    Mixing Basics - How to Use an EQ to shape your audio to the target sound you have in your mind.

    The Equalizer is one of the most valuable tools in mixing music. With the EQ you have the ability to shape the sound of your mix by modifying the volume of selected frequencies on the audio track the EQ is applied to.

    this equalizer exercise was excellent, I was always watching other tutorials telling myself "I notice no difference inbetween sound edited and raw >.< but now this makes sense to me :D

    Create The Imaginary::so lets say i want to raise the vocals'or'voices thats are to low to hear,in a movie i downloaded.Could be it wasnt formated all that perfect.And lets say that screaming, and bombs,crashes,anything thats loud.How would i use the E.Q. to stableize the audio quality of the movie???? because i get thses kind of movies alot and i want to reformate them to a decent sound, where you can hear the people talk when there are talking low, and the louder sounds turn it Down.??? i hope you can give me Some Tips, or info..anything would Help..Thank you..by the way it was a very well detail spoken tutorial.

    is it wrong to think that the Snare should have been different than the clap... like why use the same for the snare and kick their are many more other sounds... but that is just my professional opinion I get the purpose of this video... Good Stuff

    help. I just got these new big speakers, and they are too "bassy". every time a low frequency sound is played they play something like a thump, like you were hitting a microphone in a sock with your finger. they are also "muffled" and all. how to solve this?

      ***** actually the speakers had an amplifier that was waay off standard settings, I dunno, maybe someone had big room or just was an idiot. they work pretty ok now.

      Don't be discouraged, it could be simply the speakers you're listening on? Laptop speakers, phone speakers, cheaper headphones won't actually reproduce many frequencies. Keep listening!
