- This is a probably rare TV-capture having Jerry Lewis talk about his life and career due to his 80th Birthday. The capture misses the very beginning and end of the show, it however covers the important part when Jerry begins to recall his first stage appearance at the age of five and continues to tell how he became the comedian we know and remember today! See him get emotional when he reminisces times he performed together with Dean Martin.
They make me feel happy I hope when they're in heaven I hope we both have a magical magical life God bless them both for giving us happiness and smiles and laughter
Dean Martin was a first-rate singer and a first-rate comic. Nice to hear Jerry acknowledge how talented Dean really was.
Jerry Lewis is the Greatest...he knows his art..knows how to get laugh...
comedy at its best basic and clean sadly missing now.
He was still a hadsome man on 80 years old. He was a genius!
This man was a master of comedy. Just look back at the old Martin and Lewis comedy shows. Genius. The Two men were magical together.
Wrong George Carlin was
i grew up with them both. I loved them so much, i really could not afford to see them again in tv. We just had 3 broadcasts .... so everythink i could see of them both i burned into my brain! ;-)
They were the best when I was a kid I watched Jerry Lewis Dean Martin all the time I still watch it was like destiny that they met couldn't see Jerry Lewis working with anyone else but Dean Martin couldn't see Dean Martin working with anyone else but Jerry Lewis they made each other they completed each other the Colgate hour is hilarious for all you youngsters out there check out Dean Martin Jerry Lewis the Colgate hour you might not get the humor because it's a different era but hilarious
Pure genius, a complete performer.
80 years old here. He looks 55!
Anything for a laugh...as long as He got it.
Despite their differences and that break up Jerry Lewis always said he loved Dean Martin very much and he always said more than once that they completed each other I believe him Jerry Lewis was the funniest man alive and I'm a big Abbott and Costello buff it's too bad we all have to die because there's so much funny s*** from years ago that people will probably and the new era of kids will never see or hear about because we will all be gone and they'll be nobody to talk about it well good luck everybody good health and happiness of course
Brother can you spare a dime was written in 1932 and was first recorded in late 1932, yet Jerry was sininging it in 1930
He never said he was singing it at 4 yrs old in 1930. He has always said 5 yrs old, and he was 5 turning 6 in 1932. The song probably wasn't popular until the end of '32, so he probably was 6 yrs old. Who cares about a difference of a few months? He probably didn't even realize and was approximating his age. Big deal.
What a wonderful time in history, when people were self-made and success could happen naturally with fun. Today, EVERYTHING is strategically orchestrated. Designed from it's inception to make money. When natural talent is spotted, it can't be left alone to flourish on it's own -no- the vultures swoop down and demoralize it's authenticity. They create an artificial image, label it, hype it, steer it into a carbon copy template that fits what they want it to be, usually at the artists expense. Look at the stars in music today - it's all the same - no originality - mostly twerking, sex and devil worship. What happened to entertainment for fun - without an agenda?
when was this?
arrond the 60s?
This is 2006 when he turn 80years old ...
At least its what the tittle say
laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaady
I remember when my Dad used to take me to the movies to see this guy.
I will never forget that.
It was child abuse.
You didn't like him? I loved him.
What a great dad! It's sad you couldn't appreciate him. If you're so abused, why were you watching this video? lol
How do people think this guy is funny?
Obviously you do not have a sense of humor. There was no one as funny as Jerry Lewis.
How is Jerry lewis funny? I guess you have to ask millions of people.
Jerry really loves to embellish stories, claiming after 6 weeks after teaming up they were making $70,000 A week that's about a million a week in today's money, and claiming they earned $20 million in their first year together equates to approx $266 million in today's money
it's not his daughter....his real daughter is homeless in Philadelphia Pa Jerry = jerk
