@@MeAndMyRT I just found the reason for mine and I have a vacuum leak at my throttle body, when you turn off the car it sounds like hissing and then a sudden purge of air. To test for this, immediately after you turn off your car and the engine stops cycling, open the throttle body-if it purges faster then you’ve found the source of the problem

After multiple so called big boy hand held computor diognostic's, and have replaced everything!!!! Turnes out, it's the computor!! We've got a used one, with 60 k on it, and in the process of downloading the stock tune to it as of this evening!! It only showed it's ugly head, after everything else had been replaced!! Even put a high output alternator on it and after bout 15 miles, it would go to discharge!! Took alternater back off and took it to a guy that is as good as their is, as he is a rebuilder. He put it on his machine for the second time, as we had him check it before the first install, and it checked out good, again!!! Put it back on, 15 miles later, went to discharge! Called the rebuilder, n he said, your computor is out of it, as their are two wires that go from alternator, to the computor! So it is the only thing left, and we are in the process!!! Like i said, it's the only thing left!!!!!!! So i do beleive he's right!!!!

My '02 GT has a weird idle, it will misfire once every now and then at idle, or when revving below 2500 rpm. Not sure if this is normal or not, but I've got no dtc codes stored and driveability is just fine.

i have an 05 mustang v6 and have had a misfiring problem with it for a long while now and i cant seem to figure out whats causing it because ive already tried o2 sensors and that didnt work, along with spark plugs and the coil pack is still pretty new. neither worked. gonna try the injectors and if that still doesnt work im at a loss for words. idek what ima do if that doesnt work,

My car goes to closed loop pretty much immediatley...does this mean I possibly have an issue with o2 sensors and/or wiring to them? Seems like I should be in open loop for at least 30 seconds
My ‘03 GT does the same thing but not nearly as bad. No codes. Seems to do it the most around 1500 rpm. WOT is perfectly fine. I don’t plan on doing anything about it unless it throws a code or gets out of control. Yours sounded way worse than mine does. I just have light popping. Maybe a pop or 2 every couple of seconds or so. It doesn’t do it at idle or at WOT, just at around that 1000-2000 rpm mark.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage OK I just changed out one 02 I'll see what happens when I change out the other one. Hope it solves my misfire I got the coils and sparkplugs replaced and its still misfiring.
I use Motor Craft Spark plugs but I don’t think I’m getting all my Ignition coils the right brand ugh 😩 and I feel that’s where I’m slacking kinda my fault..All 3 valve Mustang Gt ignition coils must the same brand
Hey Danny I was having the EXACT same thing going on with my 03 GT and still do.. We just had a 38k mile 2v put in my car about 6 months ago and before on the old motor it was doing the exact same thing(thump/misfire) but it was that noticeable and it wasn’t near as bad as it is now on the new motor!!! after throwing the whole parts store at it, meaning every sensor, multiple sets of coil packs, plugs, even going to the new motorcraft 02 sensors that you have in the video, we just installed them and we’re still getting the thump/misfire out of the driver side tail pipe. Do you have anymore ideas on what it could be? You name any part and we’ve probably already changed it. We’ve even put a brand new factory PI intake on it that came off of a 20k mile GT and changed injectors and sprayed MAF sensor cleaner everywhere to check for vacuum leaks and chased down wires and we still can seem to shake this misfire/thumping. I also Msged you on Instagram not to long ago. Thanks in advance any advice from you would be great and if anybody else has any advice my ears are open!!
Can it be the fuel pump? I changue spark plugs cables both sensors egr valve filters maf and everything in between . I think its my fuel pump . Not sure . The fuel filter was clogged .

My 2015 mustang GT did that extact SAME popping noise at idle and threw codes like p0308 p0315 p03100 and any kinda of misfire really I’ll buy 2 new upstreams and hope this helps..
I have a 2002 mustang gt 4.6 2v and when i bought it the douche bag had about 10 quarts of oil in it and i found oil in 5-8 spark plug wells, drained oil replaced with proper oil level and no leaks from valve cover gasket or any oil in plug wells ,changed spark plugs and coils and now getting misfore in 5th cylinder and p1000 after changing battery, idk what else to do i cant even complete the drove cycle cause car performs like shit but when the diagnostic tool is plugged in it runs like a champ, idk what to do

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I was thinking that and gonna try but the only reason I don't think it's that is because when I reset codes and pulled negative terminal it drove like a champion for an hour no issues at all and then when I turned off and turned back on it acted up again so I don't think it would be compression because if it was it wouldn't have ran so beautiful after reset yeah? Sorry I just don't wanna get rid of this car but for the life of me I can't figure it out nor afford a shop
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I got them installed 2 days ago. Car ran great until today, misfire on cylinder 5 came back as a pending code. I changed the spark plugs when I did the upstream O2’s and relearned the ecu. I’m lost at this point.

Wtf I never had to replace anything in my Mach 1 04 for misfiring and I had it for 4 years..I actually didn’t even know what a misfire was until I got my other mustang Gts which actually has spark ⚡️ plug Nd ignition coil problems ugh
My mach 1 has never had any misfire issues as well, except for when the o2 sensor went bad and caused it to misife/jolt. My 2V GT has had the issues with coil packs.

The exact same thing happened to me on my sn95 cobra and New edge GT. I spent buying the same parts to lead and finish being the upper o2 sensors. ✌🏼😎
ive done coil packs, O2 sensors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, new harness wires, cleaned the throttlebody, made fresh grounds, new engine ground strap and still!

The car sounds almost exactly like 1:34. It doesn't get any worse than that.
It’s normal to have light popping at idle as the car is adjusting fuel trims and the unburned fuel ignites and pops a little

It can also happen with larger fuel injectors or running rich at idle as the excess fuel pops

My 2015 mustang GT did that extact SAME popping noise at idle and threw codes like p0308 p0315 p03100 and any kinda of misfire really I’ll buy 2 new upstreams and hope this helps..
Did the o2 sensors fix your issue?

I have a 2002 mustang gt 4.6 2v and when i bought it the douche bag had about 10 quarts of oil in it and i found oil in 5-8 spark plug wells, drained oil replaced with proper oil level and no leaks from valve cover gasket or any oil in plug wells ,changed spark plugs and coils and now getting misfore in 5th cylinder and p1000 after changing battery, idk what else to do i cant even complete the drove cycle cause car performs like shit but when the diagnostic tool is plugged in it runs like a champ, idk what to do
You might start with a compression test. Its possible he added extra oil because it burned it

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I was thinking that and gonna try but the only reason I don't think it's that is because when I reset codes and pulled negative terminal it drove like a champion for an hour no issues at all and then when I turned off and turned back on it acted up again so I don't think it would be compression because if it was it wouldn't have ran so beautiful after reset yeah? Sorry I just don't wanna get rid of this car but for the life of me I can't figure it out nor afford a shop

I usually do both, and try to keep it to the matching style and brand so it reads evenly
About to try this for mine. Never considered the upstream sensors even after throwing the whole parts store on my mustang lmao.

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I got them installed 2 days ago. Car ran great until today, misfire on cylinder 5 came back as a pending code. I changed the spark plugs when I did the upstream O2’s and relearned the ecu. I’m lost at this point.
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I feel like it’s the coilpack. When I pull the wire on cylinder 1, it doesn’t miss but every other cylinder does. Compression comes out normal and everything has been ruled out except for the ecu.
We chased this miss to hell and back on an 03, we did EVERYTHING, that we could learn, even with high caliber computors, like 3 differant big boy computors. Wtf I never had to replace anything in my Mach 1 04 for misfiring and I had it for 4 years..I actually didn’t even know what a misfire was until I got my other mustang Gts which actually has spark ⚡️ plug Nd ignition coil problems ugh
My mach 1 has never had any misfire issues as well, except for when the o2 sensor went bad and caused it to misife/jolt. My 2V GT has had the issues with coil packs.

i’m having the same issue , but i don’t have 02 sensors , i’ve had the car for a year now 99 cobra supercharged but it just started to , i have new coil packs and new spark plugs but like you said under throttle it’ll lag a little to go then it i’ll go. any ideas?
It has to have front 02 sensors to run unless the tune is completing running off a map only which isn’t likely
