I love that you are using a preppy this month, I actually have over 30 as I keep one permanently inked for each bottle of ink I have so I can easily write with an ink quickly for comparing with samples or to have as a backup for leaving the house, they never let me down
Can't wait to see your review at the end of the month

I've been enjoying the Preppy this month. I've finally found an ink that I like in it.

I own pens which are worth hundreds of euros in my collection (my absolute fav being my 2 Customs 823). I was actually shocked when I tried my first Preppy some days ago.
It's one of the best nibs I've experienced (I tried the 03). Flawless performer.

I'm always surprised at how well some of my cheaper pens perform.

I have found that I have been able to eyedropper fill pens with metal threads if you find an O ring that fits on the section and be generous with the silicone grease applied to the threads. I have not seen any damage to the threads. For the Prera do check for leaks on the barrel, though. I have added a tiny bit of glue on my Jinhao X159 around the ring at the end of the barrel and recently a drop of glue on the 9013 and both work perfectly. The ink capacity is very large on both pens.
You have to find a Sailor 1911L. I think it will fit your hand and the nib is wonderful.
I am still considering the E95S. I had the earlier version but am kicking myself for letting it go. It is my #1 for this month.
The ProGear Slim should be #2.

I've given the Prera another clean and noticed the ring on the convertor was loose. Hopefully tightening that will prevent future issues.
Thanks for the tip about the glow and metal threads for eyedropping.

I have a vintage Pilot Elite with 18k M nib, and a new Pilot E95s with a 14k M nib. Fantastic pens. When they appear in my note taking I always marvel at how well Preppies write. Don not have any other of the pens in your review so it was nice to get your thoughts. Thanks

That was an interesting half time report Gary. I don't have a Prera, but I do have a Platinum Plaisir that's at the same price level (I think). My newest acquisition arrived yesterday. The Sailor Compass 1911 in transparent blue with a medium fine nib. It's a fine writer, but even at the sale price I feel it was still overpriced. It's also small enough that I have to post it for it to fit comfortably in my hand.

I have the Plasir on my "to buy" list but haven't got round to buying one yet.

@@GarryEves Just to let you know, the finish on the Plaisir metal body makes the pen feel a bit slick, but I don't mind it at all. I guess it is true for many pens, but I somehow managed to snap my feed off when I went to cap it and it caught on the cap lining!! I had to sacrifice a Preppy to get it back to writing.

I' hadn't heard of that pen. I've just had a look at it on AliExpress and have added to my "to buy" list.
