    Everytime I saw video like this, I go to the comments and look for someone who arguing about "don't solder on lithium ion battery". There are always people say the same thing..
    Well, you are quite right (for someone who really have enough budget to buy spot welder devices), but also you are not really right. You can solder on battery if you know what are you doing. The correct advice is "Don't solder too long on the battery until you overheating it". That's why you have to learn some soldering techniques to let you avoid soldering on the battery too long. You can even solder as long as the spot welder weld metal on the battery terminal if you learnt the right technique and use right flux and material. I did this many times already. I have a solar power bank using soldered connection batteries, it still works from 2020 until now. Only downside of soldering is, the connection not really neat compared to beautiful spot welded connection.

      the guy in the video is using the Wrong Tip. and the wrong solder too.
      the best Tip is to use the D tip. (Flat)
      and fold the solder so you are melting twice as much in one go.
      twice as much means cutting solder time to half.

      Everytime someone says 'you can do this if you know what youre doing' , proves they dont know what they are doing. They just dont want to look stupid. I get people who say this during snowy weather and people drive fast, like idiots, as if its magic words that magically gives their tires super sticky qualities that make them stick to ice so they dont lose traction and crash.

    Easiest way to do this. Use a Dremel sander to clean the battery. Apply a smear of plumbers tinning flux, then touch with a very hot iron and 63/37 tin lead solder. Do it hot and fast.❤

    But what I say... is that by removing that outer-coating that the solder won't adhere to, will rust. Guaranteed.

    This is EXACTLY how to NOT solder. The solder should go between the soldering iron tip and the place but you drop some solder on the soldering iron tip for ? It CAN make a cold joint. But basically you REALLY must learn how to solder AND how to keep clean that poor soldering iron tip .

    • @TechscrewHome
      @TechscrewHome  Год назад +2

      - first, the soldering iron tip is clean, if it wasn't clean, tin wouldn't stick to it
      - second, to make a quality connection, you need to heat the surface you are soldering. In the case of soldering batteries, this must also be done quickly to avoid damaging the battery.
