I bought my 2003 1.1 Seicento in November 2019. It was going to be a second car to use for delivery driving. But after selling my VW golf to my uncle, I started using the Fiat full time. I love this little car. It's so fun to drive, and I have also driving all the way to central Europe (Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic) in it. No problems at all, but I wouldn't suggest driving it too hard on the autobahn. Just cruise and enjoy, even if it's a little noisy. ;)
Really enjoyed learning about the fiat seicento. I almost bought one for £200 off a friend some years ago, but ended up getting into the mk2 polo breadvan as a project. My favourite engine I've had so far is the yaris Sr mk1 1.3 vvti engine they just don't die unless neglected, much like the seicento. Never failed to start first time everytime, even in - 6 winter. I'd did burn a lot of oil but I just see it as its getting new oil going through quite often by topping it up 😏
Bought a black Seicento Abarth a few days ago. Specially equipped with 1.2 p75 engine. You forgot to mention that the rear axle can rust from inside and needs some attention against this every here and there... A big difference between the SX and the Sporting/Abarth/Schuhmacher is That the SX has a taller 5th gear - that’s why many who do engine swaps are looking for an SX gearbox... Btw - I prefer the MPI over the SPI, because they run smoother, are even more fuel efficient and feel a bit more powerful 😇 Driving Seicentos since 2002 (first a 899cc - now a 1.1 MPI SX which slowly turns into an Abarth) A few nice options you forgot to mention : Aircondition - Leather Seats (nice black/red trim) - opening rear windows... With all theses options a well kept car can reach the 2.000,-€... ABS and double Airbags where widely available in the MPI as well as Servo steering ... A very nice and easy engine swap for the MPI is the 1.2 16v from the Lancia Y or Fiat Punto with 85hp... Bolts on directly at the gearbox - the blackbox fits plug in at the wireing harness of the MPI So you just need that engine with Blackbox and ignition lock/key to win nearly 30hp!!! The electric sliding sunroof is a bit a pain in the ass when it comes to spareparts - especially the push/pull cables are hard to find ( ask me why I know this...😇😂) Final - lift the battery before you buy the car - many Centos are wrotten very badly under it!!! If you wanna have an all option car, buy one with AC and cut the sliding roof in - that’s much easier as mounting an AC afterwards... ( that my struggle now, to find all AC parts and built it in...)

Had a seceinto SX Y plate back in 2005 and ended up with the car for 4 years. Albeit being a student back then it took a fair amount of abuse by not sticking to the service regimes either. Had no problems with the electrics although needed new exhaust partly due to poor maintenance on my end. As you said parts generally cheap I could get 4 new tyres for under 250 quid - that’s the cost of one tyre on my current car now!
Not sure if the Cinquecento and Seicento share the same brake setup, but my Cinquecento has the best handbrake I've ever experienced in a car. If the cable is new and adjusted properly, that thing turns into a literal drift brake. I need 1, max 2 clicks of the lever for the car to stop. Got any tips/advice or anything that can help me on the way of getting it to work again? I keep an eye on your video's, thanks for sharing and greetings from the Netherlands.
I had one for a year, it was very poorly maintained (not a sporting mind you, it had suspension problems, mechanical wheel, really old and neglected), but still fun. Is a newer, better maintained Seicento good for long trips, or is it too noisy and an all around pain?
Really good overall guide Joe, had three and still own two. Been having problems sourcing new "right hand drive" headlamps, loads of left hand drive on ebay. Any ideas?
Hello Miller! My 19k Sporting has now done 26k. I drove the wheels off it for a week to see the mpg. 39.83! Yesterday I noticed the cigar lighter wasn't working for charging my phone. Then the HVAC isn't working either. Any ideas? Seems like fuses to me....many thanks 😀
Thanks for the sage advice as always. Tried the fuse today, and it seems the problem is not the fuse. My Fiat expert who has a Seicento, said it could be a burnt out motor. Any way, the car is still epic 😀
@@humzaiqbal5469 I live in canada, and they were never sold here. I would only be able to get one by importing it, which is a fairly expensive and long process :(
Great buying guide 😊👍. I'm thinking about buying one as a daily driver. One concern: I'm not sure if it's okay to use E10 ( 10% ethanol) feul 🤔. It's a Seicento from 2000 with euro 2, engine code 176B2.000. Owner say it's fine ( but of course he wants to sell his car ), different website one claims build after 2000 is no problem, other site claims build after 2000 and euro 3. So I hope perhaps you have some experience driving with E10 ? Thanks in advance.
I've only ever put E10 in since the introduction of it, but my fuel tank is brand new - I'd say run an in-line filter, redex your tank out to clean it and keep an eye on the state of your hoses and you'll be fine 😁
I've had Seicento for 15 years. It's an amazing car. If it's driven normally and maintained regularly it will never let you down. It is also important to buy it in good condition. The only thing to pay attention to is the alternator. It's best to change it every 50,000 kilometers and you have nothing to worry about.
Great video. Talking about electrics.... Start mine, all warning lights are off, switch dipped beam on and the ABS light comes on. Switch off engine, start the engine again, the ABS light is on!!! Numerous garages cannot trace the fault... Any idea?
The handbrake switch is probs faulty. If you pull handbrake up, there is a white button under the lever, press it and watch the dash lights. if it stays on, the switch needs replacing
Absolutely love my little seicento, I can't seem to find those rear arch liners you were describing though, could I get a link to some? If they're still available to buy?

Also she's tall like me and the front seat base is a bit short on the thigh. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
I had an SX back in my time of uni and must say the car was reliable overall and only let me know due to poor maintenance on my end. I also passed my practical in it and had a great time owning it. It’s probably not the best looking car but good for a first car. I had no issues with the seat and the pedals being so close to one another is something one gets used to.
My question is this..... I am 6ft6, will I fit in a 'cento? I want one. I drove a Panda, and despite it driving nicely, the only way I would be comfortable is if I didn't have any shoulders...
I am the same size, my friend has a seicento sporting and I fit in it no problem. Seat is all the way maxed out in the passenger seat and the driver seat is a little better but otherwise no issues.
Miller Corner, I know you won't because it's not Italian, but I'd love it if you done a project Toyota starlet, not a glanza, just a bog standard 1.3. I still see them on the roads today sometimes, speaks for itself really 💪
Truck crash into mine...that sounds serious. I once shot straight straight into an earth wall. Due to the low net weight, there was actually little damage. So things can turn out better with this car.

Hi, do you know if this car has a steering assistance (electric or hydraulic)? Thanks :)
They share a fuse, change it 😁
Thanks for the sage advice as always. Tried the fuse today, and it seems the problem is not the fuse. My Fiat expert who has a Seicento, said it could be a burnt out motor. Any way, the car is still epic 😀
Do you know the Seicento 50th Anniversary Edition? Is it any different? I'm considering buying a used one.
Way to make me want one even more despite the fact I can't easily get them here! :(
25 years is the rule, right? Only three years to go! ;)
@@MillerCorner Actually, it's 15 here in Canada! :D
Then what are you waiting for?! 😉
@@OdykKayne get one then
@@humzaiqbal5469 I live in canada, and they were never sold here.
@@MillerCorner thanks for the advice and quick response 😊👍
I think that it is Fiats venerable (not vulnerable) engine, {1.18}.
That'll be my accent 😉
I have a 1999 Fiat Seicento. Does anyone know of anywhere online where I can find a manual for it?
Great video... although I do like an msc edition.
Absolutely love my little seicento, I can't seem to find those rear arch liners you were describing though, could I get a link to some? If they're still available to buy?
Link in the description 😁
@@MillerCorner
Thanks man, are these them? I can't seem to find them on that site lol 😅 www.tarostrade.com/rear-inner-plastic-fender-77275/po/fiat-seicento-12001-61999
They are indeed!
@@MillerCorner awesome thank you! I'll have to look into how to fit them ahah
@@MillerCorner Hi Again! Just a quick update, I know this was a while ago but I've sprayed waxoyl under the rear arches after wire brushing and cleaning them as much as possible! They're all protected now so thank you very much for this video as I would have not even considered this issue without it being brought up ahaha
well be nice if you develope more info about punto block swap ... im intrested to do that and and get more info from you
Check out my engine swap video, bud 😁
@@MillerCorner ok i watch it i got a question if I do wat you dan in this video but keep stock exist manyfold all be fine my version is MPI (sx), model so don't stand out to insurance purposes... did you dyno test it ? ever if got 75 bhp? or fells it better to respond on driving over the stock bottom block?
and can you give a code for 1242 engine as i found many ... types in yers production thx mate :) f
my 17 year old daughter has inherited a super low mileage red seicento sx, (52 reg) how can i get her to accept its a great car, she doesn't think it looks cute enough and says it makes her thunk of postman pat ;).
Thank you bro❤️
My question is this..... I am 6ft6, will I fit in a 'cento? I want one. I drove a Panda, and despite it driving nicely, the only way I would be comfortable is if I didn't have any shoulders...
I am the same size, my friend has a seicento sporting and I fit in it no problem. Seat is all the way maxed out in the passenger seat and the driver seat is a little better but otherwise no issues.
I got an Abarth for my first car, cost me 1400
Miller Corner, I know you won't because it's not Italian, but I'd love it if you done a project Toyota starlet, not a glanza, just a bog standard 1.3.
I still see them on the roads today sometimes, speaks for itself really 💪
I do like a Starlet, but one small fwd nugget is enough for now 😉
@@MillerCorner 👍
will you buy performance sway bar for your yellow seicento
I'm not sure any exist 😬
@@MillerCorner I think you can reuse punto gt one...but maybe I'am wrong
@@MillerCorner OMP make them, i have them on mine
Mi seicento had 105mph out mine. Was 98 1.1 modle. I beat it every wear dint drink much fuel
What is the pcd of the wheels
4x98 - you can fit 4x100 wheels with wobble bolts 😁
love mine
My mom bought a 2018 FIAT PUNTO
5k to get one in Italy....
Damn you didn’t mention the safety!!!!
@Stavros yeah fiat were making the multipla with 6 airbags then they made the sei and thought ‘yeah let’s just give them the one’
@nh73 man the base has no airbags at least in UK and no passenger airbag
@nh73 true but wouldn’t want to have a collision with a 2020 Land Rover defender
Not to worry - the Land Rover won't be running long enough to have an accident!
@@MillerCorner hahaha
You sound like Tristan Tate
Just don’t crash at all unless you Want to die even at 40km/h.
Had a crash with a lorry in mine. Very much still alive.
@@MillerCorner good lord what speed was that at the crash test show the thing folding in like a paper box
@@MillerCorner Was the lorry broken??
Truck crash into mine...that sounds serious. I once shot straight straight into an earth wall. Due to the low net weight, there was actually little damage. So things can turn out better with this car.
Finally you get some hairdresser xDDD
Wow, you talk to fast.
