Good flying, Douglas. I'm not convinced you got hit by an attack on the carrier. That same thing has happened to me on many occasions after making a trap on board a carrier in IL-2 1946. I've watched the replays and couldn't find any enemy planes anywhere near the ship. It always happens after I've made the landing and try to taxi forward on the deck. I think it's just a bug in the game. It's especially annoying when you're in a career and just finished a particularly difficult, and long, mission that you will now have to re-fly to continue the campaign.
Well thanks for that. I did record the mission and can confirm that. From the exterior views I saw no bombs. I could have edited it out, but my score would not have matched up. Still it was a challenging and fun mission surviving the Zero escorts.
