"You're not stupid, you're just having bad luck when it comes to thinking" -- that's a keeper!
Thanks Dave for your common sense attitude in a world where sense ain’t too common 🤘🏻
I love teles. Nice job, as always, Dave.
I have one of those, and after a little set up work I learned from you it plays great!👍👍
Nice looking Squier Custom Tele. Thanks for the review of a tele setup a.
A two tele Thursday! Who knew? It’s been my experience, that smaller radius necks benefit from a little more relief as opposed to larger radius necks. My strats and teles are all at .008 - .010”. Gibson, PRS, Ibanez kiddie shredders can go .006 - .009. Also the larger radius necks can achieve lower action. But you knew that!
looks like a classic vibe 60s tele well worth the $$$!
That's a later one, the 2010-2014 models that were made in China, with the knurled saddles seem to be the best ones with a simple set up.
I have a 2012 model, and put a fender bridge and brass compensated saddles on it, and it rocks and feels as good as a custom shop tele.

Mine is a 2019 last year made in China.
I love the elegant simplicity of a Telecaster.
That's an Indonesiaster.
@RideAcrossTheRiver watch out, that's approaching a "dis-aster".
@@larryn2682 Don't go 'round tonight!
@@RideAcrossTheRiver I have a Squier affinity ..built Indonesia ..it's just beautiful ..awesome guitar .
@@leighsayers2628 Great, but why buy an imitation?
I was once an inexperienced, well intentioned person that tried to work on my guitar. Made a few gooches.
Thanks to watching Dave’s videos, I can do careful, productive work on my guitars. I’m still shy about grinding on frets though.
Everyone starts somewhere.
Exceptional description of speakers and pickups. Your hands told the story 🎸
I enjoy the show, Dave keep it coming, thanks again Ken
I have a "thing" about double bound Tele's.......A "Good" Thing.
Oooo! I got NYXL's on my bass. That New York steel core don't stretch once it's taken a set. Some time back I watched a video about the G string not being in tune. The guy then demonstrated by lowering the pickup until the G string stopped warbling
I have this guitar for years. It's great. It's all solid wood. No weight relieving. The only thing I did with it was replace the saddles with bronze saddles. I had bought Seymour Duncan Hot Tele pickups for it 2 years ago and haven't gotten around to replacing the pickups. No rush because it sounds great as is.
Those are decent instruments; even with the laurel fingerboards.
@sMansGuitars Absolutely; globalism is responsible for the sweat shops.
The principle of operation of a speaker coil is entirely different from the mode of operation of a guitar pickup. If your guitar strings were made of copper (like a speaker coil) or brass or anything non-magnetic, they would not work. If you don't believe me, give it a try. A guitar pickup works because the strings perturb the magnetic field of the magnets and that perturbation is detected by the coil. Non-ferrous strings would not affect the field therefore don't create a signal.
Wow, two Teles in row. A man after my own heart. Great work as usual Canuck. Peace. Oh, being a Tele guy I like the top load. Strings feel a mite bendier ( is the a word?). Don’t worry about loosening the switch screw. I do it all the time.
Beautiful looking guitar
Output Jack on telecaster suck. Replace with an electro socket and rock it 🎸
I screwed an output jack plate on mine…
I like the Electro Sockets
Amazing what a set up will do for a guitar. I've run into a few preowned guitars that the truss rods were cranked down to back bow, even with strings tensioned to pull the neck to any relief.
Gotta say that the string insert “so far” then it slipping into the ferrule by itself was kind of satisfying.
Nice guitar. I have a Squier Classic Vibe Thinline Tele I really like. The only thing I wish it had was a satin finish on the back of the neck instead of thick polyurethane (personal preference), but, other than that, it's a great guitar for the money IMHO.
I have one of these. First thing, upgrade the jack for $15 CAD. Perhaps the pots too, for $30 more. You can leave it alone at that point and it'll work better and reliably.
I have that same guitar and the same input jack problem. Wish I lived a bit closer to you Dave.
Always the G string that gets me too!😂
Its the references to Columbo that keep me coming back :)
Thanks Dave. Much appreciated.
Any time
well someone thought the only neck adjustment was a hangmans noose on this one. geez. dave fixed it all i cant believe anyone was playing this guitar before
Bad luck when it comes to thinking......that’s why we love ya,Dave. Also the guitar tips!
“Bridge with a container ship” was a GOOD joke. Maybe a dad joke, but a GOOD joke.
One assumes this is the same factory that was building part of the Squier lineup. I saw the new Delonge signature Starcaster is made there. The polyurethane finish on the neck was a giveaway. A sign that it's less and less cost effective to build in Mexico, they're following Gibson. Pretty soon the only thing made in NA will be custom shop stuff.
The used market for proper guitars will be quite lively.
Dave, you are a Trip Man, the first thing you Say here is Oh No Not Another One, I almost Pissed my pants, Cousin Figel
That poor Telecaster. Some people insist on doing terrifying things with truss rods.
I've got a 2010 cv, and the neck is awesome.
I've heard a lot of big players have their necks set straight with the action slightly higher than with relief.
They have super techs who get frets perfectly level.
Good job Dave!
We don't have any friends that's why WE are here Cheers Dave Love the stories
If you were going to watch a movie, which would it be?
Your videos are so cathartic.
Really Great Job Man ❤❤❤
Great video.
The set-up guru.
Dave’s on top form tonight 😅
I watched the Berkley fellow drop all three pickups on a stratocaster right to the deck, and it sounded great?
Ah the ol tele output reassembly fandango, I usually have to reassemble mine once a month on my Squier tele
Dave , do you happen to have any videos fixing a loose\ stripped strap button ?
You don’t capo the first fret when checking relief or is that off camera ?
Cool. TY.
"You bastards!" 😂

Hello Dave !
I’ll send you my Tele so you can get it All nice and set up
Please do!
0.008-0.010 for light players, 0.010-0.012 for regular players, and 0.012+ for hard rockers...............................I play lightly and run 0.008-0.010.
Dave has proved time and time again, if you set the neck flat with NO strings, you'll have around 0.012 under standard tuning string tension.
This is probably how fender set them up from the factory.
Fender does not finish the nut at all, so slots have to be filed to proper height before any set-up.
Nice work as always 🤘🏻💯
I talked to Phil McKnight and he agrees with Dave.
Sanicks were made in Indonesia . Any connection ?
Never thought I’d see the day when Chinese tele necks are cheaper and built better than Indonesian ones. 😱😎🎸
Respect.
Thanks! ✌️🎻🙂😎
Wow we are getting old. And it sucks. Have you noticed how people on TV are aging? 🎸
I thought everyone was getting younger
I figured out why that Indonesian mayhem had so meny problems: KRAKATOA!!!
Pretty, though, ain’t it ?🐾❤🇩🇰
Why go Indonesian when good 2000s and 2010s US Teles can be had for 1500?
all you want..use a clean cloth
Not a space ship, just some house keeping.
Two Tele day!
Yep. Bad Joke.

This guitar needs to be de-monkeyed.
what a mess
