Today i allso put in Philips Ultinon Pro6000 W16W (T16) for the backup lights and the Philips Ultinon Pro6000 W5W (T10) for the license plate light. Now the car is DONE. Result is SUPER!!!
I just order the same exact bulb and it comes as 9012/HIR2 socket. Unfortunately it has almost 1 mm too thick base/mounting and impossible to get it click/installed properly. So I returned it.
Today i put in my Yaris the Philips HIR2 Access LED Set 20W PC22d 12V. Its a very nice upgrade to LED, you don't need a canbus decoder in this car. Its plug and play. For daytime running lights ( if needed) you can use the Philips W21/5W Ultinon PRO6000. Make sure that the HIR2 and the W21/5 are both 6000K. It works just perfect and no canbus module needed, plug and play! 👍💡

Great video, was expecting it actually after the rant about poor headlamps. How about the side steep cut-off? I find it the most annoying issue with these headlamps, cornering on dark roads makes me feel like driving blindfolded... And another important question: cooling of the LEDs is not affected by the caps? Do the fans still do their job? Or did you just take the duct tape off the previously drilled holes in the caps?
MOT will fail LED too even with autoleveling sensor installed. It has to be OEM headlight but just don't install it when you do MOT. I think it will not blind anyone with projector style.

Thanks for replay. I would like to upgrade headlights in my Auris 2014. Would you buy these LEDs these days again or would you pick something diffrent? Are you happy about highbeam aswell?
@sebastianhanzlik4644 I'm happy with them. I mean, they're not as good as cars designed with good headlights from the outset, like my Hyundai, but they're fine.
Good video. Fellow Dubliner here...a friend just bought a 2023 Corolla and he is disappointed with the poor brightness from the standard HIR2 Philips Bulbs that came with the car. I see that Toyota Ireland advertise a "Toyota Optiwhite" upgrade that they say is 60% brighter. Would you know anything about them...or similar type bulbs claiming to emit more light? Thank you.
@@typhoontim125 I'm a bit late, but i have a Rav4 with the Optiwhite bulbs i didn't notice any difference, the lights are still awful. i also have a 25 year old golf and the lights are much better then the Rav4. your friend must have the Corolla saloon cos the hatchback and estate have led lights standard.
I fitted a very similar looking kit to a Yaris which has the same style headlights. The low beam is VASTLY improved but the high beam is eh. Still much better than the halogens but not as much of an improvement. Why couldn't Toyota just have fitted separate high beam reflectors to these cars I will never know...
Did this affect the AFS after you installed LED bulb? I wanted to change mine as well, but the workshop said that LED bulbs won't fit in there or it will impact the AFS

The DRLs are already LED. Edit: sorry you must have the first gen auris. You could change the sidelight bulbs for LED and leave them on when you're driving.
I just placed an order to ledperf, they should pay you the commission 😅 thank you for the video who helps me a lot

Is everything still working fine and doesn't the driver shake too much in the headlight? Do you still prefer these lamps over the halogen bulbs?

Great question. Those fans can hardly work properly with a closed cap behind them
Thx for video just what I was looking for ages so I have order 🤞👍
Issue with the Toyota Auris is that projectors always aim too low.
MOT will fail LED too even with autoleveling sensor installed. It has to be OEM headlight but just don't install it when you do MOT. I think it will not blind anyone with projector style.
That may be the case in the UK, but in Ireland, LED lights are permitted as an aftermarket fitment.

Hi
I’m driving a Auris 2017
Are u happy with this LED?
Do u recommend it?
Yeah they're a lot better than the halogens. Still not great on high beam though..
Nice video, great share. 👍How many lumens are the LEDs?
Can you please share the brand you purchased? I want to get one for mine as well. Thank you
I bought them from ledperf.com. Not sure of the brand.

This car doesn't have AFS.
@@Endfloat Mine neither. But the lights are in a way that those can be moved actually. So the space for LEDs is tiny.
Whats the name of the type of headlamp that the car originally came with
Hir2 bulb.
Are led chip(light) facing upwords or down when installed?
Down as far as I remember.

You won't damage the bulb if fitted the wrong way around ,it just won't light.
I dont think you should pit the cap on at the end as the fans would not be able to get cold air to the led heat exchanger
What do you think ?
Nah thats madness, the amount of dust and dirt that will get inside the headlights is not worth it.
It's been a year since you installed the LEDs mate. How are they treating you?
Still working perfectly. They really did make a massive difference, and the car passed the car test with them fitted too.
