It varies. Sometimes 4-6 months. I heard others had their first split after a year. Just provide a nice long pole for them to climb on. That will help them transition faster. 😊
If it starts to have fenestrations, you can cut the top off. The new growth usually returns to its juvenile form. You can also plant a node cutting. This way you can keep its juvenile form longer.

Yes it does vary. It all depends on supply and demand. Some sell those for $100 some at $50 or lower.

I bought the young form because it "called me" in a garden center. Not knowing that it's gonna have fenestration. Now I wish it's not gonna mature. 😁
