Thanks for watching!!
AWSOME JOB SIR ,WELL DONE
Good on you for speaking up for the other chap, andy briwn😊
Nice video, reminds me of when me and my dad did the rear bushes on my old fiesta 😅
I've replaced the rear axle bushes out on my vw corrado which are very similar in design to this. Just like on your zafira the inner metal piece fell out. This made it very easy to put a hacksaw through the inside of the bush (take blade off put it through bush then put back on) and make a couple of cuts through the rubber and outer part of the bush. I believe it is only aluminium, so very easy to cut. This relieves the pressure and makes knocking the bush out very easy, especially with an SDS drill like yours ;) Thanks for the video, going to have to do this on my wife's zafira soon.
Great work that Alan, glad to see the tool worked, and I've learnt a lot from the way you've done it mate and the removal, no wonder I struggled as using that tool to try and extract it had no hope! You've got a good way of explaining so I'd say keep doing some more videos please, you for one have another subscriber here.
Also, many thanks for the kind words, if we can all help each other out one way or another it works out better for all :-) I think I need an impact chisel and I'd be tempted to try mine again some time in the future.
If I could change anything about how i did them, it would be to use "poly bushes" you dont need any tooling to insert them, they just push in by hand!
Thanks again pal, and yea.. i might do some more vids, I have a wheel bearing to do next! So watch this space!
@@bungle6668hi mate, would you be able to post a link for the poly bushed ones please
@@keegansmith9807 Just google vauxhall zafira poly bushes..... get em on ebay aswell!
Well mate, I'm doing the rear bushes on my Astra H, I've ordered the tool, but with wanting to replace the rear bearings and calipers, I decided to totally remove the axle. A hell of a lot easier to do with the axle removed obviously considering the time you have to hack and bash the old bushes out. When putting the axle back, I reversed the through bolt which holds the bush to carrier. With not tightening this bolt fully helps you to put the springs in place a lot easier, jack up the car till you get it roughly to road height, tighten the bolt, then you can attach the rear shock. What do you think. Job took about the same time as bashing it while axle was in place. It also allows you to tidy up and paint while off, if that's what you want to do.
Great job , how much time do you think take to replace them ? Thanks
if you get em out handy, 2 hours! if not.. how long is a piece of string!
screw driver holding car up? you lunatic lol
yea, its fine :D :D lost the pins for them stands 10 or more years ago... used screwdrivers ever since!
Great video, helpful, honest and well presented, YT is for helping each other - great work
Great video, I'm going to tackle this job on my Astra H. I have the same drill so I'll do the same. Just read your other comment to Andy that poly bushes can be pushed in by hand? If so I'm gonna go for poly ones because I plan on keeping the vehicle
I am unsure if the astra H on is the same, but search well known auction and selling site for "astra H rear trailing arm bush tool".. definitely easier with the power chisel! thanks alot :)
How did you get on with poly bushes? Do you still need the tool?
You should got the tracking done
Why? there is no adjustment on the rear, its all fixed by the components! if the axle isnt bent, and the bushings and pins are all in good condition the rear geometry will be spot on!
Hello mate I see your doing this as well. What the tool and were can I get it from because one it £90 and the other £50 on eBay it’s says for a Astra g not a Astra H
