  • Oversight is a function granted by the Constitution to Parliament, to monitor and oversee government actions.
    Written or Oral questions from Members of Parliament are one way in which Parliamentarians hold the executive to account.
    The culture of unanswered questions by Ministers has remained a thorny issue over the years and has become almost endemic.
    Tonight we ask: Do Members of Parliament Take Their Jobs Seriously?
    To help me unpack this topic we are joined from the Nelspruit Studios by Mr Cedrick Frolick, who is the National Assembly House Chairperson for Committees and Oversight.
