The sarcasm is strong with this one.😂
When Simon puts the glasses down. You know he’s interested. You got his attention
Pretty sure he's just taking them off when he's stopped looking at his phone.
Simons reading ‘Jim questions Bowyer for 5mins’ so he’s trying not to doze off 🤣
8:59 he puts them back on when Jim asks a relatively boring question 😂
Why's it only people Simons age that take their glasses on and off? Makes more sense to get a pair of glasses that work for everything.
Who's simon?
Bowyer, Kewell, Smith, Keane, Radebe, Woodgate and Viduka were absolute ballers at the turn of the century.
Remember them days. Champions league semi finalists as well
Ian Harte could take a mean free kick as well, plus there's Mr consistent, Gary Kelly. Nigel Martyn was an outstanding goalkeeper too.
Leeds fan remember it well finished in the top 5 between 1997 and 2002 and reached UEFA Cup and Champions league semi-finals exciting era but we had an absolute numpty called Peter Ridsdale as the chairman
@@fplgregfrost not a Leeds fan but was just about to comment the same. Harte was a great left back and underated. Remember Yukubu too!!
@@Surveillance-Ys I'm actually a Man Utd fan but obviously paid great attention at the time to our great rivals, I always supported them in Europe. Best mate is a Leeds fan. Went to school in Wakefield so nearly everyone was a Leeds fan growing up around me! They used to play with grit, determination, bite and tenacity. Truly an outstanding team back then. I echo the sentiments of the fellow above, was an absolute shame Ridsdale messed it up. Don't think O'Leary should of been sacked either for finishing 5th that year, he had some massive injuries to key players & it was just the pressure of missing out on that CL money really.
Wish Keiron Dyer & Graeme Souness was in studio with Lee Bowyer today. We could had a Part 2
And that actual truth not just one persons perspective
If I was Souness at the time I'd have ripped these two to shreads, that said being a villa fan that day was SO much fun, and against Newcastle at their own place, great memories.

Shame Jordan and White were to cowardly not to push back.
@@bl4ckkn1g8t5 Jordan only pushes back on certain people. If Martin had said that story the same way. Simon would be going all in like a bull. Definitely picks and chooses his moments.
Wonder how many went and watched the Bowyer and Dyer incident right after watching this I know I did 😂
Funniest évent ive seen in football i think 🤣🤣
Nice to hear Bowyer talk about Leeds at the start. As a kid I absolutely loved Bowyer and the rest of that squad!
Great to hear Lee talk about his time at Leeds and his honest reflection on 'that' match
Scored so many great goals for Leeds. Barcelona, Lazio, Derby last minute, Man City half volley in the FA Cup. Pure class.
Who are you talking about?
@@ill_be_frank ohhh okay 👍🏻 The Real G.O.A.T 🐐 ⚽️
@@marcbrown9001 🤦🏻♂️
How was he pure class? He was a stone cold idiot.
@James Jarrett why are asking me?
Greetings from USA. I get a little lost when you guys switch to cricket but I still tune in!
Mate go check out the thing on the net ,, Cricket explained to a foreigner, proper funny
I am from England and I get lost too lol
Two clubs, Leeds United and Newcastle United unbelievable fans. Always remember both those teams away fans at Norwich never stopped singing. It was some time ago but I would imagine nothing has changed.
Norwich is a great away day
Unbelievable fans? Yous are one club cities, don't make me laugh
What bout those Asian kids you attacked
Anyone find it rude when Simon is just on his phone when the guest is speaking
He is being VERY generous about what happened against Villa. It was not mutual Bowyer basically attacked him. He had a bit of a history of violence in his younger days that unlike Joey Barton he has grown out of but he clearly hast taken full responsibility.
Yea and he’s been out living his dream the last fifteen to twenty years whilst you’re on RUclips talking about him 😂
@@highstakes1235 m8 I am living my dream myself and have a very happy life. I was there at SJP when he had a fight with Dyer and it didn't go down the way he said. Bowyer walked up to Dyer. Bowyer threw the first couple of punches. That's assault in my eyes. Your a very weird guy to think you can't question a footballer
@@davidwebster5946 lies mug
Assault 😂😂 grow up you wet wipe
Correct me if I was wrong but wasn't it Woodgate and Bowyer who beat up an Asian during a night out in Leeds?
Still remember watching the incident and as a Newcastle I was cursing both. Knew straight away our FA Cup game after that match was screwed.
As a Villa fan this match was a classic piece of entertainment 🤣🤣🤣
He was a bad buy for Bobby Robson at Newcastle. Upset the midfield balance even before the fight with Dyer.
lee bowyer would have been sent off every game if he plays today. he just couldnt help flying around and run his mouth
Are they that strict in division 1, because that is the standard he would be playing at today.
That says more about the state of the game today than Bowyer.
@@bl4ckkn1g8t5 doubtful. Lee was always a top player
And players from the seventies wouldn’t get passed the 10th minute? This is a different era so what’s your point?
@@andymccreight3175
No, he wasn't.
And if you think he was, you don't know what a top player is.
Legend at Birmingham he won the Carling cup there .. difficult time as manager but still respected by the fans
Arsed
i think on the whole at blues he did a good job for us as manager. legend for us either way from the playing days
Jim clearly stirring and trying to get Lee to throw Dyer and Souness under the bus. 🤡
Jim White is good mates with Souness, though... has been for decades
Loved the guy at Newcastle, a tough player that really grafted for his team.
Love him.
Leeds late 90s, awsome
"tried to take the blame" Bowyer through the first punch and therefore from a physical fighter perspective was the instigator
Obviously you don't know or understand the law as it relates to the use of force and/or self-defence. And just because it occurs on a football, or any other sports field that that matter, makes absolutely zero difference.
Newcastle were not getting 50,000 in 1989 2nd division with us .. it didn't hold 50,000 back then. Around 36,000 then couldn't fill that up .
16000 average in 1991, pre Keegan….
I was at the game. Souness was the worst manager in my time watching Newcastle. Supposedly came in to sort discipline but made things 10 X worse!
TF did souness do...
Always tough following on from Sir Bobby ❤😎❤
Souness was never managerial material, complete tosser on and off the park.
But he's been involved in football for 1000 years as a player and coach lol
Nice one Lee. As a Newcastle fan I could never fault you giving 100% in every game you played. Your boxing skills could improve but other then that - top man and thank you
Christ… did he manage to tie his shoe laces on his own?
Was at this game as a Villa fan, madness.
This was long awaited 😁
Bowyer is and was Tayler made for Leeds United….brilliant career
Great player....bit tasty, LUFC
Other than for the club he supported - twice. He was total crap both times. Was hugely disappointing.
Still to this very day, Newcastle FC pinnacle achievement on football pitch...
what a proud day boys
Rumour was that Souness offered them both a square go,
I was there that day and i was so high up in the stands i could not tell what happened all i saw was bowyer and dyer get red carded, saw it on match of the day when i got in and was shocked and disgusted by them. It broke Bobby Robson's heart. Shame on both of them, i would hope they are now grown men who know better. I was a young teenager and it was the worst match i ever went to because of those 2 refusing to pass to each other. So childish.
Bobby Robson wasn't manager, Souness was?
@@tonyhirst3628 i did not say he was managing still, he was still broken hearted by it.
Graeme Souness was the manager then not Bobby Robson, i was there also and Souness got them together later told them if they like fighting he would take them both on haha.
@@TheWiseJames eh? How do you know? He has never said he was to my knowledge?
@@johnclegg4993 Assumption is the mother of all f ups mr clegg. Especially on the internet.
According to Shearer on The Rest is Football Podcast it had been brewing all week in training. He said throughout the week in training Dyer had refused to pass to Bowyer even when told to do so. He went on, it continued in the game and eventually Bowyer lost his rag over it. Shearer also said in the same podcast that Souness was so angry he threatened to take them both on in a fight at the same time.
Great interview @talksport .. Lee Bowyer was class, but he never quite made it on Tyneside mostly because, like Hugo Viana, he was playing in a decent side competing with Kieron Dyer, who was the established number 8. Despite this, he always put a shift in, just like another former Leeds player, James Milner.
Simon spot on with Elland Road. My favourite ground in English football because they're proper on your face. The perfect antidote to most of the placid corporate grounds in English football now.
This the same Lee Bowyer beating up helpless people outside the pitch? Yeah. Really nice person.
Pretty sure i remember a chant of " he's here he's there he wears no underwear - lee bowyer " . Ref. the court case at the time. I used to travel up from south wales for the Champions league nights and back to work next day . Good times
Could put an owl to sleep at midnight this lad
🤣
Really good player
Don't forget his off the pitch antics beating up a person along with a couple of team mates !!
Point being?
@@Daniel_Addy he ruined a trainee doctors career !!! The young lad that the three of them beat senseless was in hospital for three months !! The F.A let them get away with it !!! It was a racist attack but the F A stood by him !!!. He even played for England !!! They used the excuse that they were drunk !!! They were stamping on his head even though the lad was out cold !!! .

i remember a moment lee and jonny Woodgate had with the barnsley fans in a pre season friendly. A fan was giving him some stick whilst the corner was waiting ot be taken and shouted at lee "you wanna f*** off to united with ferdinand" lee and woodgate both laughed and lee turned and blew a kiss to the fan. Got a massive cheer! came across as a genuine fella! loved his application passion and drive even as a rival fan. Dont make em like Lee anymore
Bowyer has become a v.decent hard working respected Manager! Dier has disappeared into obscurity, slowly gambling away his money in Dubai or on a beach somewhere. So you tell me who was in the right wanting to win! If your team mate is muggin you off and harming the team.....you have no choice to stand up and fight! 👏👍
Bowyer wasn’t the most gifted player , not really fast , skinny and avg skills, but HIS PASSION FOR THE GAME was never doubted. Fiercest competitor
Great player was Lee Bowyer. Many fond memories of him at Leeds…
BOWYER CLEARLY WALKED OVER TO HIM. DYER STOOD STILL. HE THEN SHOVED DYER AND THEN STARTED THROWING PUNCHES. HOW THE F WAS THIS NOT BOWYER'S FAULT COMPLETELY?!!
A very underrated player was bowyer that Leeds team some amazing players as a man utd fan those games against Leeds in the late 90's n early noughties wer class 👏
Agreed with comment below - Bowyer, Kewell, Smith, Keane, Radebe, Woodgate and Viduka great footballers - great team... had other great Defenders too like Ian Harte and Rio Ferdinand too.
Blackburn Rovers v Spartak Moscow, David Batty & Graeme le Saux started battling on the pitch
Brilliant goal scoring midfielder at Leeds. Should have won trophys..
He won a trophy at Birmingham instead

I also remember that what made it even funnier was how Shearer told that Steven Taylor dumbly asked "aight lads, what was the score?" After he was send off before that incident between Bowyer and Dyer😂😂😂😂😂.
Never liked him especially after the fight with Dyer
Before that the reason no caps attack on a student in Leeds..
I never liked him even before that fight. Sir Bobby's only bad decision ad manager was get bowyer in on a free and drop solano for him.

love bowyer and dyer. quality footballers. love the passion.
What I remembered that day was how their shirts got torn off easily. Makes me wonder were they counterfeits?🤣
You'll find few bigger fans of Bowyer than myself, similar to Bryan Robson
We had an incredible range of midfielders with Gerrard Bowyer Dyer Carrick Cole Beckham Scholes Sinclair etc
Was at the game and it was quite funny. I loved Bowyer at Newcastle. 100% week in week out and liked to leave his foot in now and again🤔
i recall watching the `fight` game live, and thinking before the fight that dyer was ignoring bower and not passing to him.
The thing I like about Bowyer is he has accepted his wrongdoings. He never makes excuses for them. Nobody is perfect and we have all made mistakes. If you can accept your faults and learn from them, that is the main thing. But as a player for us (Leeds) he was class. Always gave 100%! I say this as an Asian as well. With all the negativity that happened, I feel he has grown up!
Love you lee .il never forget the passion you displayed on that elland road pitch x
Simon = Top LAD Proper Clobber ✊
I to this today and someone who lives in Suffolk did not know how Ipswich fans knew Dyer and Bowyer had a fight as I was for my foundation degree doing a work based learning module and of course I had my shirt on from that season they were coming up to me remarking about how they had brawled on the pitch
Lee was AMAZING that lad musta trod on every blade of grass on the pitch in every single game
It wasn’t a fight , it was handbags 🤣🤣
Well said boyer lad... It's was a decent spar at the time haha 😂
The confrontation btwn bowyer and dyer was about passion and I wish the England mens team had some of that 😕
What a good player, what an engine!
LEGENDARY
Bowyer is so embarrassed about that incidents 😂
Who the hell else does Bowyer think was to blame? He was a complete Thug back in the day!
Next time Souness is on the show would be great to get his perspective on this
Marching on together lee👌⚽
Lot of racists Bowyer fan boys here I see. Lol we know what's going on.
