    In this video, I explore some popular affluent areas within Accra Ghana. I explore Cantonments, East Legon and then Osu as well. We do some shopping along oxford street in Osu. For people that are thinking of visiting Accra Ghana, these areas are nice to stay and close to most popular places within Accra so you may consider getting apartments or hotels in these areas.

    In the 70's to the mid 90's Cantonment and Labone was the itch. That was where the Government officials and the top notch resided. East Legon came into the action from the late 90's till now. Thanks.

    It's interesting also in that it shows how the "street" part of even affluent areas isn't necessarily appealing. Driving by the south african embassy to Labone, you encounter potholes , meanwhile houses are so expensive. But is still relatively nicer than the roads where I live which are bumpy and hilly, and untarred bumpy roads, and people have chicken and goat running around and you don't see that in Labone and East Legon. But the video doesn't depict affluence, there are some really nice houses but I guess you would need access to show that. Like if this representing affluence in Ghana, you would think we don't have much in Ghana. Osu Oxford street, though expensive and touristy, I wouldn't classify as affluent.

    • @perfumesrus7504

      exactly i think she might have to consider the title of her video cause it gives a wrong impression of the affluent areas in gh. Affluent areas like Trassaco Valley, Airport Hills, West Legon, Adjiriganor, Labone, etc is not in the video

      But she never said Osu Oxford street is an affluent neighborhood, she was showing her that side of Accra which to her is more central. That’s the vibe I’m getting. If you live in Ghana you should know by now that it’s the urban roads who are in charge of building roads and maintenance on the roads in our communities so if you have queries I’d suggest you ask them.

    They developed these rich locations around the military bases at 37 Cantonments including the Presidential palace itself so in terms of security, which is very important, it's top notch and highly guaranteed so the diplomatic missions also sited their embassies and residents over there and the airport was built closer to this location and thus these high end locations are interconnected. That's what made these locations very expensive.

It will be suicidal to try to rob at the highest secured location in the country and note that the official name of Oxford street is Cantonments road so they share the same location including Labone,then airport residential is the second most expensive location cos they are also closest to Cantonments then East Legon follows,etc and the farther the place,the less expensive it becomes.

      The great infrastructure here in the states is the blood sweat and tears of my ancestors, friends and anyone else who wages were stolen to pay for it. There is a reason all this public wealth is on display here and it costs us dearly. Further, our gutters are way dirtier you just can’t see them or clean them

    I have a question regarding your beauty products you say” they are made in Ghana” the currency of which is the Cedi so why are your prices in USD.

    • @miss_pearl
      @miss_pearl 3 года назад +3

      I know you are asking Jasmine and I am not Jasmine. She is not selling the products only to Ghanaians and the dollar is like a central currency, so it only makes sense she charges in dollars, that way it is convenient for everyone. Look at Alibaba, it is in China but they use dollars for pricing because they have a global market. It is easy to figure that one out, we do not even have to ask.

    • @caracas787
      @caracas787 3 года назад +1

      @@miss_pearl Thanks for your comment .The question of people selling things in USD in Ghana is a pet topic of mine.one only has to look at the real estate market the prices are all USD.The dollarization of the Ghanaian economy favours the rich who have access to USD whilst making it very difficult for average Ghanaian to improve their lives.If you are in Ghana I hope the elections tomorrow go off peacefully have a good evening.

      @@caracas787 I am in South Africa, I am not even Ghanaian. It's just an observation I made. I don't know about the rest of local things sold in dollars. I was just referring to the online stores coz they have a global market.

      At the moment the virus is almost under control. Through the people's compliance, the government's seriousness and God's grace, infections are very low and we have had about 3 deaths in about four months. Masks are still required in cramped spaces like banks, offices, churches and schools though. Still if you watch the video fully u all see people wearing masks all over. Trust me, GH is doing fine.
