Perfect timing. I know Josie is going to help your channel grow tremendously! She might be worth more than you could imagine in the long run. Not to mention on your heart 😂😍I never really got too into Horses, but ever since Tyler Childers put out “Percheron Mules” I’ve slowly but surely become mule obsessed. I cannot wait to have my own!
She’s so much fun, and we’re really starting to love her 😊 We’re pretty excited to document her progress on her page. We’ll really enjoy looking back at it, and hopefully viewers will find some value in it as well! 😊 Haha that’s awesome! I like that song too! I hope you get your own some day soon- a good one can really add value to your life! They have for us, anyway 😊
That’s was fun and of the three names you picked, I was hoping for Josey. She really is a sweetheart and you can tell she has Alyssa right where she wants her. Well done y’all, well done!
Haha! That was the one I liked the best too… but just barely! I liked all three 😊 She and Alyssa are getting along so well! We’re having an absolute blast with her!
What a fun way to pick her name . She seems like she will be a sweet mule. Love the way you are handling her. She definitely went to a good home. I got a kick out of Clyde, saying " hey if she doesn't want that grain, give it to me !"
I love Josey!!! Great choice. I just showed the video to my mom. She loved it! But i told her about Polkadottus and she cracked up!! Haaaaa Josey is super cool. My fave oit of the three. Congrats! She really learned about the black pans!! Funny girl.
Thats funny sh*t! lol, she just wasn't sure about what was in the bucket, good for an evening smile about the simple things in life. My mules have some age on them and are BORING. :)
Haha! She’s like, “I want it real bad, but it’s pretty scary!” 😂 A lot of times we look forward to the day ours are old and boring… the last thing we need is excitement out on the trail lol
Great video.. great name .. a very honorable American.. I have bought, sold and ridden a lot of Appaloosa’s in my 61 years .. along with a couple of Appy mules .. I loved everyone of them .. tuff, tuff !! I will enjoy the progress.. Onward and Upward is the Watchword..
Thank you! That’s really cool that you’ve had so much experience with Appys. We’re hoping she turns out tough like the ones you’re talking about- it seems like an Appy mule would be just perfect for the mountains! 😊
Wish she could have spent the last year learning about things with you -- but luckily for her shes with you now!. I love that she is "bay" under her spots! Tri-colored is SO Cool! 🙃
Oh man, me too!! She learned to brace some from her first halter breaking and is a little touchy. But I’m glad we get to start with her as a yearling and before she was started under saddle! ☺️ we have lots of time to get her ground work solid. I really enjoy groundwork too! ❤️
@@MTN_BUILT yeah I found it sad that she is - for example - afraid of buckets! She should be thrilled when she sees a bucket - what you also just touched on in the video (blood?!) was like dang! Worse than unhandled in my book. And she may have been weaned a year ago - but it seemed to me that Dam and filly will be missing each other. .
@@TheGypsyVanners they definitely were, she was taken away for a couple months to wean but other than that, her and her mama had been together her whole life. She is scared of any new object. She tried to jump out of her pen when the dogs first came running by. Scuffed her chest up. But she’s settling in and isn’t nearly as bothered by the dogs playing outside now. (Our dogs aren’t aggressive in anyway towards any of our equines) but maybe some in her past had been? She has a lot to learn for sure. Hopefully once we build a solid relationship she will trust I won’t ask her to accept anything dangerous and we can start making some real progress ☺️ one step at a time! I am happy to go at her speed. ❤️
Thank you for your two responces! Omgosh to be so afraid of a barn dog to want to jump the fence! Thank goodness she'll be with you now. Had they "broke" her she could very well have soured and become unmanagable (and beaten for it) - developing all the sterotypical "bad mule" traits. Which could in 7 years led to her being sent to auction and possibly a slaughter house (since she wouldnt make a broodmare chosen for her markings.) RUclips can sometimes do a pretty good job of guessing what I'll view. And this video was a good guess. 😊 Ive subscribed and even already watched a few other videos (putting off my "chores..") Im glad she choose Josey too now. Hopefully she will bring new meaning to Chief Joseph's words "From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more, forever." Madeline - from Florida
She is really cute and reminds me a lot of my molly mule ❤ (i called her 'Mulan' because she is a mula from Spain and she is kind of a brave princess - sometimes more brave, sometimes more princess - and she is from an Appaloosa-Mare too). Thank you for the insights and little history about the names that was cool :)
@@MTN_BUILT Thank you :) I am happy to have found your channel. Looking forward to your journey with Josie and the other mules and your horse. Enjoy :)
She is beautiful!!! Very cute little trial for her getting to pick her name, Josey suits her perfectly. New sub here and I am so happy to have found your channel.
Great mule! I had a Tennessee Walker mule, sire was a mammoth jack. She was 16.2 hands and had a long mane and tail that reached the ground. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for Mules! Amazing animals
Watching Alyssa place the buckets for Josey to choose is about like watching a NY con artist shuffling 3 walnut shells on an upside down cardboard box in the city there! 😇😀

Whatever it is it will soon roll right off the tongue and seem natural. I had a dog named Napkin. She lived to 16 ....Sounds normal after that long .

Good name a good friend of mine has a Joseph
I was partial to Bonnie
Yeah, I liked all three, but I really like Josey… I’ve liked Chief Joseph ever since I did an assignment about him in elementary school 😊
If she is half as good as this josey she will be great
And I think she will be just what I've seen out her
