Bob Swanson I agree with everything you said but then you ask why she needed to resign? Your answer is in you starting statement 😉 That's why. She was abusing the authority she thought she had.
What if there weren't a dash cam to document this show? These officers should get a promotion for showing admirable restraint and diplomacy. They should show this video in police academies across the country to train recruits how relate to hostile 'citizens.'
Thank you for John Dickerson for saying it correctly in the end. Your mannerisms and attitude was asking for special treatment. Gayle King is losing her vision. This is starting to be a pattern with her and it's probably time to move on to a different host who is not politically connected and who was just give the honest factual unbiased view. There's no way you can watch the video and finalize that she was not asking for special preferential treatment for her family
She probably tries that crap too. When that broad was trying to intimidate that officer by crowding him and backing him up against the vehicle, he should have told that one time to back up. When she didn't, she should have been in the back of that police car. Not sure why she wasn't. That's why she continued on with that foolery. She's was testing the limitation of their boundaries and getting away with it.
The officers restrained themselves well, but they need to learn to cut off a "conversation" like that much sooner. She is free to be an idiot but they are not obliged to engage with her.
She appeared to be demanding special treatment in my opinion. I watched the full video. I felt she was extremely rude and very entitled. Police officers did a very good job.
How did she not ask for special treatment? She directly handed them her card and said this is who I am and then just kept throwing it around. She needs professional help.
Would she have resigned if the incident had not been filmed ? I think not ! This incident had the right outcome because it was filmed and because the police put it on youtube. Formerly, in the country I live in, „important“ people were given special car number plates, and the police knew that if they fined such persons, then they themselves would be in trouble. This lady was trying to abuse her position to avoid her daughter‘s friend being fined. That is not good behaviour for a person who is supposed to be representing law and order. Besides having to resign, she should have been heavily fined for insulting and cursing at the police officers. What a vile and obnoxious person to be in such a position.
@@mrbeaverstate Actually, That video filming IS standard procedure (for police ) in a LOT communities around the US..exactly becuse of attitudes like YOURS...and it is perfectly legal.
THE TRACKCAR This woman was fined $1500 by her employers. In addition to that, she resigned because of pressure from the public, and from her employers. She tried to abuse her position to get her daughter’s boyfriend off the hook, by threatening, insulting, and swearing at the police officers. Justice was served in this case, but had the incident not been recorded, MISS Turner, now ex-commissioner, would still be a vile, obnoxious beast of a person, in a position that she should not be in.
She was head of the Government and Ethics committee for the Port Authority in New York and New Jersey but obviously had no Ethics of her own. She should publicly apologize to these two professional officers for her very shameful tirade.
Bing bing bong bong You're absolutely right! I guarantee she sees nothing wrong with the way she acted and that's the true tragedy when she should be very ashamed of herself.
Eileen Eckendorf you mean pretty much DEMANDING special treatment. What a bad example she is showing her kids. And everyone actually, thanks to RUclips. Lol
Only if you ignore the fact that she's a Hillary supporter "Turner served on the finance committees for Jon Corzine and Hillary Clinton.[14] She was a co-chairman of the Financial Committee for Ready for Hillary, a super political action committee created to draft Clinton for the 2016 United States Presidential Election.[15][16]".
I love so much when people get caught behaving this way. Its so incredibly common. I cant tell you how many times people repeat to me that they are doctors or lawyers when they are upset over a wait time for a table in a restaurant. So many entitled people in the world.
They gave her the courtesy to resign otherwise they’d have to fire her and file a formal complaint on behalf of the board also conduct a formal investigation in which I’m sure she’s done this numerous times and only bring more attention and embarrassment towards her… it was the only card she had left in the deck to play 😂 Justice sometimes does win 💯
Julian Gonzalez wrong, she was called in for them. Meaning she was to be informed by someone as to why she was to be coming to a crime scene. The victims are under no obligation to tell her why, however the police officers under oath must if she asks. Not only due to her role but also as a policy. From my understanding they didn't check the passengers IDs, meaning they did not know for a fact that all of them were over 18. I went to college when I was 17. Meaning legally she could still be responsible for her daughter, but the two officers involved had no proof that she was over 18. Hence the officers in this case are wrong. However, the officers were wrong from start to finish where the mother was only rude (not wrong just rude) during the last ~45 seconds or so (of the original clip.) Public servants in NJ must suck if this is how they act, however. Guess that's what happens if you live in one of those states.
No one has access to academic status, medical records, financial info., etc of anyone over 18 yrs whether you're related or not, without permission. The stop was finished, all information/paperwork complete. Done. Caron was transportation, not litigator. For a trained 'ethics' lawyer, she was over her ski-tips...and she knew it.

That was the best line. Does she say that at Starbucks? "Excuse me, my coffee cup has my name on it. Please return it with "Commissioner" on it.'"
She should have been asked to resign immediately. Accepting unacceptable behaviours is what’s wrong with the world today. This woman demonstrated her true nature.
Her whole reason for being there was for special treatment.
And, she blew up when she didn't get it.
B A: Exactly.
SHE THINKS SHE IS SO IMPORTANT. THERE ARE SO MANY LIKE HER. GOOD JOB. GLAD SHE IS GONE. SHE IS SHAMEFUL
I don't care,
That's what happens when ppl with small Brains have too much power.
She stuck her Nose where it didn't belong. An cost her a job.
Michael Wilson
Too bad, you tried shamelessly to mock Trump and his supporters but you failed, she is democrat
I’m glad that man set it straight at the end. She WAS demanding special treatment.
lol yes what a hero
Right? I love how that one lady was basically agreeing with Caren that she didn't ask for special treatment. Caren literally said "I'm a friend of the Mayor", and that her two children go to MIT and Yale. You know she was hoping that she could get her adult children's friend out of this because of her title. Her kids weren't even in trouble because it wasn't their car haha so she was definitely trying to get special treatment... It blows my mind how people think that's alright.
Love the action taken. And hats off to those two policemen!
If she was like that to the cops, I wonder how she treated her employees. I bet that they are happier than pigs in poop
Marc Aliventi Aliventi That's why the Port Authority are the way they are. They're so glad she's gone. Loud mouth Democrat Elite BULLY. Probably having a *good riddance* party
Bing bing bong bong that's the only way to get rid of them, catch them outside of their office because they think they are all that and just let them run their mouths
I am laughing at your comment. Thanks!!! 😂🤣😂🤣
She should have been arrested for interfering with a police officer.
Booooot liiiiiicker
Her "apology" is as grandiose as her ethics.

Good one, hahaha!! 😂
Her husband's name is Henry Fishman and I bet he has some real interesting tales to tell about what marriage is like with her.
Just found out she's been divorced, twice
She didn't ask for special treatment she threatened for special treatment
Lost her job, and that sounds like it was a very good job. She definitely paid the price for this and those cops get the last laugh, big time!
PA Sucks ,But then you realize the Tax Payments
@PA Sucks she wont have em for long. Lol
That Commissioner job was voluntary and unpaid.
She has money
Please give these officers a promotion.
How did that talk with the chief of police and the mayor go, Caren? Hmmm...????
24 Lancelot they had no comments..
I wonder if she will be hosting anymore cocktail or dinner parties for law enforcement officials at one of her 3 homes in the near future?!?

This lady is a disgrace. Hope people shame her wherever she goes. She has earned it
and her daughter who called her mother
She's in NJ. Which is pretty much a Blue State anyway. An because she stood up to those Mean officers..(NOT) She may be offered a better job than she had.
APPARENTLY. M.I.T Doesn't teach ppl how to keep your Registration up to date. SO THEY DON'T GET THEIR CAR IMPOUNDED.
@@thomaspayne6866 she only called her mom to pick her up though
People make mistakes. She's already resigned, apologized and her power trip aired on national television with millions of views to further embarrass her. No need to harass her everyday. I'm sure she's learned her lesson.
She DIDN'T, apologize, she threatened, and set an example for her children that they are above the law! And best of all, for them anyway, THE LAW WINS!
We are in trouble because these self entitled little poopsies will be running the country and still need mommy to come wipe their arse.
Perhaps, but she has condemned them to always be "The Karen"'s children now.
I never get tired watching Caren making a fool of herself and I feel bad for the kids that have to listen to her all the way home ( hope it's a short ride)🤮
She did not "Ask" for Special Treatment, but she was Demanding Special Treatment by her actions, attitudes and words.
-If she did nothing "Wrong", why did she have to resign?
These two policemen need to be promoted for their professionalism.
Bob Swanson I agree with everything you said but then you ask why she needed to resign? Your answer is in you starting statement 😉 That's why. She was abusing the authority she thought she had.
She was forced into resigning.
CeeCee Nunya they most likely gave her 2 options, get fired and have it look bad on her record, or resign.
Actually, I think what they REALLY need is a three day vacation!
"Do you know who I used to be?!!!"

What if there weren't a dash cam to document this show? These officers should get a promotion for showing admirable restraint and diplomacy. They should show this video in police academies across the country to train recruits how relate to hostile 'citizens.'

Excellent outcome. I’m tired of *public servants* thinking they’re better than the public.

She’s such an idiot & unfortunately her daughter will carry this around for a long time.
And now, a year later, 1,853,994 views. Lol!
Those cops deserve all the respect. They were so patient and calm and never uttered a word of disrespect.
There's no way you can watch the video and finalize that she was not asking for special preferential treatment for her family
cory ddp very well stated
Twisted women mentality of covering up each others failures, with some exceptions.
Gayle is a trickster and a mammy. She's a water carrier. Glad u see it.
Even her "apology" reeks of entitlement.
The only work she should be doing for the state of NJ is making license plates.
Impeach Pelosi
No scrubbing the toilets out.
like trump
@@dianeparesso6005 You wish. Trump didn't have US citizens assassinated, like war criminal-Obama did. Now you know.
FANTASTIC, she deserves all she got. Very silly woman and most disrespectful to the officers who did an excellent job.
As a code of ethics, public officials should never wave their positions to police officers
How did she not ask for special treatment? She directly handed them her card and said this is who I am and then just kept throwing it around. She needs professional help.
Her being named caren was a red flag.
She's was DEFINITELY asking for special treatment.
More like demanding, she pretends to ask but instead trying to play mind games cuz she thinks she's such a great lawyer, broad
More like attempted bribery to me, and then j-walking, not to mention obstruction!
Not according to Gail King she wasn't
Well said. People like this need to be kept as far from power as possible.
Yes, you're right. She got away with it lightly. She should apologize to the officers publicly.
Would she have resigned if the incident had not been filmed...BINGO! says it all
@@mrbeaverstate Actually, That video filming IS standard procedure (for police ) in a LOT communities around the US..exactly becuse of attitudes like YOURS...and it is perfectly legal.
THE TRACKCAR This woman was fined $1500 by her employers. In addition to that, she resigned because of pressure from the public, and from her employers. She tried to abuse her position to get her daughter’s boyfriend off the hook, by threatening, insulting, and swearing at the police officers. Justice was served in this case, but had the incident not been recorded, MISS Turner, now ex-commissioner, would still be a vile, obnoxious beast of a person, in a position that she should not be in.
what an abuse of power by the ex-commissioner
She was head of the Government and Ethics committee for the Port Authority in New York and New Jersey but obviously had no Ethics of her own. She should publicly apologize to these two professional officers for her very shameful tirade.
S W Even if she did apologize. There would be no credibility to that apology.
Bing bing bong bong You're absolutely right! I guarantee she sees nothing wrong with the way she acted and that's the true tragedy when she should be very ashamed of herself.
When she announced where she worked and who she was and that they were to call her commissioner she was asking for special treatment.
Eileen Eckendorf you mean pretty much DEMANDING special treatment. What a bad example she is showing her kids. And everyone actually, thanks to RUclips. Lol
trump will take her in. she has his way of braking the law.

Good thing she resigned. The absolute arrogance was disgusting.
A New Jersey official trying to throw her weight around with the cops?? I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!
You can't fix stupid, but at least every now and then they resign.
I love so much when people get caught behaving this way. Its so incredibly common. I cant tell you how many times people repeat to me that they are doctors or lawyers when they are upset over a wait time for a table in a restaurant. So many entitled people in the world.
I am Gumby, dammit!!!!
They gave her the courtesy to resign otherwise they’d have to fire her and file a formal complaint on behalf of the board also conduct a formal investigation in which I’m sure she’s done this numerous times and only bring more attention and embarrassment towards her… it was the only card she had left in the deck to play 😂
Justice sometimes does win 💯
Promote those two cops! They’re not crooked cops.
O O most aren’t
In case Caren Turner still doesn't know why they were lawfully pulled over, she can skip to 0:26.
yeah, but that is after the facts.... I am not sure why the cops are not telling her why when she asked them.
Jan Shegers because they are adults and the police don’t have to say anything. The daughter should have done that.
😂😂😂👏🏽
No one has access to academic status, medical records, financial info., etc of anyone over 18 yrs whether you're related or not, without permission. The stop was finished, all information/paperwork complete. Done. Caron was transportation, not litigator. For a trained 'ethics' lawyer, she was over her ski-tips...and she knew it.
Some people want special treatment. These police officers did an excellent job keeping calm.
npo64 m
odinmage, what does this have to do with “white privilege”? If it was real then she clearly doesn’t have it.
Her statement of apology was only a partial apology. She never apologized for trying to pull rank with those two police officers
Top of the line officers!
@Patrick McCarthy you can get pulled over for too dark tints
Notice in Carens apology she put the word "However" which pretty much means forget what I just said, This is what I really mean.
Um When you constantly say "I am the commissioner" and "I'm friends with the Mayor" That is technically asking for special treatment
She did not insist on special treatment? Then why is she arguing with the police over a matter that does not involve her?
But if you were a commissioner taking to the police, won't you tell them that???
Abuse of power at it's best!
