearly always sold!! :(
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HOME!!! Can we say it belongs to a new owner now? Would love to know what price the hammer fell at? Thanks for the brilliant, informative videos.
60 acres!! That is the true victory in buying this parcel. If I bought it - I would fix it up and start a B & B - make money off the property. I would also get some horses so my guests could take rides around the 60 acres. No point in getting that kind of place if one cannot make it work financially. So I imagine you'll be contacting me to join you in this venture! Lol!! Love your enthusiam!
I know my comment is coming late to the party, but I'm very curious about your insight when houses go up for auction. Are they usually sold at close to the price listed? Do they go for less if there is no interest in the auction? Do they go for a lot more? Learning your insight on the topic of auction listings would be appreciated.
I do the same. Pretend the funds are unlimited and look on line for dream homes! Currently looking at lake property in the states but after awhile they all look the same. There is no charm and character like you find in these Irish or English manors. Having all that land would be incredible! Hopefully a developer doesn’t turn it into condos or some development. It’s sad here in the States because farmland is sold and made into housing developments all over.
@@alotmorefarms8242 Hi, I am from the next county north which is Sligo and have a little small holding on similar kind of land. It is not suitable for heavy livestock and its not very fertile. On the google earth view you can see that quite a lot of the land surrounding has been planted for forestry (sitka spruce) not a sign of good land. It could be suitable for the likes of Deer or poultry.or organic vegetables and fruit. The house is beautiful and could be run as a guest house and have the land as a nature reserve and then there is Glamping and mabey cabins in the woods to let out. In most cases in Ireland when a farm is for sale it is only the price of the land that matters and the house and buildings are just thrown in so in this case they are valuing the land at just over 3k an acre which is a bit high but then the house is quite special so that might break the rule. I hope this helps you and I hope some one saves this great house. Denis
I am crazy about fixer uppers, and am a real estate nut as well. I always say, you have to look at the big picture. What it could be or ohh it just needs some loving care.
Loved the video love that place watched the estate agents video that you put in the link Who ever buys that property will have themselves a bargain would/will be a beautiful place as it clearly once was get some old fireplaces to replace the ones that are no longer there have a nice garden and do a bit of small hold farming absolutely love that place that's exactly what i would do Coming from a rural farming background I'm not a fan of modern homes modern homes don't have the carritor Unlike the good old houses that are fall of carritor . Anyway loved the video stay safe and well and godbless to you, myself and all the other good decent people
Looks to be mature woodland. The other building appears to be a ruined stable block. There was a pump in the yard. And I suspect there’s some peat bog just south of the woodland. The land looks low lying and a bit wet. Absolute heaven for kids. I would’ve lived in the woods like I’d been raised by wolves. Tree house, hut, playing soldiers, ghost hunting, Robinhood heaven. And weirdly, the next townland is called “Cloonlish or Robinhood”.
If you get/buy it please make sure you keep the carritor of the old house and get old fireplaces to replace the ones that are no longer there Stay safe and well Godbless
You have probably done this before but could you do a short video for us ex-pat hopefuls with the ins and outs of buying property there? No the AMV is the assumed market value and is actually a figure that involves a lot of calculation and research on the auctioneers side. It also needs to be backed up with evidence if the regulator questions it. In a lot of ways it’s still not a great indicator of what a house like this will sell for, because it could go either way depending on who shows up to bid. But it should be a good guide xx
They might be friendly though. Not all ghosts are spooky. Some are very friendly & helpful. Protective even. When I shared a larger house I was woken one night by a quiet & very trustworthy sounding voice telling me that the friend I shared the house with had gone to sleep leaving a candle burning & it was not safe. I went up to the attic where my friend slept & found she had left a candle burning in a little wooden holder, on a rush mat, a few inches under a wooden beam, about four inches from her bedclothes. Listen to those voices, even if you are tired, listen.
