  • Various photos taken inside of Paisley Park, which was more than a home to Prince (R.I.P.). Hopefully, this massive building will remain functional as a top notch recording studio, and converted into a museum that honors Prince & his musical legacy. #Prince

    What a beautiful home. No wonder Prince didn't want to leave. It would be a dream if it was turned into a museum and not abused. I hope all the furnishings are protected and cared for 💜

      D Walker I hope the family namely his sister Tyka does the right thing by turning his home into a museum charging visitors to help with the upkeep of the building. She used to take drugs and I worry this new found vast wealth might make her go down that dark road again may be not! Money does strange things to people 😞

      +D Walker Omg! Already? But the judge didn't set up another court date yet. They got to pay off any debts he had owed.

      Christina McLeod No, he mentioned it in an interview a while back that someone helped themselves to a few. It happens alot with guitars for some reason. Even Gibson guitars seem to get stolen or faked alot.

      That's what I said too! I'd absolutely LOVE to go tour Paisley Park. Of course, I'm a lot further away than 4 hours, but I'd pay good money to come to Minnesota to tour his Purple Palace.

    • @tdavidg9176
      @tdavidg9176 8 лет назад +14

      I'm 20 minutes from it, driven by it over the years but first I have seen this detailed of a tour. Pretty cool! I used to live by the Graffiti Bridge though in my 20's. It was an old railroad bridge not too far from Paisley Park on Valley View Road in the the neighboring city of Eden Prairie. It was torn down in the early 90's. I once saw Prince driving a purple roadster near the area shortly after Paisley Park was completed. I also grew up near the Lake Minnetonka scene from the Purple Rain movie near the small town of Henderson,Mn. This whole area has bucket loads of his history dating back 35 or more years. People with little stories like mine with some connection or a brush with Prince. I thought it was pretty cool he stayed here and did not go all Hollywood. Such a great talent that left too soon. RIP kid!!

      The first time I saw Paisley Park when I was on my way to basic training in Great Lakes, IL! Good Lord that sucker is huge!!! I got to see that on the plane. Plus, it was 10 people on a big ole US Air 747 and the captain and co-captain was ahead of schedule, so started from Columbia, South Carolina. From there when we got to Charlotte-Douglass Airport in Charlotte, got on. Flew to Montreal, Canada, I saw Niagra Falls. From there, I saw Paisley Park, simply beautiful! Turned around to head back to Chicago. I saw Harpo Studios, both areas for the Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan's mansion. R.Kelly former mansion in Olympia Fields and finally we touched down at O'Hare. Thank U so much for doing this video. I am crying and smiling because U brought back alot of memories for this retire Sailor. 💜💜💜💜💜💜

  • @KONAROCK1

    My dad is a musician and I grew up playing on the floor of his home studio. I used to build mixing desks from legos, build drum sets with pots/pans, record "songs" with my little cassette recorder.. As far back as I can remember, when the other kids at school would fantasize about "what I would do if I was rich", I'd always say that I'd by a bunch of land on an island and built a massive home/studio/music complex. Paisley Park is about 90% close to what I've always seen in my head when I thought of that fantasy.
    I'm part of the way there. I have a big house on a mountain overlooking Kailu Bay in Kona, Hawaii. ..and I've built the best studio I've ever had here in this house. Life's been rough lately. ..really hard. But re-connecting with Prince lately has reminded me that I'm still VERY lucky and happy. That's what I have to focus on. He's gotten me past my writer's block and depression and inspired me to get back to work. I'm really grateful for that.
    I just wish it could have been under different circumstances. The guy was an absolute wizard and could literally conjure the products of his imagination into the physical world. His entire reality was one big art project. He will be missed.

    that's an amazing studio and home. Everything is styled in a way that reflects Prince's taste and image. I'd like to visit one day, especially when it becomes a museum with lots of music, fashion and movie reminders of his genius.

    This is late, but thanks so much for showing this. Very creative style, mind bending. It makes me think that anything is possible. Prince did what to others was impossible. I see you making beautiful music with my friend Kenny. R.I.P. beautiful ones!

      I'd greatly appreciate it if some old-school Prince fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal tribute version of MONEY DON'T MATTER 2 NIGHT on my channel. Real live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks, please pardon the promo and most importantly, all respect to the MAN.

    It just don't seem real prince is gone, I'm a 80's baby, 1980 to be exact and Micheal Jackson, Whitney Houston , and Prince they defined what 1980's was it's just unbelievable when you think about that they are all gone in span of 7 years because mj died in 2009, it's just crazy. It took me about two years to get over Whitney's death it really affect me deeply and now prince four years later I just can't and also vanity this year as well was shocking, I can't even look at the last dragon anymore knowing vanity is gone. I'm so glad that I grew up in the 80's and 90's which to me was the best times in music. Rest in peace my sweet prince, you be deeply miss.

    A lot of symbolism is in this house...the starts, planets, the design of the house, etc. The windows, in my opinion only, seems as though he was wanting to keep an eye on things in & outside of his home. Still it seems almost sterile and lonely but then again ALL of the rooms were not shown. I'm sure there were some that were off-limits. I miss this man immensely. He was a musical genius, an innovator, and such mentor for many. Gone too soon. RIP Purple One.
