- I’ve been accused of faking Dissociative Identity Disorder - DID - Aka Multiple Personalities.
These are a series of old videos showing that the diagnosis didn’t suddenly come out of thin air. The signs of alters have been there for years.

I've been watching your videos since I was 13. It's been amazing and emotional to see your progress and see you evolve. I'm happy you've found a diagnosis that fits you so you can understand yourself and your system better ❤ i just want you to know that I'm now training to be a psychiatric nurse, after going through a lot of MH issues myself. You are part of the inspiration for this 💕 I really wish you and your system the best, always x
You have been the hope I needed in my life Melissa. I am so glad that you finally found a diagnosis that resonates with your experience. It can be such a relief to find the right words that describe how you are feeling. Don't be discouraged with other people's judgement. You are a very humble, authentic, and introspective person. It has been an incredible experience watching you grow and getting to develop so much insight along you. Remember, this is your journey through recovery and through life so don't let anybody else's opinion stop you.
I cannot say this enough, but I really admire your strength and your wit. I really wish you the best. 💜💚💜💚
🌸 So many Thank yous 🌸 Im glad you took the time to say what you think and feel. It means a lot to read.
Good to hear from you!
Don't let the naysayers get you down.
And those that don't live in your head aren't in a qualified position to speak to what you did and didn't feel or experience.
I put this vid together in part because i found it interesting to see just how many signs were there before that I just didn't pick up on. I thought it might interest my viewers who have been watching for years and may not have noticed either.
Howdy camper:) Love you. My experience with dissociation mirrors your own and I'm also diagnosed:) It's strange to lose time and even stranger that we turn our attention away from them to the point that we don't pay any attention to them. I've recently had a lot of success with addressing my others and asking for their help with doing healthier actions.
Thanks for being so brave. You are as always a role model to me.
That's a good way to go about communication. I'm glad for you if your system can figure out what you all need and reach for it together.
@@IDrankTheSeaWater it doesn't always work, but often, it seems the respect of acknowledging and asking for help makes a difference. If we all weren't suffering so fuckin' much we wouldn't dissociate. I also figured out that I'm not the main and them the alters -- we're all alters.
It is good hearing from you again 🙂 I use to watch your videos after school. This was back in middle school. Around 13-15 years old. Your videos were what sparked my interest in studying psychology. I am just finishing my bachelors in psych and I have you to thank for that! I also bought your book Lady Injury when it first came out. Read it in 1 night (yes, I was a book freak as a child haha)
Anyway, its great watching you learn more about yourself and speaking so honestly about yourself here. Keep doing what you do Melissa! ❤ you inspire and educate a lot of people! Just like you did for me. 🙂
That's amazing. I think you used to leave comments, because I recognize your username ;) It's nice to see you are still poking around.
@@IDrankTheSeaWater always! 😄
Whàt you say is always truthful your a very honest person no one ever has the to say your lying especially when they don't even know you personally or your situation and everything you have been through you are a good and beautiful person Melissa i always count you as a close friend love you so much Melissa thank you for sharing your beautiful unique life with us
I have always appreciated how hard you try too work out how and why you are you
It's quite the journey, and not the one I expected. I'm just glad I finally know what's going on so that i can make sense of things and make progress.
@@IDrankTheSeaWater all things considered I personally believe you have done quite well
I believe you. I noticed something that you said in one of your videos that sounded like DID, but I didn't know that that was what it actually was. I have OCD and depression, but not DID. I am a born again Christian, and you are in my prayers. May God bless you.
I've always felt like DID was a possibility for you, but I definitely found it interesting to see, especially with the self harm mini movie. I've had conversations with myself that are similar (I don't have DID) but I can definitely see how that was your reality at the time. I always look forward to watching your videos, and I hope you're doing well 💜
Thank you for the well wishes. It’s a surprise to me when I learn of those who figured it out years before I did.
God, Mel, i am crying for you. You do not deserve this.
And you do not deserve to be hassled or questioned about it.
You were so strong to have put this together! You poor dear... 🧡
Naw. It’s not like that. It’s not a tragedy. It’s a relief to finally understand and get the proper help and know where to go from here.
I wouldnt wish for DID. It honestly frightened me at first. It helps to know reality so I can work with it and make improvements. Im getting to know my system and now we can work together instead of disorganized.
I can understand how some may have doubted at first. It may have felt out of the blue for them. Hopefully this video helps to make things make more sense.
@@IDrankTheSeaWater okay Mel
i felt the same when i got an aspergers diagnosis, but too late for helps
Are there any meds that help you? My meds are powerful and get the job done. It saddens me to see you suffer. But, you are strong and have came a long way so I also see you knowing how to take care of your mental hygiene! Keep working on it and so will i.
Girl. You are blowing my mind. Your experiences are almost identical to my daughter's. I saw you also mentioned bipolar in one of your videos which is something my daughter was diagnosed with as well. She was put on risperidone and it definitely seemed to help those symptoms. Didn't help the tics at all though. First neuropsychiatrist she saw wrote a book on tourette's that talks about all the comorbidities. I think the next one added to the list may wind up being DID. We haven't read it yet but it's on our list. It's by Dr. Roger Freeman and it's called Tics And Tourette Syndrome - Key Clinical Perspectives if you want to check it out.
TW, r*pe
14:55 What you say here is obvious, I mean. That's proof, clearly. Like, you should not have to convince anyone, but it's so obvious that I hope everyone is convinced now...
And also when you talk about your inner world later. Wow. I'm glad that you were able to figure out what was happening, and I hope that helps you live a better life
Thank you for supporting. I’m glad we figured it out too. It means there’s a route now that we know what the issue is. Can move forward.
Interesting I had a feeling something was up then.
I really love ur hair color and face. I would love to do your hair and makeup for fun! Love the lipstick in the 3rd clip. Super cool! Lil eyeliner on top lid and none on bottom with a soft lipstick or lip stain wld b amazing.
Really cool ✨ Thank you
My daughter SO many times have thought I was calling her or thought I was reprimanding or something and I literally didn't make a sound. We thought she had narcolepsy at one point as she definitely has sleep issues and has what seemed to be hypnogogic hallucinations. She was also having what seemed like cataplexy but what was probably pseudo-cataplexy. She also experiences tactile hallucinations which is very unnerving to her.
Thank you for sharing this
I had hypnagogic type hallucinations until I had medication. Some were classic type like noises etc but others were as you described as echoes. I wonder if mine were two different things. I just assumed they were the same and for the same reason but the second type were echoes of my sister's, dad's and friend's voices. Also an unknown old man. I have bipolar disorder. I always thought about these voices as echoes, too. I don't have DID but it is fascinating to think about these experiences. I am lucky having eliminated them with meds but in a way I miss them as they were part of me.
cheering for you
Whats it like trying to meet people , dating, social gatherings ,& Freinds? Or have you been isolated from society and humanity all these years? Except for youtube.
I would say my life is mostly online, even before covid. I probably am more-so now with even more projects.
I've never had issues making or keeping friends. I do tend be be withdrawn at gatherings.
I'm not isolated, other than living alone now. I have a lot of people in my life; really good people.
When you did your movies I felt like you were more than one person.
Most of those movies were just acting and playing different roles. It was mostly the first one that represented what the relationship with my headmate was like
@@IDrankTheSeaWater can I have a link to it?
This is a link to the playlist of mini movies. The one shown and described in the video here is called “Self Injury is my Roommate.”
