Replay is Shinee's debut song and the music video came out in 2008. It was uploaded to RUclips in 2011 and used to be a 360p video but was recently remastered to 4k and lyrics were even added. SHINee Replay to me is the best debut song ever. This song is timeless and it sounds as good as back in 2008.
I feel that way too.I stanned Kpop because of Shinee,Shinee was the first group I listened to before becoming a Kpop stan.
I was like 6 years old in 2013 when I listened to Shinee's Replay and I instantly became a fan.❤ I'm 16 now.

Replay is their debut song, so May 25th 2008 (2011 was just when SM uploaded it), youngest member was 14 (Taemin) oldest were 18.

"Replay" is SHINee's debut song and it actually came out in 2008 -- more than 14 years ago -- however, SM Entertainment rebranded itself and started its new RUclips channel in 2011. The company reuploaded most of their older videos at that time. So all their older MVs and content have a 2011 date, but could be much older than that.
SHINee's "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. Every new rookie group in the industry has covered "Replay" at least once in their career and it's one of those songs that is pretty much compulsory for everyone to know and learn, even still today.
The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Noona neomu yeppeo is a term that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them.
***** SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee.
"Replay" is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song makes all the women swoon.
You just witnessed baby SHINee and were already blown away, just imagine what it will be like as you go through their discography and MVs. They have 13 full-length albums (7 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), several repackaged albums, a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTS, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. And it only gets more and more impressive as you follow them through their career. They have accomplished a lot in the past 14+ years and they are one of the groups that made Kpop what it is today.
SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups as trendsetters. This song was way ahead of its time when it first came out. SHINee are known for never being afraid to experiment with their style and sound in a song and for the fact that no two songs of theirs will EVER be the same even on the same album. SHINee are always setting trends, never following them. As SM's experimental boy group, NOTHING you hear from SHINee will ever sound the same, and, yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. So this shows just how talented even as teenagers SHINee were. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines you have to watch their live concert performances.
Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull of hip-hop, so right before their debut SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better and they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for.
So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet the members are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than some members of groups who came after them, such as EXO and BTS, etc., which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. It just goes to show you why they are legends in the industry.
When SHINee debuted Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew turned 32 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry.
Onew (Pronounced Oh-New in English or On-New with a Korean accent, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one in the hat -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vice is unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc.
Jonghyun -- the one with the headphones that you see first -- is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills, and he was the first of SM's artists to have a fully self-wrote album. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the one you hear with all the amazing high notes and R&B runs and ad libs most of the time.
Key -- the one in green -- is our fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are recognized for setting trends even in the fashion industry, and Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is well known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also considered SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker.
Minho -- the one playing basketball -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is one of the top actors in the industry and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. Minho is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. There is a reason why Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win.
Taemin -- the one in yellow -- is considered one of THE TOP dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in Kpop, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. Taemin is also one of the most popular solo artists and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances.
SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. As a SHINee World -- what SHINee's fans are known as -- or Shawol for short (pronounced like shy-wall), I can tell who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with my eyes closed with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop".

well, they used to have that dance battle show between idols called Star Dance Battle (MBC), around 2009-2011 i think. the idol groups (girl and boy groups) compete with each other, mixing/mashing up and covering songs. it is a very friendly and fun competition 💕 SHINee participated in that show too.

SHINee are known as one of the best vocal groups in the whole Kpop industry. Even as rookies Jonghyun and Onew were mentors and vocal coaches to a lot of other singers and trainees, including several members of EXO.
They are legends for their live vocals and amazing dancing. The ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight and always sound flawless while performing these intense choreographies. It may be shocking because they sound so perfect live even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are such legends and why they are so highly respected by everyone.
SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because they sound even better live then they do in their studio recordings. It is a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. So when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. (If you ask any of the members, what is something you are not good at? One of the very first things they will say is, "I am horrible at lip syncing." -- I have heard the members say this multiple times with my own ears.)
Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals.
Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed SHINee performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful.
I guarantee, that if you were to listen to them singing a cappella while performing some of their most intense choreographies, they would sound just as flawless. That is why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive.
When SHINee debuted they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing intense choreography and still maintain stable vocals. Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee was the group that changed the industry and proved that if you wanted to compete you needed to up your game.
SHINee live is unmatched and it's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard that all other groups strive to reach and SHINee are the vocalists that all other artists try to emulate.
You really need to check out some more of their live concert performances because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. Nothing compares to SHINee live. Their MVs are good, but those same songs sung live in concert are on a whole other level.
SHINee are so influential that the industry looks to them to show everyone what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in.
If you like their dancing, you should check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice, ruclips.net/video/gv60nR3_69U/видео.html. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the industry's very first dance practice video with their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee were literally the first group to ever release a dance practice video specifically for fans to watch and they are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today.

During my trip to Korea in 2017 I bought this cd. I almost sold it during the pandemic for cheap but looked it up on ebay. Almost made a huge mistake because unopened it was going for $999. Luckily I looked it up in time and decided to keep it.
even though i didn't know about kpop at the time (i was 8 when this came out), hearing this song really takes me back to my childhood. it has that timeless 2000s vibe that i miss so much growing up while listening to music on my older sister's ipod classic
Well...there was one show were some kpop main dancer were competing with each other. The name was Hit The Show. TWICE, NCT, GOT7, Taemin and many others were in there. Pretty sure Taemin won, but i am not sure. It been so long.

The name of the show was Hit The Stage and yes, Taemin, partnered with his choreographer and friend Koharu Sugawara, won with a very high score (I think he had the highest score in the whole first season of this show and he only participated in one episode) :)

Big Bang had their debut in 2006 and SHINee debuted in 2008 so pretty much around the same era. Big Bang was known as the Kings of kpop whereas SHINee was known as the princes of kpop. And this was their debut song which is known as the one best debut songs of all time.
And 'Replay' at Shinee world concert 2015 is amazing. There real voice are so beautiful. It took me back to Jonghyun. Please spend some time with it.

I know you've done some of these....SHINEE debuted in 2008. Shinee is considered "The Princes of K-pop" for their perfect harmonies, classy dance moves, and trend-setting fashion. The group is composed of four members: Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Originally a five-piece group, main vocalist Jonghyun passed away suddenly in December 2017.

If you want throwback, I'd suggest listening to their SUNBAE's, BIGBANG, older releases. Lol. There's one song that hooked me into kpop during that time and it's a GD/TOP (from BIGBANG) featuring Park Bom (2NE1) called "WE BELONG TOGETHER." They also released another song that samples Mariah Carey's "we belong together" called, "FOREVER WITH YOU." This was released the same time. All PRE-2NE1 debut.

They are still killin it today, check out " Don't Call Me", rekease 2011, before Taemin(the Michael Jackson of Kpop) had to leave for the military. Fans are called "Shawols" (Shinee 🌎 world). Minho is also a K-drama actor. He has a new movie, "New Normal" he is filming with Lee Yoo Mi, the FL from Squid Games.
Recently he did K-drama series "King of Golf". My sentimental favorite is "Hwarang: the Poet Warrior Youth" he starred in with BTS's V, Park Hyung-sik from ZE:A, and Park Seo-joon who is a very popular K-drama star & will be in the upcoming "The Marvels" as a so far not disclosed surprise character from the Marvel universe.

They debuted and released this debut song right after I got into kpop. Thank you for reacting to this! It brings back so much memories. And just in case no one mentioned, one of their members, Jonghyun (who to this day remains to be my bias) has passed on to a better place with no more sadness and depression. So in a sense, you reacting to their first release respects that he's still and will forever remain to be part of SHINee.

Check out Super M seven of the best singers, dancers, rappers and visuals that were pulled from four different groups. You have taemin, baekhyun, Kai, mark, Lucas, ten and taeyoung from shinee, exo, nct and wavy. I seen them in San Diego CA in 2019. The sold out crowd went ape shit bananas and I was the biggest banana there. What a concert to be remembered. Check Super M out as well. Thank you for this great reaction.
