Darren King, Thomas Pridgen, Jimmy Chamberlain and Jon Theodore are my favourite drummers of all time, excluding the jazz legends. Words can't comprehend.
Arguably one of the most exciting, innovative, truthful bands alive. They honestly give me hope for the future of our currently-confused-and-inane music scene!
It's called a Helpinstill Roadmaster. There is a 64 key version and an 88 key version - it looks like this is the 64. It's very similar to a Yamaha CP-60 - acoustic strings and piezo a big to an XLR out. It looks like he is just playing it acoustically though. The best part is that the keyboard folds down into the body in one motion and it turns into a big box. I used to be able to fit mine in my hatchback. I played one for years both on stage and on the street. I'm so mad I sold it.
these guys are so talented. darren king, amazing drummer paul meany, amazing singer, greg hill, awesome guitarist roy mitchel-cardenas, sometimes plays fretless bass, therefore, he's awesome.
@leslifrancs He's playing the kick with the same hand hes using for the snare and instead of crossing his hands and having the hi hat on the right he just put it on the left so his hands wouldn't get tangled playing the bass and snare
@jesalbert1 He said "that's Greg Hill (guitarist) playing the science fair" I'm not sure if he actually said science fair or something else, I have no idea what that instrument is called haha.
@McBlobby3 Are you talking about the live versions? Because they recorded that long before Roy ever joined the band. Jonathan Allen is the bassman on that track. As in, Jonathan Allen of Club of the Sons!
looks like he's just getting feedback from it.... they're known for tweaking electronics of things to get different sounds... they have that one instrument thats made out of an old atari console.
This drummer is incredible. Very underrated.
the setup with the drums is fantastic, and I love seeing the drummer. he looks like hes having a good time to himself
Darren King has the beat in his bones....amazing.

Not anymore LOL
The chord progression at the beginning has a Radiohead vibe
Rodolfo Peralta absolutely! Sounds like everything in its right place
Excelente trabajo del baterista. Me encanta la forma en la que hacen música. Saludo desde Colombia.

Chris Allen Candour meanwhile, the awards the other night.. J Lo and Madonna. Lolololol. But not the likes of MuteMath
That was f-ing incredible.
absolutely love these guys!!!
such an amazing band !
one of the best bands right now
Now that;s a real treat!
Darren is the King!
Self titled and Reset EP is definitely their best material

@becomealive Dont forget the bassist plays upright bass and the singer is also an incredible pianist!
@lesliefrancs No kick drum, so he can have the pedal over there, and he doesn't have to reach around his other arm because there's no crossover.
Its on the Flesh and bones live DvD if you wanna pick it up!
This was at fingerprints in long beach! I skipped class to go :D
how does this only have 65,865 view?!?!?!?!
wow, what a drum set up..awesome
@jesalbert1 He said "that's Greg Hill (guitarist) playing the science fair" I'm not sure if he actually said science fair or something else, I have no idea what that instrument is called haha.
1 word:talent!
I don't really know a whole lot about drums, but I think it sounds pretty cool in this video
2:23 - 3:44 is the best part
These guys are sick. Can’t believe I just discovered them a few months ago. Where? Listening to the music played on Xbox NHL 18.
INcrediBLE!
This reminds me of the earthsuit days.
VidaVuenaUnofficialreleases sadly their new fans won't get that. earthsuit was awesome.
haha i love that they never just sort of sit still when playing, espiecially darren king, they seem so passionate about their music!
Thanks man but I already found out what it was.
In fact, I purchased the 88 key model a couple of weeks ago.
It's a wonderful instrument.
@McBlobby3
Are you talking about the live versions? Because they recorded that long before Roy ever joined the band. Jonathan Allen is the bassman on that track. As in, Jonathan Allen of Club of the Sons!
This band needs a new album fast
Lol I agree with the guy that goes, "Ow!" at 1:32 ;D
2:15 GO DARREN!
Sweet, thanks dude!
MAKES ME WANNA POGOOOOOOO
Darren King and Bret Whitacre are the 2 best living drummers.
@lesliefrancs WHo knows? But hes just amazing playing it with just his foot
The band has a few instruments that they invented, spliced together, frankensteined. Hence "the science fair" :)
@Tubbs2Cool i enjoy all of them aswell, good taste my friend.
@kredkillerz Reset, off their eponymous first album. You're welcome :)
CsúcsSUPER!!!!!!
HOLY SHIT, DARREN
¡Qué bestialidad!
looks like he's just getting feedback from it.... they're known for tweaking electronics of things to get different sounds... they have that one instrument thats made out of an old atari console.
Please elaborate...
Why is one like button upside-down?
Is there a full video of this show?
Slow down Darren.❤
As a bass player the fact that Roy is blocked the entire time is insulting.
Holy shit Darren can just move!
@becomealive haha not only because of the fretless bass but have u heard the bass lines he smashes in songs? i love the one in peculiar people
Holy fucking shit.
each of dat vinyl in the back .. about fucking 300 dollars.... :,)
What kind of piano is that? I totally thought it was electric until I saw the keys actually moving.
Does anyone have any information about the piano he's using? Is it made by a company or is it custom made?
Cual carajo es ese piano?
Wait why is Darren King playing with a hi hat on the right side?
teach me masters
shaddap Noobie.
I wish they had put this on one of their records.
where was this?
Missing the duct tape!
just a digital piano, yamaha, roland etc. whatever put in a big flight case.....
What song?
the song's name is Reset, if you didn't find it yet
1:06
What the hell is the guitarist playing at the end? :D
drummer is the only one worth listening to in this video
Who the fuck disliked this?
contraptastic!
Its reset Mutemath Noobie lol
@opusham rest
Mad shit
RESET
Why play the bass drum with your hand and not foot and limit your limb use? Maybe cause it look different but Sonically slightly impaired ..
piano sounds off key at start... nice idea though.
Get out
SO MUCH GROOVE
