    1. Don’t micromanage on lower time frame.
    2. Only sell if stopped out or target acquired.

    Yep... analogously speaking, it's trying to build a cathedral one brick at a time and ensuring each brick you lay down, is solid and well established enough before the next one. As well as rewards for desirable decisions such as the small-steps approach and trying to master them humbly as well as you can (and they evidently lead to improved results and processes over time), then also learn the detrimental consequences of not doing that or doing the opposite - even try it out small scale repetitively enough and see what happens in what is undesirable enough for you as an evolving conclusion across time... then you know your fears to help you avoid making those undesirable-effect producing decisions. Then also the incentives to give you two fundamental motivations to venture yourself onwards and to learn from the experiences to continually improve and shine up.
    Adding these aforementioned aspects and factors together, that's a very effective way to develop discipline. In fact, you could argue that it is the cornerstone for discpline in general, regardless of whatever endeavour you undertake. Trading is one of many examples.

    Thanks Mark, ... it really resonates to hear this. Every time I had a drawdown (many), it was due to breaking rules, 99% of the time for me. Specifically being duped into the market to take a stupidly large number of contracts outside my comfort zone and then sweating over every tick thereafter. I now have a max number of contracts or Micros that I will take no matter how tasty the trade looks, and I tell myself - " if I break this rule then iv already lost" ... repeatedly enforcing this, my trading is much better, P&L curve included and a benefit which I previously overlooked, is almost stress-free. (almost ) 😅

    Can I sincerely ask you is it normal to be down 176k ? I believe in myself and have had great trades but this exact video is why I'm down. Should I quit? Am I the only one in the world that is where I am?

    • @ukspreadbetting
      @ukspreadbetting  3 года назад +1

      176k is tough but it all depends how much capital you have! I don't know the trading style you're employing. Being 10% down when trading longer timeframes isn't out of the ordinary.

    • @bingmow
      @bingmow 3 года назад +1

      @@ukspreadbetting Low Float Momentum Stocks 5m 1m time frames. I was more successful with longer holds (little presence) I typically get in with 2k to 5k shares between 2.00 and 20.00 ps. My stops are at .40 to .90 cents. I am going to take a break to heal my soul. Maybe get into some trade mentoring.
