  • I have a genetic essential tremor / familial tremor. My father had it and I have it through his line. It is not as "serious" as Parkinson's, in the sense that my breathing and eating should not be compromised. Still, as any artist or crafter understands, trying to do things while having your hands shaking can be quite a challenge.
I've been running this RUclips Origami challenge since March 2007. That's quite a long time. Over the years, viewers have noticed that my hands have gotten shakier and shakier. For a while this discouraged me from making more videos. I finally decided that I would talk with viewers about how to approach the challenges of creating origami even though you have essential tremors or Parkinson's or other issues.
There's always a way. You just need to be patient, compassionate, and creative.
I have a selection of my origami crane earrings and personalized lotus flowers available at:

I'm so glad you like them! Between my hands getting shakier and my voice being affected by my thyroids, I sometimes feel like I'm losing my ability to do the videos. I figure I should keep trying, though!

Thank you so much! I figured at least I should show other people with tremors that it was possible to keep doing origami.
