Wow, what a hit! Great air-to-air action too!
I do not know why I have waited so long to do a V1 mission. I was fortunate not to be blown up in that explosion.
Utterly fantastic episode, hunting down the V1 flying bombs and destroying their launch sites, that's some sweet operation to perform and the amount of realism from actual V1 attack operations is just so poiniant. Nasty and risky stuff going after V1s, yeah you could shoot them down from an aircraft but those explosions they give.. bluddy hell.. no problem in shooting them down but if you got too close.. Well that blast proved it.. too close and it was lights out. That's particularly one of the reasons the RAF tactic changed to flipping the V1s over via usage of the wings, which I don't think we can do here in the game.. never wanted to try it.. but regardless this was one reason why the tactic was try and flip the V1s over, once they got flipped over they just plummeted. That charge was bewildering, well it's no surprise as it was designed to destroy London City blocks, over here us Brits used to call the V1 the "Doodlebug". The V1 always has me floored, seen a lifesized one in real life, it's incredible because these we're the prelude to modern day cruise missiles, the Tomahawk is like the modern day equivalent. This was a fantastic episode, loved it.. Well done on claiming those air kills, and that was fantastic work done on the launching site. Great episode, was awesome.. keep up these epic episodes and well done mate 👍
I remember when I was young I was facinated by a movie called operation cross bow it was about the V-1 blitz. I am not sure why I put off a V1 mission, even IL-2 1946 has the V1. Also I was very tempted to try the wing move on the V-1 in flight. I went in with guns and almost got blown up. I give the game much credit for providing the ability to create the scenario.
@@callsignnictmere465 It was awesome this episode, truly was. Yeah the operation crossbow movie is fascinating in regards of the V1, would love to see more content on the V1 in the media one day, mind you it's not fully disregarded as the V1 is mentioned a few times in other blockbuster films and various excellent programs. You did a great job in this, I've done a few operations against V1s in the past but personally speaking.. I'm not going to even try the flipping the V1 over with the wing. I'll stick to shooting them down conventionally if it's all the same with you 😉 😁 👍

How do they rate shootdowns for a V1 big boom for sure
For these reasons I think the game scores it as an air victory during flight record play back I brought up the V1 by using the same key combination to view enemy aircraft even the F3 flyby works. If so I think it is a great feature score wise.
So how are you navigating to the site and able to find the V1 in flight?
